CHANCELLOR’S MESSAGE
Hindustan University is one of the premier institutions in the country focused on academic excellence. Our laurels prove our commitment and dedication to the nation as well as to the global scientific community. 155 Research Scholars have registered within a short span of four years in our institution. The Centres of Excellence across the Departments have established the state-of-the-art facilities with rich content and offers wide opportunities to the research scholars. The other departments are also enhancing their research capabilities. Many faculty have produced research articles and presented technical papers across global forums earning themselves and the University immense credibility. The faculty have to realize our commitment to the global society. In a recent speech, the Indian President Shri. Pranab Mukherjee quoted, “Not a single Indian University figured on the list of 200 top rated Universities globally, including the premier IITs” and has emphasized that faculty members need to develop ‘scientific temperament’ and provide appropriate learning experience to the students. There must be more collaborations, exchanges and cross-pollinations with the best minds in India and abroad. India has 260 central laboratories, 540 Universities, 20000 colleges and 3 millions scientists. The third largest in the world but is unable to convert its gigantic mass of mediocrity into excellence. Good Universities yearn for funds, while bad ones fritter away resources. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said that the public investment in R&D has been growing at more than 20%. What he didn’t say is that this investment is just 0.91% of our GDP, while that of China’s is 1.46%. He also said that the scientific publications by Indian scientists in India have grown at 12% against the global average of 4%. What he didn’t say is that India published only 2.5 Lakhs scientific papers in 2010 compared to 9.7 Lakhs by China.

Hindustan University, a blossoming young University with a rich heritage and commitment for excellence has full time and part time Doctoral Programmes in various disciplines of Engineering and Technology, Science and Humanities. The University also offers MS (By Research) and M.Phil. Programmes in all subjects both Part Time and Full Time. The University has highly accomplished faculty with rich experience in Industry, R&D Organisations and National Institutions who guides the research scholars. The Research and Consultancy Department has been strengthened to promote sponsored research, consultancy and academic research. The University has a vision to transform itself into a technology generator and as one of the best Teaching and Research Institutions by the end of the decade. The University has established many Centres of Excellence and few more are in the offing. These Centres have active collaborations with Academia abroad and National Institutions. THE UNIVERSITY
Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (Hindustan University) was started in 1985 by the great visionary Late Dr. K. C. G. Verghese. Today, Hindustan has emerged as one of Asia’s pioneering Institutes in Engineering and Aviation Technology. Students from several countries, across Asia and Africa, have come to study in our modern campus. The Institute was awarded the university status in 2008. Since then, the Institute has been expanding its research programmes. It has qualified faculty, several well equipped laboratories, advanced research facilities with efficient computing and networking capabilities. The University conducts UG & PG programmes across disciplines. The University has several sponsored research projects funded by different external funding agencies and also sponsors research projects to encourage the faculty.

ABOUT RESEARCH PROGRAMMES
Hindustan University provides ample opportunities for research scholars and students to hone their research skills. The purpose of Research is to ask questions and solve problems. The institution has exceptional resources, with unique capabilities. The knowledge that is generated in the University is applied to solve real-world problems. By combining cutting - edge research with graduate and undergraduate education, the University also trains the next generation of leaders, with realistic perception and problem solving ability. The scholars participate in research studies through Ph.D, M.S and M Phil. Programmes. The faculty of Engineering, Science, Humanities and Management engage in emerging research areas, resulting in acclaimed publications in International, National journals and patents. 8.1 TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION, FORECASTING AND ASSESSMENT COUNCIL (TIFAC) CENTRE OF RELEVANCE AND EXCELLENCE (CORE)
TIFAC-CORE in Aircraft Maintenance is a world class facility which caters to the growth and sustainability of the aviation sector. CORE focussed on developing skilled manpower in the area of aircraft maintenance, synergising the strength of the institute and adequately supported by the government. The areas of Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics, Aircraft Instrumentation and Aircraft Management are explored with emphasis on training on live aircrafts. TIFAC-CORE in Aircraft Maintenance offers Post Graduate Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance for engineering graduates and short term courses for employees of Industry. Over 800 engineers of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, (HAL) have undergone specialized training in Aeronautics & Manufacturing Technology, Introduction to Avionics, Aircraft Design & Manufacturing and Aerodynamics & Avionics. TIFAC-CORE also conducts short term training in Airframe Repair and Maintenance for industry aspirants and offers consultancy for Aviation Industry. 8.2 CLEAN ENERGY AND NANO CONVERGENCE CENTRE, (CENCON)
The world hovers over the issue of solving the energy crisis and the want for exploring novel and clean energy solutions exploiting nano-technology, Hindustan University identified this thrust area as one social relevance. Thus, the Clean Energy and Nano Convergence Centre, CENCON was established in collaboration with Dongguk University, South Korea. The centre was inaugurated by His Excellency, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India on 6th January 2011 and Dr. Borje Johansson, Professor at KTH, Stockholm, Sweden. CENCON is a member of the International Consortium on Nano Convergence. The Centre is exploiting the properties of materials at the Nano scale for various applications by developing products meeting a relevant societal requirement besides providing consultancy services. The thrust areas for such applications include Solar cells, Photocatalysts, Water technology, Nano medicine, Super Quantum computers, Portable power generation, Hydrogenation, Energy Harvesting, Sustainable energy , Bio-imaging and Sensors. 8.3 CENTRE FOR DEFENCE TECHNOLOGY STUDIES (CDTS)

