He was signed by the Carolina Panthers in 2005 as an undrafted free agent. Lorenzo played 15 seasons in the NFL; many of the other players in the league and fans nicknamed him "One- Man Gang." They called him this because of the number of positions he was able to play in the NFL, which helped his coach and teammates during games. Some of those positions that he played were offensive line, special teams; he also played fullback, defensive end, defensive tackle, inside linebacker and outside linebacker. Lorenzo was versatile enough to play whatever position his team needed him to play at that time of the game.
Lorenzo was with the Carolina Panthers in 2005 season and then with the Baltimore Ravens in 2006 season, but he only was on the practice squads with these two teams. He was with the Washington Redskins in 2006-2012 season, now called the Washington Commanders. Lorenzo played in Washington for 6 seasons; he was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2012.
Lorenzo signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2013 for two seasons. He then signed on with the Oakland Raiders in 2015 for one season. Lorenzo would then sign with the Buffalo Bills during the 2016 season, where he went on to be a Pro Bowl selection for a second time in his career. Lorenzo was also named a second All Pro in 2016. The season of 2016 was a year where everything fell into place for him as he stacked up 6 deflected passes, 3 forced fumbles and an interception. In all, Lorenzo played 4 seasons with the Buffalo Bills. After the 2019 season, Lorenzo retired from his NFL football career.
