PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

GARY BROTZEL

Dear Friends and Fans of the Sox I am delighted to welcome you to Currie Field for another exciting season of Red Sox Baseball. They say time flies when you’re having fun. We are definitely having fun as we enter our 11th season in the WMBL. The team and franchise continues to evolve and we continue to strive to make improvements on and off the field every year. I firmly believe we are still Regina’s best-kept secret. I ask everyone who reads this message to make a point of bringing a friend or relative who has never been to a Red Sox game to Currie Field for a game this year. The Red Sox name has been a fixture in the Regina Sports Community since 1942. You will see that date proudly displayed on some of our clothing products this year. I would also like to thank all our dedicated fans that have continually supported our team. Thank you for coming out to Currie Field and creating the great atmosphere that our players so enjoy. If you are a first time fan I hope you enjoy the game and we hope to see you again. Thanks to all our 2015 sponsors. Without your support it would be impossible to have this team in Regina. Go Sox! Gary Brotzel Team President

GENERAL MANAGER’S MESSAGE

BERNIE EISWIRTH

Welcome to the 2015 season of Regina Red Sox baseball. This is our 11th year in the Western Major Baseball League and each year the league has gotten better and that means that we have to strive to improve our roster. We have been in the playoffs for 9 straight seasons and won two league championships in 2011 and 2012. We have brought in some exciting players to play alongside our local players and to provide an entertaining brand of baseball. I am excited to watch the progress of our team led by our head coach Scott Douglas and his assistant coaches former Red Sox players Mitch MacDonald and Corey Thompson. Thanks to the sponsors, board of directors and fans that help make each season a success. Please come and introduce yourself to me at the park and we can talk Red Sox Baseball. COACH’S MESSAGE CONT’D ROB CHEREPUSCHAK DIRECTOR OF PLAYER PERSONNEL Rob attended school and played all his minor sports in Regina. Currently, Rob is employed by the Regina Public School Division as the Academy Coordinator of the Martin Academy. After graduating from the University of Regina (Bachelor of Education) in 1998, Rob decided to pursue coaching and help aspiring Saskatchewan athletes achieve personal success. In addition to coaching numerous teams throughout his teaching career, Rob spent five seasons coaching elite programs with Saskatchewan Baseball including the 2005 Canada Summer Games team. After serving as the pitching coach for the Regina Red Sox of the Western Major Baseball League for three seasons, Rob was named the on field manager of the Regina Red Sox. In 3 seasons as the leader of this club, Rob took the team to the WMBL Championship series twice, culminating with championship in 2011. For his efforts, Rob was recognized as the Coach of the year by the WMBL and also the Saskatchewan Baseball Association. In 2012, Rob chose to step down as the on field manager to spend more time coaching and interacting with his young family. However his role with the Red Sox as Director of Player Personnel provided him an opportunity to help put together another championship team in 2012. Rob continues to work as the Director of Player Personnel with the Red Sox and looks forward to working alongside his mentor Scott Douglas again this season.

DARIEN ENGELHARDT TRAINER Darien is entering his second season with the Red Sox after joining the team for the 2014 season. Prior to joining the Red Sox, Darien spent 7 seasons with the Regina Pats and 1 season with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League as an Assistant Trainer as well as 2 seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League as an Assistant Equipment Manager. Darien will be entering his second year of university this year studying Kinesiology at the University of Regina after spending last year at the University of Saskatchewan. Darien resides in Regina with his father Peter, mother Shauna, and brother Dane.
