Facts & Numbers Career Fair Attendance by Major The College of Architecture Career & Internship Fair hosted 28 companies (a decrease of 6.67% from the previous year). Ten companies conducted 39 interviews the day after the fair. Architecture students also attended the Sooner Showcase and the Spring Career Fair. The Construction Science Division hosted two career fairs as well. The fall event attracted 35 employers with 82 students attending, and 143 interviews conducted by 18 companies. The spring event attracted 28 employers with 78 students attending, and 46 interviews conducted by 10 companies. Below is the attendance breakdown by major for the Architecture Career Fair. ďżź

Recruiting On-Campus Interviews by Major Many students participate in on-campus interviews. The total interview calculation reflects all interviews. There were 25 companies that recruited Architecture students by conducting 204 oncampus interviews. In addition to on-campus interviews, 91 companies posted 140 jobs on the job board.

First Destination Data Each year Career Services attempts to collect first destination data for all College of Architecture undergraduate students. Data is collected utilizing several methods including, but not limited to, in-class surveys, email campaigns, individual department exit interviews/surveys, and digital research. EMPLOYMENT BY REGION There were a total of six graduates who reported offers in Japan, Italy, Australia, China, Germany, and Canada. The Southwest Region, which includes Oklahoma and Texas, are, by far, the leading destinations for College of Arts and Sciences graduates.

Activities Overview • Maintained the Arts & Sciences Online Resume Book. • Met with Arts and Sciences students throughout each semester to help with job search, resume writing, interviewing skills, and other career-related issues. • Conducted numerous mock interviews with Arts and Sciences students to better prepare them for real interviews. • Surveyed all capstone classes, gathering post-graduation information from 731 graduating seniors. • Consistently updated bulletin boards with information regarding career fairs, on-campus interviews, recruiting, career planning workshops, and career and internship opportunities. • Presented information about Career Services and other career planning topics to various student organizations. • Posted jobs on the HIREsooner Online Job Board and emailed students the job openings as they were posted. • Shared information about workshops, career fairs, full-time and internship opportunities with students via email, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. • Updated College of Arts & Sciences web page on HIREsooner.com that lists specific information for humanities and sciences majors. • Developed specialized job search workshops for A&S majors and publicized and presented them throughout the year on various topics including Professional Dress, Interviewing, Dining Etiquette, and How to Find a Job in a Tough Economy. • Spoke to approximately 44 classes and student organizations / 1,148 students about Career Services. • Using eValuate, surveyed 4,184 class sections of students regarding their plans after graduation. • Taught CAS 4091, Career Planning Class to Arts & Sciences majors once each semester. Brought in guest speakers from various industries to talk to students and present lectures on various aspects of the job search process. In addition to guests’ advice, students learned professional dress, tips on networking, salary negotiation and more. • Managed CAS 4630 Internship Class for those interested in receiving course credit for their internship experience. • Set up information tables in various buildings around campus as part of a new initiative, CAS Outreach Day to raise awareness about Career Services. • Built stronger relationships with College of Arts & Sciences faculty and staff by being in classrooms; consistently updating faculty and staff on upcoming events and job openings for students, and speaking to clubs and organizations. • Worked with academic advisors to ensure they know what Career Services has available and how to utilize those services.

The Engineering Career Fair is one of the largest career fairs on campus and is mostly geared toward technical majors. Activities Overview • Maintained the Gaylord College of Journalism & Mass Communication Online Resume Book • Met with Gaylord students throughout each semester to help with job search, resume writing, interviewing skills, and other career-related issues • Conducted numerous mock interviews with Gaylord students to better prepare them for real interviews • Spoke to 43 classes with 1,670 students during the first week of each semester to educate students about Career Services • Surveyed all capstone classes, gathering post-graduation information from 371 graduating seniors • Consistently updated bulletin boards and electronic media, with information regarding career fairs, on-campus interviews, recruiting, career planning workshops, and career and internship opportunities • Provided on-campus interview opportunities for Gaylord students in the Career Services office • Posted jobs on the HIREsooner Online Job Board and emailed students the job openings as they were posted • Shared information about workshops, career fairs, full-time and internship opportunities with students via email, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn • Updated College of Journalism & Mass Communication web page on HIREsooner. com that lists specific information for Gaylord majors
