THE ANDREA TKACZYK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

To honour the memory of Andrea Tkaczyk, late wife of HSC Patron Jeffrey Paikin ’80 and late mother of Natasha ’13, Alexa ’15, and Sasha ’17, Hillfield Strathallan College and friends of Andrea will establish The Andrea Tkaczyk Memorial Scholarship. This Scholarship will celebrate one student annually who demonstrates personal compassion and empathy.

Andrea was an accomplished nurse who spent her professional life caring for people who needed it most. Over the years of her career, she dedicated her time to the ICU, the stroke prevention clinic, medical research, and the breast cancer clinic.

Andrea was a perpetual optimist whose glass was always half full. To her last day, she always had a moment to thank those who helped her, proof that she always put the needs of others ahead of herself.

The Scholarship will be awarded to a Grade 12 student pursuing a career in Nursing or Health and Wellness that improves the life of individuals or communities. This student is ideally someone who exudes a sense of optimism and positivity, values education and family, and understands the importance of supporting their community by giving back. The student shall be a well-rounded leader in our community who demonstrates the ideals of the College: integrity, respect, community, determination and individuality.

The Scholarship is valued at $1,000.

All candidates will be required to answer the following set of questions for the selection committee to demonstrate their positivity, passion for a career in Health, and commitment to their community members.

By creating this scholarship, we hope to celebrate Andrea, her love of education, and her passion for her community.

In loving memory
