hristmas is a time when I get excited; it's my favorite time of the year. When I think back at all the great times I had at Christmas, a blessed time to spend with family and friends, a time where it seemed at least for one day everyone was kind and loving to each other and when you took the time to go outside, it was just so peaceful. This all happened one night over 2,000 years ago, in a small town called Bethlehem, when Joseph came into town with Mary. She was riding on a donkey; a journey that covered 120 km., or 90 miles. As they entered the town, Mary went into labor. Joseph started rushing around, banging on doors, frantically looking for a room so that Mary could give birth. Unfortunately though, all the rooms were taken, as most of the people were there for the census. At last Joseph found someone; he told Joseph the only place left in town was a stable. So he took Mary and

there in the stable, baby Jesus was born and they placed Him in a manger for His bed. Luke 2:5-7 5‌.to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. 6. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. 7. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Then the angel Gabriel appeared to the shepherds and announced the blessed news of the birth of the Son of God, a baby named Jesus. Luke 2:9-14 9. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10. Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger." Afterwards, they came down from the mountain to worship Jesus; three wise men (Magi) also arrived bringing gifts. The gifts all had spiritual meaning.. Gold (a symbol of His Kingdom), Frankincense (a symbol of Deity), and Myrrh (used as embalming oil, as a symbol of
death). Jesus came to fulfill prophesies of the Old Testament. Over three hundred prophesies were written by many different prophets hundreds of years before the birth of the promised Messiah. Isaiah 7:14 states: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Emmanuel. Micah 5:2 states: But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting. Here, prophesy is foretold of a King who will be born in Bethlehem and that He will have existed from time past, from eternity. Jeremiah 31:15 speaks of the birthplace of this coming One, where this district will suffer a terrible massacre of infants. Matthew 2:16 confirms this when he speaks of the warning given to the wise men not to return to Herod to tell where the Messiah was: “Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah

the prophet, saying: “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more.” Here are some scriptures on the birth of Jesus. Praise God and thank Him for His grace and love... 1. Born of a Virgin Isaiah 11:1 There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. 2. Born of the House of David Jeremiah 23:5 “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “When I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and He shall reign as King and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land…” 3. The Visit of the Shepherds Luke 2:15-20 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this Child. And all who heard
it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them 4. The Visit of the Wise Men Matthew 2:1-12 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star when it rose and have come to worship Him.” When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet: ‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.’” Then Herod summoned the wise men secretly and ascertained from them what time the star had appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the Child, and when you have found Him,

bring me word, that I too may come and worship Him.” After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered Him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way. 5. Mary Visits Elizabeth Luke 1:39-45 In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah, and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped

for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.” 6. Birth of Christ Matthew 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel” (which means, God with us) Isaiah 9:6 For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Jesus came to show us the Father. John 14:9 states that Jesus says to Phillip, “…He who has seen Me has seen the Father...” God is Spirit, but to know who God is, we need to know who Jesus is because Jesus was born in human form as God in flesh and blood. Jesus came to reveal God to us. Colossians 1:15 says: He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. John 1:1 states: In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word (Jesus) was with God, and the Word (Jesus) was God. John 1:14 declares: And the Word (Jesus) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Jesus came to save us from our sin. 1 Timothy 1:15 states: …
In A Manger
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners... Jesus had to become one of us to go to the cross and pay the penalty that we deserve. We needed a God man; in other words, God in the flesh, to save us. Jesus came to sympathize with our weaknesses. Hebrews 4:15 states: For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Jesus came to bear our pain and injustices, to experience all of our troubles, all of our needs, all of our testings, without the sinning. Therefore, because Jesus can relate to us in our weakness, we can be bold and go in prayer to Him, our approachable Lord, in our time of need. Jesus came to secure our hope of Heaven. Jesus came down so that we can go up. Colossians 1:27 states: …Christ in you, the hope of glory. Christ makes us fit for Heaven by coming to live in our hearts. No man can come to the Father but through Jesus. Jesus is the revelation of God and He is the One who paid the penalty for our sin. The celebration of Christmas is more than tinsel, pretty Christmas paper, Christmas trees and holiday cheer. It is the beautiful story of the redemptive truth for all mankind, where Jesus became one of us. He lived amongst us, a beautiful gift from God… yes, God born in the flesh and He paid the ultimate
price for us In the Bible, the innkeeper had no room for Jesus, but the question is: In the busy times with all the hustle in your life, do you have room for Jesus? Jesus was born on this earth to save people from their sins. He was then crucified on the cross for you and me so that His blood would cover us. He forgave us of our sins so that we will be able to be with Him one day in Heaven. What a beautiful blessing that will be. Why not make room for Jesus in your heart today?

