UNIQUENESS
Uniqueness TO CREATE UNIQUENESS, to invent distinctive objects and emotions that will be remembered: isn’t every company’s dream to stand out and make a difference? There’s no real recipe for becoming unique, but a few ways to do so are certainly to protect creativity, to be visionaries and provide the innovative drive that brings originality to life. Innovation must be complete and found at all levels of an organization for it to reinvent itself strategically and become more competent, quicker and more ingenious. Each project may also be unique as it can be custom-made, designed and created exclusively for a particular customer. Brand recognition can come from listening to the customer, then re-elaborating those needs to create a design with an exclusive language that represents and promotes the customer’s identity and values. The uniqueness of an object, in fact, almost always includes two aspects: exclusivity and desirability, born of a creative and curious soul with an extraordinary ability to convey emotion. Even imperfections become narrative elements that tell the story of the specific object and its peculiarities. This means assigning value to products that can age and be modified, where the natural imperfections of the raw materials reveal the formal perfection of the finished product.
PROGETTI 30 in Singapore
Progetti 30 in Singapore THE NEW, 30TH ANNIVERSARY VERSIONS OF THE PROGETTI ARMCHAIR HAVE ARRIVED IN SINGAPORE. Pure and Sense, the first two original versions for this anniversary, were presented in our overseas atelier with an event on September 20th to celebrate this iconic armchair. Guests were able to sip excellent champagne and enjoy delicious food while comfortably seated on two Progetti chairs: Pure, a limited-edition version that, according to its designer, Umberto Asnago, represents "an idea born 30 years ago made current simply by stripping it down", and Sense, a play on the tactile experience of the two coverings offered, thick aniline leather and Podium innovative fabric, for an extraordinary sense of dynamism and functionality.

In the nearby dining area, the Blade table stands out with special gradient-effect glossy lacquer in shades of violet and plum, along with Ala chairs, both designed by Umberto Asnago for the latest edition of the Salone del Mobile in Milan. Some objects from the Giorgetti Atmosphere collection, like the Kendama lamp and Optical rug complete the spaces. Taking center stage was the Open-air collection, a broad, diverse outdoor collection launched this year, bringing Giorgetti design to an area of the residential world where relaxation and an active social life prevail. Almost stealing the show, the completely versatile Apsara modular seating designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba was accompanied by tables and rocking chairs from the Gea collection, designed by Chi Wing Lo to celebrate the beauty and openness of outdoor lifestyles.

ETTORE SOTTSASS. THERE IS A PLANET In the year of the centenary of his birth and ten years since his death, Milan’s Triennale Design Museum has dedicated a solo exhibition to Ettore Sottsass (Innsbruck 1917 – Milan 2007). "There is a Planet" is a project that collects, in five groups, photographs taken by the master in the course of his travels around the world: photos of architecture, houses, doors, people, situations that relate to living and the presence of man on the planet in general. It’s a great tribute to one of the central figures of twentieth-century Italian design.
