Dear reader, Welcome to our Fashion issue. At High Rise Life magazine, we love the creative surge of individualism, those who don’t play by the normal rules, the curious revolutionaries who think differently and leave us inspired.
Over the past two years, our team has spent relentless hours perfecting layouts, reviewing hundreds of mood boards, emails, and working on cover interviews through the night.
We have collaborated with artists, authors, curators, photographers and fashion designers throughout the following pages to give you the latest on the fashion world.
Today we salute all of them and their efforts as we mark our two-year anniversary. If it weren’t for all of them, we wouldn’t celebrate today. Their contribution has been, still is and certainly will be crucial to everything that makes High Rise Life magazine a vibrant reality and a monthly event.
This month’s cover star, the German Fashion Designer Philipp Plein has made a dramatic statement with his bold, unexpectedly sexy, and unbridled luxury style. Having launched his fashion clothing label in 2004, Plein now has more than 200 stores worldwide. His refusal to conform within the fashion industry has led to massive success with fans like Paris Hilton, Rita Ora and Lindsay Lohan amongst many. In our exclusive interview, the self-made, rock star of the fashion world shares with us the latest on his growing empire.

Getting Cozy for Fall Fall is in full color display, and we are looking at the winter holiday season right around the corner. In October and November, we take our decorating cues from the beautiful colors of the trees changing into bright golds, oranges and dusty browns. Pillows and accessories hint of harvests with pumpkins and fall foliage on their faces. I love this time of year with the wonderful throws for the sofa in soft wools knitted to keep us warm at night. Let’s look at what that means for you, in your piece of paradise. You made a bold and unique decision when you purchased your piece of real estate―in the sky. Whether you are looking out onto the unique landscape of the southern Nevada desert, or the metropolitan landscape of southern California.

An entirely different view of your world is afforded from these heights. You get to see the changing seasons from a different landscape. It affords you the opportunity to design this special space, not only for your personal comfort, but also to tie into the world around you. Your home in the sky also has unique challenges. How do you fit your huge new purchase in an elevator, and get it in your home? I have a customer who recently purchased a beautiful new leather sofa “pit” which comprised of several pieces in unique sizes and living on the 24th floor was a challenge to those delivering. It looks magnificent looking out over the beautiful Strip of Las Vegas. I can get excited about her Christmas party, with friends and family, sitting on this new furniture and chatting in front of the fireplace.

Stage This Interior Design The lights of the holidays are exciting as well. Think about the fact that your singular piece of real estate gets to view those glittering lights from a bird’s eye view. You can go simple, or extravagant in your own designs, based on the personal choice of your holiday plans. This summer I found a place online that can mount photos on glass. This added a great dimension to the artwork because we could backlight it for evening enjoyment, giving the room a wonderful, colorful focal point. Did you see a special dining room set you would like to add to your party plans? That new sofa caught your eye? When can it be delivered? How soon can you sit on it, enjoying the spectacular view, with a glass of your favorite wine? Make sure you plan well as the closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas you get, the harder the stores have finding a delivery spot for all their buyers.

I love this time of year. I was born during the holiday season. It warms my heart knowing that those around me are enjoying the sights and sounds of the holidays, with their friends and families. Look out on your special vista, watch the population below scurrying to their destination, and enjoy your holiday in your very special place in the sky. Get a wonderful tree and place it where you can view it from anywhere in the room. Have fun! Let your imagination out to play. Your piece of real estate is waiting for your next move! New Panamera GTS and Panamera GTS Sport Turismo Make World Premiere 453 Horsepower Twin-Turbo V8, Sport Suspension and Wide Array of Equipment Porsche today announced the forthcoming addition of two sporty models to its Panamera range. The new Porsche Panamera GTS and Porsche Panamera GTS Sport Turismo models add new breadth to the lineup for customers seeking a sportier driving experience positioned between the Panamera 4S and Panamera Turbo variants. 18