Birth of Our Savior Dear Heavenly Father,
Page 5
As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, who is Christ the Lord, born in the city of David‌ May we share in the joy of the angels that very day, the gladness of the shepherds and the worship of the wise men after seeing the Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings and teach us to be merry with clear hearts. May the Christmas morning make us happy to be your children and the Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, in Jesus’ name. Amen

Movie in Review...
The Nativity Story “A Story for All Time”
T
he movie begins in the Roman province of Judea with the massacre of the Innocents (children).
One year before the massacre, Zachariah, a Rabbi in Jerusalem is in the temple making an offering to the Lord. When he is visited by the angel Gabriel, he is told that his wife, Elizabeth, will have a son. Zachariah, knowing his wife is up in age, doubts Gabriel and wants proof; saying they are too old to have a child. Because Zachariah didn't believe, Gabriel told him that he would be unable to speak until the day it happens (the birth of his child). In Nazareth, Mary is helping with the chores when the Roman soldiers enter the village
looking to collect taxes. One of the men in the village is unable to pay his taxes so the soldiers took his daughter away to be used as a slave to pay his debt. Mary is told by her family that she is to marry Joseph. Now when Mary was visited by the angel Gabriel, he told her that God had chosen her and that she would become pregnant with God's Son and His name will be called JESUS. He tells Mary that God has also blessed her cousin Elizabeth with a child despite her age. So before the harvest, Mary goes to visit Elizabeth. After she arrives, she witnesses the birth of John the Baptist to Elizabeth and Zachariah. A few days after John's birth, Zachariah regains his voice and speech. Mary returns home in time for the harvest visibly pregnant, to the shock of Joseph and her parents, who are scared Joseph will accuse her of adultery, a sin punishable by death which was usually by stoning according to the Torah (The Jewish Bible). At first, Joseph doesn't believe Mary's explanation but he decides not to accuse her. Afterwards, he is visited by the angel Gabriel who tells him of God's plan for Mary's Son.
At that time, Roman Emperor, Caesar Augustus demands every man across the Roman Empire to return to their place of birth for the census. A direct descendant of King David, Joseph is forced to travel 110 kilometers (68 miles) across the Palestine's rocky grounds from Nazareth to Bethlehem, the place of his birth. After traveling four weeks by donkey, they reach the town of Bethlehem. When they reach the town, Mary goes into labor and Joseph frantically seeks a place for her to deliver the baby. There is, however, no room available due to all the people arriving because of the census but at that moment, an innkeeper offers his stable for Jesus’ birth. Meanwhile, three Magi travel towards Judaea after having discovered the three planets aligning to form a great star. This Star of Bethlehem appears to the Magi. After a visit from the angel Gabriel, the Magi visits Herod and reveals to him that the Messiah is just a child and He will be a Messiah "For the lowest of men to the highest of Kings”. The Magi arrive at the stables where Mary has already given birth to Jesus. They bow down and present Jesus with gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. Watching and enjoying this movie has been our family tradition on Christmas Eve every year since it came out on DVD.

Angels
Who They Are and How They Help...
By: Dr. David Jeremiah
A
ngels...There is such a fascination with these messengers of God. There are even people who do not believe in God but they have a belief of angels, which I find very odd, since God created angels and they serve Him. We also think of angels taking people, after they pass away, up to Heaven, fighting the Heavenly battles, being there when we need them, as in saving people from accidents. They are also God's messengers. Remember the scripture found in Hebrews 13:2 that says, “Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some have unwittingly entertained angels.” What does the Bible say about angels? What are angels? What is their role in God's plan? Are they present now? When do they appear? Do they give insight about our work and worship? Dr. David Jeremiah takes us on an extensive study of angels, showing us their Biblical functions and their purposes and what it all means for us today. With his clarity and reasoning, Dr. Jeremiah cuts through all the talk and warns us all to be careful of any unexplainable things that happen in our lives as doings of angels. David Jeremiah also reminds us that the angels are also created beings by God; therefore,
we should not make idols of angels. After warning us, Dr. David Jeremiah begins to explain what angels are, when they appear to us and how they compare and contrast to humans. This is done in a straightforward way. Dr. David Jeremiah brings together all the scriptures regarding angels and shows us his conclusions based on Biblical information. The book includes chapters on the angel Gabriel and archangel Michael and their appearances in scriptures. Dr. David Jeremiah spends time talking about the Angel of the LORD, His appearances, and the debate as to whether this is an angel or the pre-incarnate Christ. Altogether, this book Angels
is a really good read. It is easily the most informative and helpful study of angels that I personally have encountered. It doesn't shy away from all the hype and discussions of topics as engenders and even cautions against such talk. For those Christians that are lost in the modern "Spiritual" concept of angels, I have to say this book is a must buy and read. Dr. David Jeremiah removes all the modern stereotypes of an angel as a "good feeling" and he restores it to the Biblical sense as they are meant… to be created spiritual messengers of God. As always, Dr. David Jeremiah uses scripture to show the unmistakable truth about these agents of Heaven and all their roles in the world today and in our lives. Dr. David Jeremiah clearly and simply separates all the facts from fiction as it relates to angels. His findings are supported with illustrations and information from prominent teachers, including: Billy Graham, Corrie ten Boom, C.S. Lewis and many more. Dr. David Jeremiah's very down-to-earth style guides his readers around all the hype about angels and goes directly into the "substance of the things that are unseen!" Until next time, God bless you all, from everyone here at His Grace.

