Online Job Board

Post full-time or internship vacancies for free on HIREsooner. These positions are viewable by students, alumni, faculty and staff.

Online Resume Books

Resumes of OU students and alumni are available in the Student Resume Books in HIREsooner. Career Services has created several resume books by college or groups. You may email candidates directly to promote your job opportunity or campus interview or download and email selected resumes in a resume packet to yourself. This service is for direct hire employers only.

On-Campus Interviewing Interview On-Campus

Request and manage your pre-select or open on-campus interviews. We will promote your opportunity, provide

resumes of interested students, schedule interviews and provide an interview room at no cost. The on-campus interviewing process (posting, screening, and interviewing) typically requires five to six weeks from start to finish. Contact Robin Huston, Recruiting Coordinator, to reserve your interview date prior to entering your information.

Information Sessions

Information Sessions are typically held the night before you interview students you have selected in the on-campus interviewing process. They give you an opportunity to highlight your organization prior to the actual interview and provide details about the positions for which you are recruiting. They are optimally about an hour long with snack foods or pizza served. It is a good idea to bring employees who are recent OU graduates, if possible. Our Employer Relations Team maintains a calendar of Information Sessions and can assist you in making the arrangements. If you have posters or flyers you would like us to post, please send them to our office and we will see that they are posted across campus. Ship any materials in advance and we will hold them for your meeting.

“All of the students we interviewed presented themselves in a well-spoken and professional manner.

[ Arranging on-campus Interviews ] Schedule a Recruiting Visit

To schedule a recruiting visit to the University of Oklahoma, the following steps will help ensure that all of the necessary arrangements have been made prior to your visit:

4. Request Lunch with Faculty and Staff

Contact Robin Huston, Associate Director, at (405) 325-1974 as early as possible to secure your interview date.

Arrange lunch with faculty or staff by indicating on the On-Campus Interview Schedule the specific individuals you would like to invite. Lunch will be at your expense. Your guests will meet you in the Career Services lobby.

Login to your HIREsooner account and complete the On-Campus Interview Schedule a minimum of five weeks prior to your recruiting date.

Once you have submitted your interview request, a Career Services representative will review your information and input your on-campus interview date. At this point your recruiting timeline will be created.

1. Schedule an Interview Date

2. Complete the On-Campus Interview Schedule

3. Make Information Session Arrangements

Plan to hold an information session to market your organization to individuals already on your schedule as well as to those not able to schedule an interview. Enter the details of your request on the Information Session section of the On-Campus Interview Schedule. The Information Session will be at your expense. If you need to cancel your information session, cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance to avoid charges. Cancellations made 24 hours or less prior to the function will be charged 100 percent

12

of the total. Cancellations made 25-47 hours prior to the function will result in a 30 percent cancellation fee.

The Pre-Screen Process

The following three steps will follow the recruiting timeline attached to your schedule (see your schedule for dates).

1. Students Apply for an Interview

Using HIREsooner, students will indicate their interest in interviewing with your organization.

2. Employer Reviews Applicants and Chooses Interviewees

To select interviewees, you will log into HIREsooner, view applicants’ resumes, and make your interview selections

online or e-mail your selections to rhuston@ou.edu.

3. Students Sign Up for an Interview

The selected interviewees will sign up for interview appointments.

Cancellations or Changes of Schedules

Students schedule interview appointments one week prior to the week of the interview. Once appointments are scheduled, we feel the commitment to honor those arrangements rests equally with the candidate and employer. Therefore, changes by the organization resulting in the cancellation of appointments should be followed by letters or e-mails to those candidates who have had appointments cancelled.

“OU is always the best program we visit. Everything is done well and it is very enjoyable to be here as a recruiter.”