As is typical with any Porsche “GTS” model, the standard equipment list and chassis setup are oriented with enthusiastic driving in mind. The chassis now sits 0.39 inches (10 millimeters) lower than other Panamera models. The Porsche Adaptive Suspension Management (PASM) dampers, which are included as part of the standard Air Suspension, are recalibrated for these models. Large brakes (390 millimeters in diameter at the front, 365 millimeters in diameter at the rear) provide exceptional stopping power. Other standard equipment highlights include the Sport Chrono package, a Sport Exhaust system including tailpipes in black, the Sport Design package with black exterior elements, and black 20-inch Panamera Design wheels. Matching the aggressive exterior aesthetic, black Alcantara ® and anodized aluminum lends an athletic look to the interior. A heated multifunction sport steering wheel in Alcantara trim and the Connect Plus module for a wide range of digital services are also standard. With the optional GTS Interior package, drivers can contrast elements of the interior including stitching, GTS logos, and the tachometer in either Carmine Red or Chalk. In conjunction with the new model announcement, Porsche also announced that an optional head-up display with multiple configurations will become available for ordering on all models in the Panamera line-up. A FIRST FOR THE PANAMERA: HEAD-UP DISPLAY WITH MANY CONFIGURATION OPTIONS
A four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine generates peak output of 453 horsepower from 6,000 to 6,500 RPM and peak torque of 457 lb.-ft. from 1,800 to 4,500 RPM. As compared to the previous Panamera GTS with a naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8, the current engine offers an increase of 13 horsepower and an additional 73 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine, which sends power to all four wheels through an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission via the standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system, allows both the Porsche Panamera GTS and Porsche Panamera GTS Sport Turismo models to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 3.9 seconds. The former reaches a top track speed of 181 mph, or 179 mph for the latter.
The GTS models offer all the same innovations as the second-generation Panamera range. These include the digital Porsche Advanced Cockpit, optional assist systems such as Porsche InnoDrive including adaptive cruise control, and optional rear axle steering. The GTS also offers a highlight that is new to the entire Panamera range – the head-up display. The display can be configured by the driver and projects relevant information directly into their direct line of sight in color. EVEN BETTER FOR DAY-TO-DAY DRIVING: THE FIRST EVER PANAMERA GTS SPORT TURISMO As is tradition at Porsche, GTS derives from Gran Turismo Sport and several historical Porsche models. Porsche’s first road-approved sports car, the 904 Carrera GTS, was launched in 1963. This was followed by the 924 GTS and 928 GTS models, which cultivated the concept throughout the 1980s and 1990s. In 2007, the GTS nomenclature celebrated its revival with the Carrera GTS. The first generation of the Panamera GTS followed in 2011. Now, the new Panamera GTS is available in both sedan and Sport Turismo body styles. With a large lift gate, low loading edge, increased cargo capacity, and 4+1 seating configuration, the new GTS variant is the perfect combination of everyday practicality and outstanding performance.
The new Panamera GTS models are available to order now. In the United States, the Panamera GTS carries a starting MSRP of $128,300; the Panamera GTS Sport Turismo is available with a starting MSRP of $134,500. His passion for rock and roll and keen eye for impeccable quality are strong characteristics of the Philipp Plein brand. His fashion shows have made media headlines with Jet Skis and swimming pools, and performers like Snoop Dogg and Rita Ora entertaining guests, while the space turns into an urban catwalk with bold non-stop drama and style that screams chic.

The German-born Plein was influenced by his passion for the arts, travel and foreign culture at a young age. In 1998 he entered the world of design. Initially, producing exclusive furnishings in steel and leather. His involvement in leather craftsmanship led him to experiment with leather garments and accessories, and finally to launch his own fashion brand in 2004.