Psalm 14:
Folly of the Godless, and God's Final Triumph To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David
The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good. The Lord, looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call on the Lord? There they are in great fear, For God is with the generation of the righteous. You shame the counsel of the poor, But the Lord is his refuge. Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.
Psalm 15:
The Character of Those Who May Dwell with the Lord A Psalm of David
Lord who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
Psalms
He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend; In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he honors those who fear the Lord; He who swears to his own hurt and does not change; He who does not put out his money at usury, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
Psalm 16:
The Hope of the Faithful, and the Messiah's Victory A Michtam of David
Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. O my soul, you have said to the Lord, "You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You." As for the saints who are on the earth, "They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight. Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips. Oh Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; you maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance.
I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence in fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 17:
Prayer with Confidence in Final Salvation A Prayer of David
Hear a just cause, O Lord, Attend to my cry; Give ear to my prayer which is not from deceitful lips. Let my vindication come from Your presence; Let Your eyes look on the things that are upright. You have tested my heart; You have visited me in the night; You have tried me and have found nothing; I have purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. Concerning the works of men, By the word of your lips, I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer. Uphold my steps in Your paths, That my footsteps may not slip. I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.
The Book of... Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You From those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings, From the wicked who oppress me, From my deadly enemies who surround me. They have closed up their fat hearts; With their mouths they speak proudly. They have now surrounded us in our steps; They have set their eyes, crouching down to the earth, As a lion is eager to tear his prey, And like a young lion lurking in secret places. Arise, O Lord, Confront him, cast him down; Deliver my life from the wicked with Your sword, With Your hand from men, O Lord, From men of the world who have their portion in this life, And whose belly You fill with Your hidden treasure. They are satisfied with children, And leave the rest of their possession for their babes. As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

hand of Saul. And he said:
I will love You, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. The pangs of death surrounded me, And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid. The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken, Because He was angry. Smoke went up from His nostrils, And devouring fire from His mouth; Coals were kindled by it. He bowed the heavens also, and came down with darkness under His feet. And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind. He made darkness His secret place; His canopy around Him was dark waters and thick clouds of the skies. From the brightness before Him, His thick clouds passed with hailstones and coals of fire. The Lord thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals

of fire. He sent out His arrows and scattered the foe, Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them. Then the channels of the sea were seen, The foundations of the world were uncovered At Your rebuke, O Lord, At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils. He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the Lord was my support. He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me. The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; According to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, And have not wickedly departed from my God. For all His judgments were before me, And I did not put away His statutes from me. I was also blameless before Him, And I kept myself from my iniquity. Therefore the Lord has recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands in His sight. With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; With the pure You will show Yourself pure;

And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd. For You will save the humble people, But will bring down haughty looks. For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, By my God, I can leap over a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places. He teaches my hands to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has held me up, Your gentleness has made me great. You enlarged my path under me, So my feet did not slip. I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed. I have wounded them, So that they could not rise; They have fallen under my feet. For you have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. You have also given me the necks of my enemies, So that I destroyed those who hated me. You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; You have made me the head of the nations; A people I have not known shall serve me. As soon as they hear of me they obey me; The foreigners submit to me. The foreigners fade away, And come frightened from their hideouts. The Lord lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted. It is God who avenges me, And subdues the peoples under me; He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles, And sing praises to Your name. Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore.
Psalm 19:
The Perfect Revelation of the Lord
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where
their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Little Drummer Boy, Christmas Tour...
T
wo-time Grammy Award winners for KING & COUNTRY are going on the road in late November into December with their Christmas Tour, presented by Compassion. The tour starts off on November 29th. Joining the tour are special guests Zach Williams and rising start Cory Asbury (performing on the last two dates). The band says, “It's family, it's hope, it's God and it's the greatest celebration of God the world has ever known. Now this is the time to pound those drums, sing the carols and anthems and ring in the glorious Christmas Season together.” This tour will also
feature songs from fellow Grammy Award winner Zach Williams. The tour will feature original songs from both of the artists, as well as a few brand new songs from for KING & COUNTRY from their new album ‘Burn the Ships’ Last year for KING & COUNTRY celebrated their Christmas release of a live video for "Little Drummer Boy." The video reached No.1 overall on iTunes video chart. The Little Drummer Boy video was viewed over 15 million times, making this video the most viewed for Christmas of 2017. The already glimmering star keeps shining for the two time Grammy Award winning duo for KING & COUNTRY. Their lead single, "Joy” reached the top of billboard charts and has reached over 8.2 million streams. It was also included on USA Today/The
Tennessean’s “Best Song of the Year” (so far) all-genre list. The song "Joy" is an uplifting, upbeat song that is about choosing to be joyful even when you’re so burdened with life's hardships. "Joy" is currently No.1 on the Billboard Christian Audience chart and No.1 on radio in Canada and Australia. They will also be performing the song "Fix My Eyes" Some songs that Zach Williams will be playing are his breakthrough hit song "Chainbreaker" as well as many Christmas classics songs.
Until next time, God bless you all, from everyone here at His Grace.

