We would like to welcome you to the 4th Annual Rancher’s Select Simmental Sale. What a year 2022 was with its many challenges! From a record setting cold winter during calving, to as bad as we’ve seen in many years for spring storms during breeding. A long delayed, wet spring definitely presented challenges with spring seeding not getting started until the end of May and not getting wrapped until close to mid June for the crop division. All that aside; with more than ample moisture the tonnage of feed we put up and the pasture grass was bountiful.

The set of bulls we have brought to town this year I believe is a hardy and diverse group with something for everybody. From a mix of exciting pedigrees, both A.I and from our tried and tested walking bulls to a mix of colour between the reds, blacks and baldies, as well as calving ease to cow bulls. You may find bigger and fatter bulls up and down the road but I firmly believe these bulls have a lot of potential and have done relatively well considering they went to grass in the third week of June and were weaned the third week in September.

These guys are slow grown on a Masterfeeds bull developer pellet and free choice grass hay for growth and development to ensure longevity at their new homes; which is a top priority here. Along with that the bulls are a very docile bunch to work with as well as being a very free moving group which is critical for walking the pasture. I can honestly say we have never grown a set of bulls with as much hair as these guys; they are made for any climate. All are on a full Bovishield Gold vaccine program as well as Ivomec and Cylence. Coat colour and polled tests are pending on all our sale bulls; we should have the results back soon.
