DEVOTION Making the Tapestry
Have you ever had a bad thing happen to you? I’m sure all of you have. And, I’m sure that when these bad things happen to you, its a little bit hard to see the positives, or the good side. All you can see is the bad thing that has happened.
Do you ever just ask God why he has done something to you? Or why he has put this into position? Well, this is all part of gods amazing plan. Even though it may not look like it, God hasn’t forgotten about you. He can always hear your prayers. But, this is him creating a tapestry. Everyone has a tapestry that God has created. and each thread, good and bad contributes to the end result.
All the colours of the thread make something beautiful that God has planned. So next time somehting bad happens to you, don’t think of it as a punishment, think of it as god threading another part of his amazing tapestry he has planned for you.

The Taste of Cooly
Throughout term 2, the Marketing team has been lucky enough to explore the food businesses of Coolangatta. Students and teachers have visited places such as Oakberry, which provides acai or smoothie bowls for a healthy lunch option as well as a power boost for the day. Followed by Gelatissimo, a delightful and delicious ice cream shop who have refreshing gelato flavours to offer. As well as the well-known Pancake Diner who provided an outstanding menu full of delicious food and drinks all while the vintage diner-like atmosphere left us in awe. Another beloved café within Coolangatta is Bread Social, this café has extremely friendly staff as well as the most delectable food.
March 2024
When I went to Korea, it felt like a dream The flight there was filled with excitement and wonder of what we will experience in the trip. We met our home stay families and walked the streets of Korea We ate a variety of cultural foods and fully emerced and embraced oursleves in the culture
My highlight was hiking up a large mountain to visit a temple. We travelled up 1000 steps and through caves and rocks to get to the beautiful views, and arts of the temples. It was truly and life changing experience that I will never forgetOlivia
Cooly Rocks On
Cooly Rocks On is a annual festival held right here in Cooly. It is a mixture of both a showcase of 60's cars, markets, food stalls, and live 60's music.
This festival is a family friendly event that promotes colorful and happy vibes for everyone of all ages to enjoy. While these vintage cars are not only perfect for photos and display, but are also for sale.
Come and listen to 60's folk music and have a dance on the dance floor dressed in colours.
Along with this, there are many markets and stalls to support small local buisnesses.
While your at it, why not stop and treat yourslef to some award winning ice cream that dot the trail. This is a fantastic production that would make a fantastic day out.
Using our Helping Hand
Last weekend, a small bunch of students went out of their way to volunteer down at the surf club during the cooly rocks on fesitval. They made burgers and sausages and handed them out to the public. We give a massive thankyou to all the students who put their hand out to lend a hand to our beloved surf club.
Exploring the Deep
A wonderful opportunity that is provided within the Rise Program is Ocean X. Ocean X is a Future Fridays option which is beloved by the year 9 cohort as it advertises amazing activities for the students to participate in.
Over the last couple of weeks students have begun to start snorkeling in Tweed River, and the response is overwhelmingly positive with one student saying “Ocean X is one of the best Future Friday options, but I must say I’m a bit biased. We have had so many amazing opportunities from this elective that I don’t think any other year 9’s would have gotten! We got the chance to go snorkeling in a local creek and saw many fish and other marine life! Overall, I’m grateful that I have taken and gotten this opportunity and I highly recommended anyone and everyone to check it out next time that it is shared.” –