Your Journey to God
Celia Deegan's Story "Help me." These two words burst out of the desperate heart of a four year old child and became the most powerful prayer I ever prayed. A fog has claimed most of the details surrounding the event itself, but certain things have remained perfectly clear involving my first real encounter with the presence of God. I imagined nothing. The presence I felt that night is the same now and as real to me today at age 51 as it was 47 years ago. Mine was a bad childhood from the very start. I was unplanned and unwanted pregnancy and my mother's opinion of me didn't change the day I was born. What I recall most about the first four years of my life is mostly just a complete absence of love and the acute awareness that my mother hated me. I was afraid of her. I was afraid to talk to her and I was most certainly afraid of the way she talked to me. I spent most of my time wishing that it was bedtime. At least there alone in the darkness and under my blankets, I felt safe. And sometimes, bedtime came earlier than usual and without supper. I never complained. A four year old heart can carry the heavy weight of pain without complaining as a learned coping mechanism, but there were times when I couldn't hold back the tears nor deny the desperation of living
in a cold climate of hostility. I am sure that we are born with the ability to survive anything and I am also sure that the awareness of being hated is absolutely heartbreaking for any child. I'm not sure that it was an actual panic attack but I am sure of one particular night when the ache inside my chest left me gasping for breath. I felt like I was going in and out of consciousness. The little I knew about life at that point left me with the impression that it was nothing I wanted to pursue. This may have been the closest I ever really came to giving up completely before the panic struck. Somewhere in there, as I struggled to breathe, I coughed out two simple words: "Help me..." I choked and I trembled and my little fists were tightly clenched around my blankets. Suddenly, in that moment, an incomprehensible presence of peace and love began to surround me. I began to breathe. The tears stopped. My heart rate slowed as a sweet sense of relaxation came over me. I began to smile, which is something I don't ever remember doing a lot of before that moment. I felt a profound sense of comfort and warmth wash over me and it was then that I felt His presence right there in that room with me. An incredible sense of joy filled my heart. I couldn't see Him, but I knew He was there. And I was in a total state of awe. I didn't know

who He was but I knew He was real. I knew He loved me and I knew that I loved Him. This was my first real taste of true love, in its purest form. And in that moment, I knew that I would always be okay because something in that Divine Presence made me feel certain that I would never lose contact with what I encountered that night. And I never have, not even once, in all these years. In the days, weeks, months and years that followed, despite the storms that would come, I became a joyful child who rarely lost her smile. I'm not sure how it is even possible that a four year old could know in her innermost being that she had come to know and experience her Heavenly Father God, but I just knew. His ways are not our ways and the God I serve is able to open the eyes and the heart of a child to His presence. Of course He can, He's God! It no longer mattered who hated me because I had been touched with a love so incredibly Divine that no human love could ever compare to that. He became my purpose for living as I slowly came into the awareness of God, the Bible, the Church, other believers, etc. The night I met Him left me with an insatiable hunger to know more, to pursue Him for the rest of my life and to seek out the hurting and the broken with the message of God's love.

Jane & Steve: A 'classic' Guelph wedding day

The day stood out for John because of the love and joy that Jane and Steve expressed for each other, and for everyone involved. He said the couple's personalities shone through in every detail of the wedding day. "The dress, the choice of attendants for each the bride and groom, the flowers, the choice of music in the ceremony... their personalities were embedded into it all." Steve runs a family owned body shop in Guelph and is really into cars, so the couple rented a 1964 Rolls Royce for the day. "They were truly themselves but dressed up a bit fancier the entire day."