Q: What has been an inspiration or driving force behind the Philipp Plein brand for you? The Brand was established 19 years ago and was always a result of a long research of fabrics and innovative technologies; often driven and influenced by my personal taste, experience and the hunger for success. I’m a self-made man, started from stainless steel furniture and slowly step by step I’ve built a now well-established brand through the years.

I just work 24 hours a day. I think that work always pays off. I’m unstoppable and my brain keeps on working even if I’m sleeping. I’ve built a brand, an empire in few years and I’m still growing and learning every day from my mistakes and from my success. Q: Can you tell us about your newest location at the Wynn Las Vegas? This new location is exciting! Las Vegas is really rock n’ roll as I am, and Wynn has always been one of my favorite locations in Las Vegas. I’ve waited for more than one year to choose and obtain the right location and now that I’m there I will make Las Vegas proud to have Philipp Plein. The first location in Crystals is going well and I’m expecting a great success from my last CASH MACHINE at Wynn. Q: What are some of your favorite pieces from your latest Fall/Winter Collection? I’m the one always designing the men’s collection and choosing fabrics, metal accessories, lining, thinking about what I would like to wear every day. All my collections are astonishing, aggressive, but
classy. Absolutely wearable by everybody, but at the same time super luxury and expensive. I like everything I’m designing. Q: Can you tell us about your creative collaboration with Playboy? With Playboy we’ve signed a contract for licensing on February 2018, presenting few looks already during NYFW. Then I’ve created a capsule collection which is sexy, affordable, outrageous, cool and at the same time exclusive. I’ve promoted a DJ CRAZY BUNNY show all over Europe and in HK, showing our Playboy collection in our DOS store. I’m proud of this collection. We’ve worked really hard on it, but the result is a great success worldwide. Q: Any new exciting projects or news you would like to share with us? We have just signed a contract with Universal for a capsule of Scarface, we are planning to do a collaboration with Pablo Escobar Inc., with Rolls Royce and even with Dragon Ball. Kentaro Kameyama and G Sonsie launch their exciting new collaborated line after Paris Fashion Week, which ran through Oct. 3rd. Japanese-born and Los Angeles based designer, Kentaro Kameyama is the newest member of fashion’s “in” crowd as the winner of season 16 of Lifetime’s Emmy-nominated series “Project Runway.” His fashion-forward collection impressed the show’s judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and this year’s finale guest judge, Jessica Alba. The collection was a featured spread in Marie Claire Magazine.

Kentaro Kameyama’s dress designs are often streamlined, understated, and neutral yet display whimsical characteristics. It’s as though this classical pianist and composer is combining his creativity in the music world with his vision for flamboyant fashion. During this show, guests got to enjoy an incredible performance by Electronic R&B Singer/Songwriter JABS, who released the track U&ME featuring Willow Smith. JABS admits being shy, but found it possible to express herself through music. She later found herself opening shows for Jaden Smith and released a music video “All Good” in 2017 directed by Jada Pinkett Smith. Opens at Park MGM This December Italian Culinary Destination Will Open its Sixth U.S. Location at New Las Vegas Resort Eataly, the authentic Italian marketplace, announced today it will open its Las Vegas location at Park MGM, the city’s newest resort, in December 2018. With a residential revival here, the hope is to build a city that not only understands the restrictions of parking, transportation, entertainment, and work within proximity to each other, but to expound on the limitations and think ahead exploring innovative solutions. In an exclusive interview with Las Vegas’ Deputy Director, Jason Thompson, plans to build more residential developments seemed to be a point of excitement for downtown. He elaborated on a couple unique projects the city can expect to see in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2020. Both projects in Symphony Park will be Humphrey Style wrap buildings where a parking structure is built and contained within the residential units. The developments are headed by two groups
called Sutherland and Aspen Heights who are amongst the many investors who have identified Downtown Las Vegas as a burgeoning place to work, play and live. “We’ve seen proof of concept on some of the rental product and as market demands For Sale product, you’ll see more people want to invest and purchase”, says Thompson.
