HPU HOUSING

At HPU, campus life empowers students by helping them to create a strong sense of self, both in the classroom and in the residential environment. All students who are not seniors and who do not live with their parents or guardians in North Carolina or within 50 miles of HPU are required to live on campus. The Office of Student Life's door is always open to our students for any questions or guidance they may need throughout their time living and learning on the HPU campus.

AMENITIES & CONVENIENCES

Amenities and conveniences common among all residence halls include:

• Wireless internet is accessible everywhere on campus, and all rooms are wired for cable TV

• Complimentary laundry facilities are located in each residence hall

• Residence halls are locked 24 hours a day; each resident is provided an electronic key card to the exterior entrances of their assigned building

RESIDENCE HALL ASSIGNMENT

Once students submit their enrollment deposit, they will complete the required online housing application, followed by a housing questionnaire. Your HPU login credentials will be sent to you after the $500 enrollment deposit is submitted. Beginning on January 14, 2025, the Housing Portal will be open. Students are encouraged to complete their housing application by May 1, 2025.

• Each room is carpeted and includes a standard twin-size bed* and mattress, dresser, desk and chair

* R.G. Wanek Center, University Center-2 and Panther Commons include a full-size bed and mattress

BONUS: HPU's newest residence hall, Panther Commons, has a hair and nail salon, hibachi restaurant and so much more!

FRESHMAN HOUSING

There is no bad place to live at High Point University! Beginning with our standard rooms at the Tier 1 level to our Tier 5 freshman housing options... all the way to our Tier 7 tiny home living for upperclassmen, every space becomes your home away from home and provides a unique living environment for your time at HPU.

Housing Tier 1: Double occupancy room in Belk, Finch, McEwen, Millis, North, Wesley and Yadkin residence halls.

Housing Tier 2*: Three or four bedroom suites in Blessing, single room in Finch and McEwen, and a double occupancy room in University Center-2, R.G. Wanek Center and Wilson Hall.

Housing Tier 3*: Double rooms in Panther Commons.

Housing Tier 4*: Two bedroom suites in Blessing and Panther Commons.

Housing Tier 5*: Single room in University Center-2 and R.G. Wanek Center.

*There will be an additional investment for students choosing an upgraded housing option. Availability of all housing tier options is not guaranteed all four years.

LOCATION: University Center-2 is adjacent to the R.G. Wanek Center, which is filled with food options and study locations

TIER: 2 (double occupancy suites), 5 (single occupancy suites)

GENDER: Coed

OCCUPANCY: Suite-style double occupancy rooms with two rooms (four students) sharing a bathroom, or suite-style single occupancy rooms with two rooms (two or three students) sharing a bathroom

FEATURES: Vibrant and clean carpet, modern furniture with full-size beds and built-in shelves, reading light and power supply, desks with bookshelf and printer stand, mirrored armoires for hanging clothes and storage, a media chest (which can hold a TV up to 42 inches wide), chest of drawers and a coat closet. Each bathroom has a granite vanity with two sinks, large vanity mirror, storage space, private restroom, lighted shower and marble tile floors.

OCCUPANCY: Suite-style with an entrance from an outside balcony-walkway, three and four bedrooms, a lounge area and a shared bathroom. Two students share each bedroom, making a total of six or eight students sharing a bathroom with two toilets, two showers and two sinks.

FEATURES: Vibrant and clean carpet, standard twin-size beds, built-in desks, wall racks and closets

LOCATION: Center of campus, located on the beautiful International Promenade and within walking distance to classes

TIER: 1 (double occupancy), 2 (single occupancy)

GENDER: Coed, Honors Scholar Living, Learning and Wellness Community

OCCUPANCY: Suite-style double occupancy with two rooms (four students) sharing a bathroom

FEATURES: Vibrant and clean carpet, twin beds (standard twin size), desks, dressers and closets

AMENITIES: Common lounge on each floor, sand volleyball courts, study lounges on every floor, 100% wireless internet, walk-in showers, mini-blinds on all windows, ceiling fans, completely furnished, cable TV outlets, free laundry facilities for residents, air conditioned with individual thermostats

Honors Scholars are the only students allowed to remain in this central campus housing during their sophomore year. Finch Hall will not appear on the initial housing application, so Honors Scholar students will need to fill out this application with other preferences.

LUXE LIVING ON HPU'S CAMPUS

QUBEIN ARENA — Houses HPU men's and women's basketball programs and serves as a venue for major events, speakers, concerts, etc. The arena includes luxury suites and seats 4,500 spectators.

THE BUTTERFLY CAFE — One of the most beautiful spaces on campus, this eatery offers handcrafted espresso drinks, gelato and many Mediterranean inspired dishes.

1924 PRIME — A steakhouse and fine-dining learning lab in the R.G. Wanek Center that allows for students to develop Life Skills through etiquette courses and seminars. Employers say that taking a candidate to lunch or dinner is one of the most revealing and important components of the hiring process.

CAINE CONSERVATORY — A scenic space serving as a feast for the senses. Students and visitors can enjoy the sound of crashing waterfalls amid lush and fragrant exotic plants from around the world, all housed in soaring architecture of glass and steel.

POOLS — HPU has six outdoor pools, one indoor pool and six jacuzzi hot tubs that buzz with energy throughout the year. Whether tanning, going for a swim in the heat or just relaxing by the pool with friends, HPU has you covered.

FIRE PITS — They’re available year-round, but during the winter months, the HPU fire pits are especially cozy. You can find fire pits on the Slane patio, outside Cottrell Hall and the fire pit at the center of HPU’s Hayworth Park Island!
