Hurricane Relief Fund
Hurricane Fiona cost $700,000,000, according to CBC news. As a College, we raised and donated $8888.05 to the Canadian Red Cross to help people recover from the damage made by the hurricane. Way to go HSC!!!
Where it Started
To my knowledge, the hurricane formed near the Dominican Republic and then moved north, getting smaller and smaller. It hit New Brunswick and then turned into a storm.

Damage in Canada
There was big damage to houses and businesses. The damage was worse in Nova Scotia than in New Brunswick because it was closer to the coast and because its coastline is longer.

Meet Robert Munsch
By Rashed & OwenRobert Munsch is the new fish in the Learning Commons. He is a betta splendid. He is dark blue. He can't be with other fish because one fish would eat the other fish. Ms. Rogers got a fish because she wanted something alive to show kindness towards.
Grade one and two students voted for the colour of the fish, and grades three and four voted for the name.

Mrs. Bent has two dogs. Fred is the big black dog. He is a 100pound Old English Sheepdog Poodle mix. He’s very gentle but his tail is strong so he sometimes knocks things over by accident.
Happy is a small dog. She came from a place where she didn’t get much love but she gets lots now. Happy is small, but she’s always the boss!

Book Review
By Louise and BukayoIf you like the Wings of Fire series, you will also like the Warriors series.
Wings of Fire
You should read the Wings of Fire series by Tui T. Sutherland because they are very exciting and interesting books. There is also a little bit of mystery mixed in.
A sneak peek: How the books are exciting: It is fun reading both the chapter books and graphic novels!
The first five books are mostly about five dragonets trying to stop a war* [a dragonet is a baby dragon]. There are a lot of close calls for the dragonets. The books in the series used to be only chapter books, but now there are graphic novels up to book five.
A bit about the book... “Since the death of the sandwing queen, Queen Oasis, the tribe is split between three rivals for the throne: sisters Burn, Blister, and Blaze.” All the tribes disagree about the right rival for the throne for their own reasons [mostly about territory]. The five dragonets are supposed to choose the next sandwing queen.
About The Author Tui T. Sutherland is The author of Wings Of Fire and countless other books. She is part of Erin Hunter, who created the series Warriors. Tui lives with her husband, two kids, and her dog in Massachusetts.

HSC ATHLETICS
Cross Country
by Paige & BukayoThis fall our U10 cross-country athletes competed with passion and a desire to improve. They practiced twice a week throughout the season exploring the HSC campus while having fun and building endurance. They had three competitions where they raced against a variety of other CISAA schools. Each time they ran the athletes had new personal bests! They formed a great team of athletes who supported, encouraged, and cheered each other along the way. Great memories were made! Go, HSC!
U9 Soccer
This fall our U9 soccer team worked hard to improve their skills. They all put forth their best effort and had a great time.
U10 Soccer
The U10 soccer team went undefeated for the season and ended with winning the Champion of Character banner.
Game Review of Gorilla Tag
By HoldenThis is a review of the video game Gorilla Tag It is a VR game where your goal is to be the last standing. If you don’t know what VR stands for, it stands for Virtual Reality. In Gorilla Tag, you put on the VR headset. You will see gorilla hands and arms You can use your hands and arms to move your body in the game. The first thing you have to do is jump over the mini wall and trust me, it is not easy. When you get over the wall, you will see two options The first option is running up a ramp The second option is wall jumping which is like climbing with two hands. When you are higher, you will see the edge, and you can observe it or just jump down and join an online game of tag To tag someone, you touch them The game randomizes the person who is it, and everyone has a turn to be it.
This is a really interesting game and fun to play with friends You can play by yourself or online with other people. I would recommend it to kids ages 8+.

Cheetahs are the only big cat that cannot roar. They can purr though and usually purr most loudly when they are grooming or sitting near other cheetahs. Slugs have four noses. Some cats can swim.