The Centre for Defence Technology Studies (CDTS) was conceived by Hindustan University in early 2012. The CDTS was inaugurated in July 2012 by French Ambassador His Excellency Francois Richier in the presence of the Chancellor Dr. (Mrs) Elizabeth Verghese, Commodore (Retd) S. Shekhar (Joint Director), Dr. Gopalji Malviya (Dean, CDTS). The University has planned to develop the CDTS as Centre of Excellence in the University. CDTS aims to conduct academic programmes leading to Degree, Diploma, M.Phil and Doctoral research. The CDTS would also play a role of advisory and consultative unit consisting of eminent personalities drawn from Tri-services, Defence R&D, Scientists, Academia and Industries. Expertise from corporate world would also be solicited to enhance the teaching and training modules. The curriculum is designed to focus on defence technology, defence management, defence studies and strategic analysis. The training programme for various stake holders would be tailored to suit their respective requirements for enhancing the skills. The certification of on-going programme could also be considered within the University’s norm. While defence education would be a key concept at the CDTS, the micro security issues and macro strategic concerns would define the scope and bandwidth of the academic programmes at the Centre. The on-going academic interactions with Cranfield University (UK) would be strengthened and areas of mutual interests in the field of Defence education and training are being explored. Consultations are on with few other international organizations having the expertise in Defence technology for collaborative academic arrangements. Organizing academic discourse by the CDTS jointly with other leading organizations is also conceived. Publication of books, monographs and occasional papers also forms the future agenda at the CDTS. The academic programmes will be launched shortly.

8.4 CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN PHOTONICS AND LADAR RESEARCH (CEPLAR)

Centre of Excellence in Photonics and LIDAR Research (CEPLAR) has been established through a MoU signed between Hindustan University and IISc, Bangalore with a focus to carry out investigations on atmospheric aerosols especially, the elementary carbon or black carbon in the atmosphere. A 532.5nm operated Micro pulse LIDAR*, a seven channel Aethalometer and a Dust Trak equipment (for aerosol mass concentration measurement) have been installed in the Lab. Investigations carried out using these equipments are capable of providing valuable information for Optical Remote Sensing, Free Space Optical Communication, Atmospheric Correction, etc.

8.5 HINDUSTAN - SIMULATION AND ENGINEERING DESIGN FACILITY (H - SIMENDES)
The Centre will teach and research on the best practices in Product Life Cycle Management through virtual product design, virtual product testing, virtual product manufacturing and virtual collaboration for product development. Also, prototypes of the product will be manufactured so that the technology, can be transferred to the Industries. This will include Reverse Engineering Process also. Product Lifecycle Management is a continuous process that enables an enterprise to effectively and efficiently innovate and manage its products and related services throughout the entire business lifecycle, from initial conception to production, maintenance and recycling or disposal. The simulation facility will deliver higher quality results in a timely and cost efficient manner. The simulation software leverages the capacity of innovation for companies of all sizes and in all industries by delivering breakthrough productivity design solutions powered by a highly collaborative platform. The software enables the full spectrum of next generation collaborative virtual design including systems engineering, shape design, mechanical and equipment engineering, and company knowledge reuse. 3D printers produce physical prototypes quickly, easily, and inexpensively from computer-aided design (CAD) and other digital data. Real-Time 3D Visual Simulation techniques are used to make better decisions in a variety of creative ways that solves unique issues and requirements in Defence, Aerospace, Avionics, Urban Planning and Air Traffic Control and Training applications.

