SPECIAL EVENTS HHSO YOUTH CONCERTO COMPETITION: February 6, 2016 The Youth Concerto Competition will be held at St. Luke’s Church on February 6, 2016 at 1:30 pm. Since 2000, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra has sponsored this program for youngsters under age 18. Its purpose is to provide talented young musicians the opportunity to perform standard orchestral repertoire from memory before an audience. The HHSO is proud to present this Concerto Competition with the hopes of inspiring a younger generation to pursue their goals in the world of music. HILTON HEAD INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION (HHIPC): March 7-14, 2016 The Hilton Head International Piano Competition, one of the leading international piano competitions in the United States, holds its 21st competition on March 7 – 14, 2016. Twenty of the world’s best pianists, ages 18-30, compete in four exciting rounds of competition, with 3 Finalists performing with the HHSO for $34,000 in cash prizes plus concerts. SYMPHONY UNDER THE STARS: April 5 and 6, 2016 In April, 2016, the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra will offer its annual “Symphony Under the Stars” in a large festive tent at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn under the baton of John Morris Russell. Patrons can enjoy dinner with friends at tables of 10 and then relax and enjoy this lively program. Table groups use the concert themes to inspire costumes, table decorations and dinner menus as they compete for a variety of prizes. What a fun way to get into the spirit of this exciting evening!
