FIRE RESISTANCE FROM HMG POWDER COATINGS

HMG Powder Coatings have long supplied technology led powder coatings for use in the transportation, construction, and architectural markets. Fire resistance testing has developed many testing protocols over the years, and the latest EU and UK regulations require that materials must meet only the highest standards regarding smoke and fume emission.

Our current construction classification of A2-s1-d0 has been expanded to cover our full Polyester range of materials including our functional coatings offering Anti-Microbial, Structured products and Anti Gassing properties. Our partners at Warrington Fire have enhanced our fire resistance performance and testing for the following industries

The range has been tested to EN 45545-2+A1 Annex C and meets the requirements of London Underground S1085 ‘Fire Safety Performance of Materials’ and is Authorised for use by Transport for London, Certificate Number: 2434. For the rail industry all of the HMG product technology’s meet Spread of Flame: ISO 5658 and Heat Release: 5660 specification for all overground rail applications

Aerospace

The range has been tested for seating & trim applications to the following standards:

FAR/JAR 25.853(a) Appendix F Part I (a) (1)(i) (Flammability)

FAR/JAR 25.853(d)/(c) Appendix F Part IV (g) (Heat Release)

FAR/JAR 25.853(d)/(c) Appendix F Part V (b) (Smoke Emission)

Airbus Industries ABD0031 paragraph 7.3.2 (Smoke Emission)

Airbus Industries ADB0031 paragraph 7.4 (Smoke Toxicity)

Marine

The range meets the requirements and is certified to the Wheelmark and Black Ensign standards (Marine Equipment Directive and Marine Equipment Regulations MED/MER respectively). Products are certified and labelled on order.

Colour Availability

A wide range of BS and RAL colours are available from stock. All colours from BS 5252, BS 4800, BS 381C, RAL. “Having our entire polyester range formally tested and approved gives specifiers the freedom to express their designs and choose from the extensive range of finishes and colours available from the stocked range, or from our tailor-made solutions.” explained Robert McIlorum, Sales Manager at HMG Powder Coatings Ltd.