8.6 ROBOTICS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SYSTEMS (ROBOARTIS)
ROBOARTIS, the Centre of Excellence for Design, Robotics and Automation, an initiative of the University has been established for promoting “Industrial Automation with Robotics”. It is an interdisciplinary centre involving the Schools of Electrical Sciences, Computing Sciences and Mechanical Sciences. The main objective of the ROBOARTIS is to study and apply advanced engineering research in design of robotics, sensor/actuator development, expert systems and artificial intelligence, and automation. The main aim of the Centre is to solve problems in environment, energy, natural resources, materials, transportation, information, medicine, and other industries, which are not amenable to traditional solutions within a single discipline, but rather require a multi-disciplinary systems approach to integrate technologies. PROJECTS COMPLETED • Design, development and demonstration of Wall climbing Robot for inspection of defects on the surfaces of High rise buildings in inaccessible areas. • Design, development and demonstration of prototype Solar powered Tapioca Harvester • SAM, an Android Humanoid was designed by EIE student Mr. Shyam Nair using the Cascaded Computational Intelligence. 8.7 CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN DATA MINING (C-DAM)
Centre of Excellence in Data Mining has been established in collaboration with Accenture, Industry partner and AU-KBC, Academic partner. The aim of the centre is to expose the students to real time projects of industry and research centres. The Department has already initiated efforts to jointly collaborate with them in organizing seminars and undertake research projects together. As a part of this initiative various activities were held to emphasize the significance of incubating a Centre of excellence in this direction. 8.8 CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN SUSTAINABLE INFRA-STRUCTURE (CENSIS)
Need in today’s Infra-structural design and construction lies in the dimension of ecological and environmental sustainability. The proposed centre of excellence will provide the necessary inputs for different types of infra-structural systems ranging from residential to heritage structures and systems. The centre will have • Material cell • Model and prototype test cell • Analytical Model cell • Knowledge source cell and • Consultancy cell Material cell will provide basic material characteristics at meso, micro and nano levels. Model and prototype cell will conduct model and prototype experiments, which will guide in the development and implementation of green and sustainable technology in different disciplines. Analytical Model cell is the core for developing, numerical testing and consulting for different field problems. Knowledge source cell will provide facilities for storage of data and developmental activities. Consultancy cell offers consultancy, advice and solution to practical problems.

8.9 CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN MOTORSPORT VEHICLE DESIGN CENTRE (MODEC)
The centre of excellence focuses on the design and fabrication of motor sports vehicles. The lifestyle and passion of the Automobile Engineering Department is to develop state of the art and innovative motor sports vehicles. Motor sports are the group of competitive events which primarily involve the use of motorized vehicles, whether for racing or non-racing competition. MotoSport refers to motorcycle racing specifically and includes off-road racing such as motocross. The department is involved in design and development of Motor Sport vehicles like BAJA SAE INDIA (All terrain vehicles), Formula IMechE, Formula SAE, Supra etc are few of the avenues. This centre facilitates design, analysis, fabrication and testing of the vehicle. All sub components like braking, suspension, steering, roll cage are analyzed on advanced software and also fabricated in house. Students are selected for the projects through written examination and personal interview under the guidance of Faculty Advisors and the Head of the Department. This work leads to blending of knowledge and practical skills for students. The students secure placements as a result of their involvement in such competitions. SPONSORS:

8.10 CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN CULTURAL HERITAGE AND ART CONSERVATION STUDIES
The Centre of Cultural Heritage and Art Conservation Studies is committed to conserve the rich, varied heritage and cultural properties of India. This centre is set amidst the lush green campus of the University which facilitates a multi disciplinary study, research and innovation that focuses on developing practical and effective strategies for prevention, preservation and conservation of cultural properties. At the Center, heritage, archeology, history, culture, anthropology and art are studied elaborately encompassed within various courses. Courses on research, analyzing techniques, theoretical philosophies, approaches and methods are taught by eminent academicians and professionals. The institute also has cooperation with various other research organizations, governmental agencies and NGOs to facilitate knowledge sharing process. The centre will also conduct and organize training sessions and capacity building exercises for students, young professionals, mid career professionals to traditional craftsmen. 8.11 CENTRE OF EXCELLENECE IN “CYBER SECURITY”
The school of Computing Sciences has initiated a Centre of Excellence on “Cyber Security”. Cybersecurity is the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. In a computing context, the term security implies cybersecurity. This competency centre on “Cyber Security” has been proposed to be formed with the domain expertise from Hindustan University, Digital Security group of Cognizant Technology Solutions, Chennai, Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS), Chennai and Cyber Security Unit of Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG). 8.12 APPS DEVELOPMENT LAB (I’LAB)
The centre focuses on the design and development of applications for various operating systems. An app is a type of software that allows to perform specific tasks. Apps have become the must-have tech accessory for many people and businesses. However, not many people or small businesses have the know-how or means to create highly functional and individualized apps. The I’lab will be designed to fill the gap between over-simplified apps and costly, professionally-produced apps. It presents myriad personalization opportunities with a unique interface that guides creators through the entire process from creation, to editing, to publication with visual and textual clues at each step. As creators build apps page by page, each app becomes more personalized through limitless combinations of background colors and fonts and the ability to upload images and videos from personal libraries. The I’lab is situated in the research centre with 30 high end systems (Quad - Core Processor, high definition graphics with LED Screens and other innovative features).

