It has a lot of solos and a lot of cool drum parts and crazy vocals. It’s really fun.

S8nt Elektric is an up and coming band from the Los Angeles area ready to take on the world - they recently concluded a European Tour where amongst their many stops, the band played Prague Rock with the legendary Metallica. Prior to their European adventure, Highwire Daze caught up with S8nt Elektric at The NAMM Show and then attended a Jack Lue photo shoot with the band at The Urban Jungle downtown. Here are some pictures (including the center poster) from the laundry room photo shoot as well as their NAMM Show interview. Read on...

We’re here with S8nt Elektric. Introduce yourself and tell me what you do in the band.

Briana: Hi, my name is Briana and I’m the singer. Niko: Hi, my name is Niko and I’m the guitar player. Jack: I’m Jack and I play bass. Eric: I’m Eric and I play rhythm guitar. London: I’m London and I play drums.

Tell me about your new song Subliminal and the story behind that one.

Niko: So Subliminal is a hard song about how people are divided now because of all of the misinformation and media and everything. It’s kind of a statement about that.

Your band has a European tour coming up. What are you looking forward to the most about this tour?

Briana: I’m so excited because we’re all besties and I’m so excited to travel with my best friends. I’ve never been to Europe at this age, so I know we’re going to have a lot of fun. I’m very excited to meet new people and new fans. I’ve got a lot of messages on Instagram that they’ve bought tickets already and we’re like “Wow! That is so awesome!” But playing the music with my friends and seeing new sites and places that are really beautiful – that’s what I’m excited about. London: The food. Jack: I’m excited to see all of the different countries. I’ve never been to any of these places before – so it will be really exciting to travel through them and to see all these brand new places and getting to play shows at each one. Eric: I’m excited for Prague Rock because I know that’s going to be a killer show. It’s in Prague and we’ll be playing with Metallica, Red Fangs, Steel Panther, Five Finger Death Punch, and others. It’s going to be sick! Niko: We’re just so stoked to have an opportunity like this and we’re just having a fuckin’ blast while doing it. To be able to do it in like Czech Republic is insane. But we’re

ready.

The first time I almost saw your band was at The Whisky during a power failure. What was it like to play at The Whisky in the dark?

London: It was very frustrating. We had a lot of really rad people there – everyone was super excited. We were bummed that the power went out, but we still got to play a little acoustic set, so that was cool. And apologies to the people that came out – it was not our fault!

So you mentioned Metallica. What are you looking forward to the most about opening for the legendary Metallica?

Jack: I’ve seen Metallica play before – they’re super sick to see. It will be really cool just to be on the same stage with them. Maybe we could talk to them backstage or something if we can, but in general just the experience of getting to (open for them) is great!

If S8nt Elektric could open for any band either now or from the past, who would it be and why?

Briana: If I could open for any band, it’s Muse. I love Muse. I love Matt Bellamy – I love the way he sings, he like my inspiration to singing all these different octaves. So definitely Muse. Niko: I have to say I’m on the same page with Muse. They’re like my favorite band ever. Eric: I would love to open for Turnstile. London: I would love to open for The Chili Peppers. That would be sick! Jack: I think my first choice would be King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. That would be so very sick. Eric Jack

And so what’s up next for S8nt Electric?

Briana: In two weeks we’re leaving for Europe, so we’re very excited about that. We’ll be recording new music. We just put out the Subliminal music video – our first music video. And we’re going to start doing more music videos when we come back and probably start writing more songs. We’re very excited to have more opportunities come towards us. But that’s what we’re doing right now – just focusing on Europe. Niko: Also we plan to have our first EP out soon so be on the lookout for that!
