Order of Service Piper Mr. Mark Mitchell (Please stand)

Processional Mr. Bart Nameth, College Pianist National Anthem HSC Wind Symphony

O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. Car ton bras sait porter l’épée, Il sait porter la croix! Ton histoire est une épopée Des plus brillants exploits. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

The College Prayer Ignatius Loyola Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest; to give and not to count the cost; to fight and not to heed the wounds; to toil and not to seek for rest; to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do Thy will. Amen. (Please be seated)

Hymn O God Our Help in Ages Past I. Watts, 1719

O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Our shelter from the stormy blast, And our eternal home.

Under the shadow of Thy throne, Thy saints have dwelt secure; Sufficient is Thine arm alone, And our defence is sure.

Before the hills in order stood, Or earth received her frame, From everlasting thou art God, To endless years the same.

A thousand ages in Thy sight Are like an evening gone; Short as the watch that ends the night, Before the rising sun.

Time like an ever-rolling stream, Bears all its sons away; They fly forgotten, as a dream Dies at the opening day.

O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Be Thou our guard while troubles last, And our eternal home.

Where Have All The Flowers Gone? Words and music by Pete Seeger Senior Vocal Ensemble Middle School Choir Treblemakers Liane McPhee, flute Ms. Kate Boose and Ms. Ona Gutauskas, Directors Mr. Bart Nameth, Accompanist Video Recorded at Essex Farm during the HSC Vimy Ridge trip in April 2017 Introduced by Olivia Valente, Braden Marshall and Jacob Rudolph In Flanders Fields by John McCrae, May 1915

In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Recessional to the singing of the College Hymn HSC Wind Symphony The College Hymn Praise My Soul Henry F. Lyte, 1834

Praise, my soul, the King of Heaven; To His feet thy tribute bring. Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, Who like me His praise should sing? Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise the everlasting King.

Praise Him for His grace and favour To our fathers in distress; Praise Him still the same for ever; Slow to chide, and swift to bless. Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Glorious in His faithfulness.

Father-like, He tends and spares us; Well our feeble frame He knows; In His hands He gently bears us, Rescues us from all our foes. Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Widely as His mercy flows.

Lest We Forget

Frail as summer’s flower we flourish; Blows the wind and it is gone; But, while mortals rise and perish, God endures unchanging on. Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise the high eternal One.

Angels, help us to adore Him; Ye behold Him face to face; Sun and moon, bow down before Him, Dwellers all in time and space. Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise with us the God of grace.

Remembrance Day Reception Please join us in the Spallacci Gym following the Remembrance Day Service. A light luncheon will be served.

Our Fallen Every year the HSC community gathers for the College’s annual Remembrance Day ceremony to remember and honour the 47 alumni killed in the two World Wars.