8.13 CRYSTAL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (CRYCEN)
The centre focuses to continuously upgrade the research activities and to contribute in the frontier areas of research and technology relevant to crystal growth and characterisation. OBJECTIVE • The centre is aimed towards the development of organic and semi organic single crystals, which possess an excellent nonlinear optical property. • To grow high quality crystals that can be used in the area of sensors. • To grow new crystals such as DAST, EBST, ZMTC, MMTC, Urea L - Alamine, Urea Glycine, etc. which can be used for Electro - Optic modulation and second harmonic generation. • To carry out in - vitro studies of various urinary stones, gall stones and biomaterials. • To grow high quality X - Ray sensing crystals. • To fabricate electro - optic modulator using DAST crystal. 8.14 INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL (IEDC)
Entrepreneur, a French term, has become unanimous with innovativeness, creativity and business value creation today. By definition, it refers to one who undertakes innovations with finance and business acumen to transform innovations into economically feasible products. The post globalization period is dotted with so many changes in the society that the need for developing entrepreneurial skills is in demand. These skills are not only needed for successfully starting and running a company, but also to work effectively and efficiently in an organization where one is employed. The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC ) at the University is committed to the cause of nurturing the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial skills in the students. A Non-Profit Organization, in collaboration with pioneering institutions such as MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute of India), NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network), etc, it aims at training students in steering their innovative ideas to a level of economic feasibility and industrial viability. The IEDC of the University provides a platform for the students and faculty members with innovative ideas for the betterment of the society by providing them with infrastructure to transform their ideas into products and services. Currently, various workshops, seminars, entrepreneurship talks etc, by eminent entrepreneurs are being conducted to educate the students about the need for entrepreneurship. Every year in February, the Entrepreneurship - Week is celebrated in the University by the students with an aim to bring out and gauge their entrepreneurial talents. Also, students and faculty members are nominated to represent the University in various programs on Entrepreneurship Development. OBJECTIVES • To enhance self-employment opportunities • To ensure Science & Technology reaches the students and motivate them to take up entrepreneurship ventures • To organize Seminars, Guest Lectures, Workshops, Training programmes • To collaborate with other institutions and assist entrepreneurs in setting up quality enterprises • To nurture the entrepreneurial qualities • To train the students in steering their innovative ideas to a level of economic feasibility and industrial viability • To encourage socially motivated innovative ideas by providing necessary infrastructure for converting them into feasible business propositions • To conduct market surveys, to identify local entrepreneurial opportunities and create a data bank. • To assist entrepreneurs by identifying their gray areas and helping them to improve their strengths by training • To work hand in hand with Hindustan University’s proposed “Innovation Factory” in identifying innovative projects, students and faculty members • To start an incubation centre for “Hindustan University Entrepreneurship Cell” STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENT • Ms. Jayashree Sridhar, Aerospace Engineering was selected for the LEAG meeting in Washington D.C. (NASA Head Quarters)for three consecutive years in 2008, 2009 & 2010. She also presented a paper on “Lunar in Space Resource Utilisation” selected by IEEE for the International conference on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering held in Malaysia in November 2010. • Best in the Non- US category in the Design competition by NASA ( 2009-2012) Mr. Manoj G. and Mr. Bernad Adaikalaraj, Aeronautical Engineering designed a viable model of an amphibious tilt rotocraft and this design was adjudged the best in the Non-US Category. • Mr. Kothala Jitendra Sairam was selected for a poster presentation at the 2012 International Space Development Conference (ISDC) by the National Space Society, Washington D.C. He has completed 5000 work units for SETI@ HOME. • Mr. John Nikhil, Mr. Arvind Sasikumar and Mr. Manish Kumar won the first place in NASA 2012 Green Aviation ( Non-US Division) • SAM, an Adroid Humanoid , was designed by EIE student Mr. Shyam Nair using the Cascaded Computational Intelligence. SAM has 32 degrees of freedom and is the first of its kind in India and 14th in the World. • Student Project work submitted for Patenting - A final year project by EIE students( Vighneshwaran Gandhiram, J. Shyam Sundar, R. Arulprakasam, D. Varun) titled” Solar Powered Low Cost Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor assembly for automobiles” sponsored by the TNSCST. Dr. K. C. G. Research and Resource Centre received the award for “Excellence in Built Environment 2011-2012” presented by the Indian Buildings Congress. The commendation certificate was presented by the Honourable Union Minister of State for Urban Development Smt. Deepa Dashunshi to our architects in a grand ceremony conducted in January 2013 in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES GENERIC TRAINING FOR RESEARCHERS Generic (or transferable) skills are those which the researchers should develop over the course of their study (i.e. career management, problem solving, teamwork and leadership) in addition to their research skills which will enhance their employability whether in or out of academia. A research degree is the beginning of a career with a research viewpoint and with new thinking and analytical skills. Future opportunities will require people not only with high level research skills but also who are good managers, decision makers, thinkers and communicators. The training programme is a series of events designed to support all researchers by introducing a variety of research skills and techniques that will help them to progress successfully through the research degree studies and also equip the researcher for a future career. The various sessions are designed so as to bring together researchers from varied disciplines, to foster discussion and to develop research and transferable skills associated with the processes of effective career management. The training program aims to enhance the effectiveness of the researchers by building their understanding, skills and confidence in communication, planning and time management, leadership and assertiveness. A good literature review expands upon the reasons behind selecting a particular research question. The program includes information on strategies for carrying out literature review, structure and positioning of the literature review chapter and the skills involved in the whole process. Methods of mitigating the risks are explored within the policy and legal framework governing the health and safety aspects of research conducted at the university. Scientific writing standards required for the researchers are dealt with. The intricacies of setting out and defending a thesis are discussed and guidance given on titles, structure and style. Focus is also on the understanding of the viva examination, the role of supervisor and the confidence in facing viva-voce. It is important that researchers develop an understanding of how to communicate research to various types of media. An open forum style session in which senior colleagues from different disciplines discuss on publishing in journals, conferences and dealing with the media. At the end of the generic training component of the programme the researchers would be able to demonstrate original, independent and critical thinking, apply effective project management through the setting of research goals, set realistic and achievable career goals, identify and develop ways to improve employability and appreciate the need for and show commitment to continued professional development . ADMISSIONS
14.1 Selection Procedure • Eligible candidates possessing the minimum educational qualifications as given in section 14.6 will be called for an interview and / or test by the Dean PG Research Office. No TA will be paid for attending interview/tests. However, applicants from foreign nationals may be considered without an interview or test. • Based on the academic records and performance in the interview/test, the selection Committee will recommend to the Dean (Research), the names of the candidates found suitable for admission to the programme. Admission offer will be issued by the Admission Office. 14.2 Fees and Deposits for Ph.D., M.S. (By Research) and M.Phil. Programmes* • The fee structure is same for Ph.D., M.S. (By Research) and M. Phil. Programmes for full time and part time students.

