Catholic Retreat“WATER House PURIFICATION“ Water symbolizes pure. Christains use water for purification, which is a process of reborn.

In the retreat house, a journey for experiencing the process of purification is provided. By experiencing different form of water, a stressed and tended body will become refresh and relaxed.

With only 2 retreat centers in Cheung Chau, catholic can only go there to retreat when they have long holiday and after long travelling. Why can’t there be a retreat place near the city but quiet enough?

Using bamboo mood device as an inspiration.

Having a vegetarian diet is a way to make one feel peace. A vegetarian restaurant is a place to let one clear his mind and come down his heart. Therefore, a place with comfortable music and enjoyable environment is needed. In the restaurant, chinese muscial instrument acts as a tool to make one feel relaxed.

Plan zoning is based on sound wave (from the centre where performance is taken place) to the surrounding.

Sectional division is mainly based on elongated lines which representing the rhythm of the instrument.

/F Retail & Recieption Fast food or take-away food is sold because it is a relatively crowded and noise area.

Plan design and division pattern is curvy and circle which based on SOUNDWAVE which started from the center of the whole building where the performance take place.

Sectional division is mainly based on elongated lines which symbolise the RHYTHM of the instrument.

From noise G/F to quiet 2/F, bamboo forest creates a quiet environment for people to clam down their mind. When one walks towards 3/F, sound of fountain and later chinese music (from 3/F) will become clearer.

Design a shop for an online product in Hung Hom Station.

To buy a product which is perfectly suit a person. One need to try it. The retail space is not only for selling products but aslo a place for try and use, so as to experience the brand’s nature feeling and choose their own perfect types of soap.

Using the sensor systems in a low-tech toy to design an interactive furniture.

Light sensor in toy together with several groups of fan outputs to form a partition. Fan suck and blow when people walk by sides.

On and off of lighting sensors and fans were practising on both sides; Testing; Detail; Analysis of sensors; Four groups of sensors and fans systems.

One sensor switched on its own system of fans to produce wavey effect.
