R&D

Research & Development THE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT PROCESS within an industrial company is concerned with studying technological innovations to improve its products, create new ones and optimize production processes. In a furniture company, the R&D department is constantly working to come up with new products and innovative manufacturing methods. This is achieved through collaboration between the firm's designers and technicians, who have the professional skills needed to push themselves beyond the limits of innovation and experimentation, while maintaining artisanal talent and aptitude. The technical department, along with the prototype laboratory, presides over the process of innovation, from the initial evaluation of needs to putting new models into production, working with designers to plan new designs, analyzing their feasibility, suggesting modifications and improvements and also analyzing production costs. The relationship with the manufacturing department is also fundamental, monitoring the process of making prototypes and manufacturing the new product, seeking to get the most out of production resources and maximizing investments. It is only thanks to the fruitful synergy between the Research Centre and the designers, combined with the profound know-how developed during numerous research projects that the company can offer innovative, functional products with an unmistakable style.

, MOSCOW S Mercury Tower

Giorgetti at Moscow’s Mercury Tower GIORGETTI HAS CREATED A TAILOR-MADE PROJECT IN MOSCOW: a two-story apartment at the Mercury City Tower, Russia's second tallest skyscraper, located in the city's international business district. Giorgetti's collections are displayed in the 550 m2 space, from the living room featuring Urban sofas, the dining room with comfortable Diana chairs, to the bedroom with the Altea bed, but also a wellness room, a relaxation area with a billiards table and Fabula sofas, and a home theatre, together creating a highly luxurious residence. Designed by the architect Daniele Lo Scalzo Moscheri, the architecture is contemporary and linear. Each room faces a different view of the city and the natural light, which filters through the special windows, becomes an important feature of the space by enhancing the furnishings. Giorgetti's long, historic traditions and cabinet-making expertise allowed it to take on this turnkey project, responding to the growing demand for exclusive, unique and personalized solutions.

PROGETTI 30: Progetti Sense

PROGETTI 30: Progetti Sense PROGETTI SENSE IS THE SECOND MODEL IN THE PROGETTI 30 RANGE, launched to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the iconic Progetti armchair. This chair plays on tactile sensation with two contrasting upholstery options: the natural look of very thick aniline leather and the technology of the innovative Podium fabric, giving an exceptional sensation of dynamism and practicality. Upholstery is an important part of a piece furniture to which we attribute a personal and sometimes emotional value. For this reason, upholstery needs to be not only high quality, but also capable of communicating emotions. PODIUM, a hi-tech, fire resistant fabric with a honeycomb structure, is made from a blend of special fibers. It is extremely tactile and has a threedimensional, high-definition effect, thanks to the fineness of its yarns. PELLE ANILINA SENSE. Aniline leather with a natural look and the feel of peach skin. It is known for its exceptional softness, which produces an immediate sensory experience and is the result of choosing from the best hides available. Any variations in color or surface imperfections should be considered desirable and are normal features of a full-grain product, where the original traits of the animal's skin are maintained and enhanced.

NEWS FROM MILAN

NEWS from Milan NEW YORK NEW YORK "New York New York. Italian Art: rediscovering America" is on show at the Museo del Novecento and the Gallerie d’Italia. The exhibition presents the stories of the Italian artists who traveled, lived, worked and exhibited their work in the United States, particularly in the Big Apple, or who simply imagined the new world, all of them searching for a freer spirit and ideas that were different from those found in Europe.

BIBLIOTECA BRAIDENSE Founded by Maria Theresa of Austria, the Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense (Braidense National Library) is one of Italy's largest libraries. Built in 1770, it is now located in the beautiful Palazzo di Brera in Milan. Its treasures are without equal and range from its book collections (historic and literary works, illuminated choir books, manuscripts and autographs) to the walnut wood shelves built by Giuseppe Piermarini and its splendid chandeliers in Bohemia crystal.