GUIDELINES Admission Procedure for Ph.D, M.S (Research) and M.Phil. Courses (Full Time & Part Time) The admissions to these Courses are done twice in a Year (January and July). The applications are invited through advertisements in National Newspapers and the selection is based on the performance of the candidates in a written examination and Interview. Monitoring/ Doctoral Committees There shall be a committee for each research scholar to monitor the progress of scholar’s work. Course Work • Each scholar has to undergo the course prescribed by the Monitoring/ Doctoral Committee from the date of registration. The courses shall be selected from the regular courses offered by the University at Master’s level. • The regular courses need to be compulsorily attended by the scholar and examination taken along with regular students in consultation with COE, and seek approval from office of Dean (Research). • For contact courses and courses not on offer by the university, the syllabi to be designed by the respective department and credits assigned in consultation with COE and approval from the respective Board of Studies. • Examination and evaluation of contact courses and courses not on offer by university to be conducted by the respective members of the Monitoring/ Doctoral committee in consultation with COE and seek approval from Office of Dean (Research). • Prescribed Course work to be completed at the earliest (preferably within one year from the date of registration) so that relevant research work can be initiated after acquiring the basic foundation required for the research work. • Minimum ‘C ’ grade in each of the prescribed course and a minimum CGPA of 6.5 of all courses is mandatory. For M.S [Research] & Ph.D Candidates Step I •
Candidates shall submit the Proforma for Registration along with Joining Report and Proposed Topic (Brief Description 1 page – Detailing Why and How?) based on which Provisional Registration will be issued by Office of Dean- Research (which is the Date of Registration)

Doctoral / Monitoring Committee will be formed and a meeting will be held with the Candidate in which the Course work relevant to topic of research will be suggested by Committee. The Course work has to be completed within one year for Full-time and two years for Part-time candidates in case of MS (by Research) candidates and within 4 semesters for Full-time and 6 semesters for Part-time in case of Ph.D candidates. A minimum of ‘C’ grade is mandatory for each course. If the registrant fails even in a second attempt their registration will be cancelled (second chance only for the registrant completed within a limited period)

RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP
At Hindustan we believe that research should be nurtured and facilitated with the sole purpose of encouraging intellectual growth irrespective of the other barriers. Hindustan Teaching Research Fellowship (HTRF) has been formulated for the scholars in order to facilitate their progress in research programmes. SCHOLARSHIP AWARD Doctoral scholarships are awarded to eligible candidate of Rs.15,000/ per month for the first two years and Rs.18,000/- per month for 3rd year which can be extended for one more year if the progress is satisfactory.
ELIGIBILITY Qualification - 75% mark & above, CGPA-8 (OR) GATE / NET qualified (OR) 65% mark & above, CGPA-7 with good publication However, selection will be finalized only on qualifying written test and interview. CONDITIONS OF THE AWARD Scholars with stipend should clear the prescribed course within one year. By the end of second year atleast one publication should be published in a referred journal. Attendance & leave facilities for full time scholars with stipend, are applicable same as per teaching staff. Permission for on duty should be obtained from HOD, if the scholar requires some assistance from industries / Research Organisations. Workload of the scholar will be allotted only after consultation and concurrence of the supervisor. Maximum duration for full time scholars is three years and which is extendable to one more year subject to approval. If the scholar discontinues, the entire stipend amount has to be refunded in full.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS
Foreign nationals with a valid passport and visa may be admitted under any one of the three categories of admission mentioned in 14.5. Such candidates with degrees from Indian Universities should have the same educational qualifications as mentioned in 14.6 to 14.8 for Indian students. Foreign nationals with foreign degrees shall possess the minimum educational requirements equivalent to the qualifications mentioned in 14.6 to 14.8 as recognized by HITS. After admission, they should apply, through HITS, for the necessary clearance from the Government of India for study in India.
