Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT)

High Point University’s Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program combines rigorous academic coursework with impactful clinical experiences, which prepares students to practice as an athletic trainer in a variety of settings. The small student-to-faculty ratio results in a more personalized educational experience.

The Center for Medical Simulation is a cuttingedge educational facility that provides experiential learning opportunities utilizing a variety of high-fidelity patient simulators, standardized patients and task trainers. This combination of approaches allows students to engage in a variety of clinical cases beyond their rotations to ensure they are optimally prepared to provide care across the broad spectrum of clinical practice.
Curriculum
The MSAT program requires students to complete a year-round, six-semester, 24-month curriculum with an aim to create healthcare professionals for the world as it is going to be.
Unique aspects of the curriculum include:
• Six hands-on clinical rotations in professional sports, NCAA Division I, II, and III athletics, public and private high schools, orthopedic physician practice settings, occupational health settings, military and performing arts.
• Extensive use of patient simulations to facilitate deeper learning and clinical decision making.

The Human Biomechanics and Physiology Laboratory is an interprofessional research, teaching and clinical space that houses some of the world’s best equipment and focuses on analyzing human movement and performance.
The Human Anatomy Laboratory partners with the HPU Willed Body Program for cardiac diversion and houses first-semester students in their Gross Human Anatomy Course.
Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (MSBMS)

A Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from HPU will leverage your current knowledge, expertise and technical skill set by providing a student-centered experience, which will prepare you for a career in health professions or entry into the STEM workforce. Upon completion of the program, you will have obtained advanced scientific knowledge geared toward human health, mastered the skills to effectively interpret and communicate science to a broad audience, and acquired research experiences all preparing you for a successful biomedical career.
• Choose from 3-Tracks: Clinical Training, Research Development, or Internship; all culminate in a 10-week capstone project

• Develop a technical skill set valuable to research in biomedical science fields such as cell culture, histological cryosection and staining, molecular biology techniques, immunohistochemistry, and dissection
• Cadaver-based anatomy integrated with EMT and histology courses to provide an immersive curriculum based in experiential and team-based learning
• EMT certification, training, and integration in HPU EMS as campus healthcare providers (if in clinical track)
• Develop critical thinking skills for applying scientific knowledge to clinical-based problem sets and/or case studies
• One-on-one mentoring and professional development with the Director of Biomedical Sciences or an assigned dedicated advisor, and Career and Professional Development

Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS)

• Begins in May and spans 27 months over seven continuous semesters
• Interact with high-fidelity patient simulators equipped with internal robotics that mimic human cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological systems. The simulators have realistic airways, articulated joints and simulated blood, allowing full mobile simulation capabilities.
• Practice on a maternal-fetal simulator to educate you in the management of normal childbirth and complications arising from childbirth and pregnancy.
• Learn hands-on clinical skills in a facility featuring patient examination tables, diagnostic sets, partialtask trainers, equipment and supplies necessary for the acquisition of hands-on clinical skills.
• Observe your standardized patient encounters via a state-of-the-art digital recording system for self-evaluation.
Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)

High Point University’s Workman School of Dental Medicine seeks candidates with diverse backgrounds, unique experiences, and extraordinary aspirations who are prepared for an immersive, self-directed and patientcentered learning journey that is unlike any other. While a foundation in science is desirable preparation for dental school, well-prepared candidates also possess knowledge in humanities, social science and the arts. Non-science majors are encouraged to apply.
The admissions model of the Workman School of Dental Medicine is designed to help create a culture that represents our core values of creativity, innovation, collaboration, teamwork, integrity, trust, leadership and learning. The Prerequisite Phase is the opportunity for candidates to share with our team what makes them ready for the school’s CARE Curriculum and to be exceptional oral healthcare providers ready for the future of dental medicine.
Although there is no minimum GPA and no Dental Admission Test (DAT) score requirement, we seek students who will succeed in our demanding curriculum, as evidenced by their academic preparation, coachability and emotional intelligence, flexibility, and temperament to adapt to changing technologies and the motivation and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse populations.
Program Overview
Starting their first semester, students will spend a significant amount of time rotating through HPU Health practices to provide and observe patient care and learn dental auxiliary roles and functions. All experiential learning occurs in authentic practice environments under the supervision of some of the top clinicians and professionals in the state and country. Student participation in practice will increase with each semester, culminating in full immersion during a student’s third and fourth years in the program.
High Point University will provide personalized tracks to satisfy the career interests of our students. Students will complete coursework and clinicals across most specialties but will tailor their experiences to areas of interest throughout their learning journey in the curriculum..

A hallmark of our online program is the emphasis on experiential learning, including the offer of practicum and internship experiences. This MBA program consists of 30 credit hours (10 courses).

Supply chain management is an essential part of growing a business and securing its competitive advantage. This concentration will be particularly alluring to those who wish to ascend to higher levels of logistical management.
An Extraordinary Online MBA Student Experience
In this program, learners will enhance their leadership skills and gain a comprehensive foundation in functional business areas. They will complete eight-week sessions with breaks between each, with May and December almost completely off.
Yes, the program is virtual, but the engagement is real! All of our faculty still work on campus and stand ready to answer course, advising and career questions in a timely fashion. If you cannot come to campus, you can engage with faculty and your peers via chat, phone or video in a digital campus built on Microsoft Teams; this, in addition to classes that never exceed 50 students, brings you into the HPU family—despite potential distance. You can work anytime, anywhere, but we recommend a minimum of 12 hours per course per week when classes are in session.
