EXTRAORDINARY HPU Story

You are ready to make a smart and strategic decision by applying to transfer to High Point University. Our renowned faculty and staff will prepare you for success in any field. Together, you will hone life skills, become proficient within your field of study and take advantage of innumerable experiential learning opportunities. Let’s begin!

The Basics – Our Transfer Requirements High Point University welcomes applications from students who are interested in transferring from both two- and four-year universities. To be considered as a transfer student, a minimum of 24 semester hours of transferable college-level credit must have been completed or be in the process of completion. If you were admitted to HPU while a senior in high school, then the semester hours requirement is waived. The student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 – 4.0 and must be eligible to return to the previous institution attended. Admission for transfer students is competitive and is offered on a space-available basis. Once the student is admitted to the university, a credit evaluation and degree audit will be completed. If you have any questions about transcript articulation, you may contact the Office of the University Registrar at (336) 841-9029. For students who are transferring from a North Carolina community college, you may visit www.highpoint. edu/registrar to get a list of course equivalents. Please note that this is not a complete list and that there may be some unlisted courses for which you will earn credit.

Being a transfer student, I had a more serpentine college career than most students. HPU enabled me to thrive despite being in a totally new place and has given me the confidence going forward to be adaptable and growthoriented. HPU was a place where I was encouraged to cultivate my faith, which is the driving force in my life. The office of Career and Professional Development helped me explore options as I approached graduation, and they helped me better understand my strengths, goals and dreams when it came to my professional path.
