Art on display
Get inspiration (and maybe shop for a piece to brighten your own living space) by going to visit art in person. Here are a few places where you can see art on display, inside and outside.
1. CURRIER MUSEUM OF ART
150 Ash St., Manchester, 669-6144, currier.org The internationally renowned art museum, founded in 1929, has permanent and rotating exhibits featuring American and European paintings, sculptures, photographs and more by notable artists such as Picasso, Monet and O’Keeffe, as well as local and regional artists.
2. LEAGUE OF NH CRAFTSMEN NASHUA FINE CRAFT GALLERY
98 Main St., Nashua, 595-8233, nashua.nhcrafts.org The gallery and shop is one of eight League of New Hampshire Craftsmen galleries, featuring a variety of traditional and contemporary fine crafts created by juried New Hampshire craftspeople.
3. ANDRES INSTITUTE OF ART
98 Route 13, Brookline, 673-8441, andresinstitute.org The Institute offers a dozen wooded hiking trails with outdoor sculptures, making it the largest outdoor sculpture park in New England. Every fall it hosts the Andres Institute of Art International Sculpture Symposium, when sculptors from around the world spend three weeks in Brookline creating sculptures for the park.
4. ARTHUB
107 W. Pearl St., Nashua, 405-698-1951, nashuaarts.org The collaborative gallery and workspace features art by Nashua Area Artists Association members and other artists in the greater Nashua area and hosts technique-based demonstrations, workshops and classes.
5. AREA 23
254 N. State St., Concord, 552-0137, thearea23.com The Concord bar invites local artists of all media to submit artwork for a rotation of themed group art installations displayed on its walls.
