The Power of Prayer!

May 2020
o you believe in the power of prayer? Or do you just say a prayer and hope it works? It may seem like a strange question for me to ask you, but as sad as it seems, many Christians do just that. Do we pray fervent prayers like Daniel did? Or prayers like the Pharisees? Daniel prayed fervently to God every chance he had and God rewarded him with dreams and even sent the angel Gabriel to show him the future for Israel. The Pharisees made long drawn-out prayers to make themselves look good in front of people so that it would look like they were with God, when in fact they were so far away from Him. Matthew 6:5 says, "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward." God isn't interested in prayers that are self absorbent. He doesn't want us pray with vain
repetitions; He wants us to pray to Him from our hearts. This will bring us closer to Him. Matthew 6:7-8 says, "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathens do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him." What does prayer mean to you? May 7, 2020 was National Prayer Day, a day when all Christians could spend the day in prayer. It's a good thing for all Christians to do, but we should be doing this everyday and night, in prayer continually. How often do you pray? Do you pray every day and night, once a week or just whenever you want something? Prayer should be something we do because we can't wait to go to Jesus and talk with Him. He is our very best friend. My wife, Donna, and I pray every morning, afternoon and bedtime, and even when we are doing things around the house or at work. We pray in our minds without ceasing, as 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." This helps you to develop a strong prayer life and a relationship with our Father in Heaven. I do know some people who say they pray only when they
want something. If that is true of you, then things probably won't work out too well for you, because without a relationship with Jesus, how can you expect Him to really help you? We need a strong relationship with Him. Praying only when we need or want something isn't really a strong relationship. You need to repent of your sins, ask for forgiveness and pray to Him all the time. Then watch your life change for the better! Don't expect God to come running to us; we must go to Him, that is the way He is. But He is patiently waiting for us. Go to Him in prayer, seek His face in worship. There are different ways to worship Jesus: you can dance for Him; you can sing to Him (and it doesn't matter what type of music, as long as it honors Him) and you can praise Him through prayer. Donna and I begin our prayers by saying the Lord's Prayer, which Jesus taught His disciples to pray. Matthew 6:9-13 says, "In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

Publisher's Corner... When we pray, we need to pray in God's will; only then will things start working for us. You may ask, 'What is God's will for my life?' You can find His will for your life in the Bible; His living word shows us how to live our lives purely and righteously while we are here on earth. For instance, 1 John 5:14 says, "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." The power of prayer for believers is very strong. I have a friend in the United States that has cancer. When I heard the news, we thought of just one thing, and that is to pray for her, and we haven't stopped. Today I messaged her to find out that, after weeks of praying, the cancer is shrinking. God is so good, thank you Lord for hearing us. God always hears our prayers. 1 John 5:15 says, "And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him." Some people have said to me that they prayed for their loved one, but they still passed away; so they believe that God didn't hear their prayers. There is no answer to why sometimes God heals and sometimes He doesn't. I think back to when my Mom had cancer; we prayed every day and night for a year. She would have good days and
The Power of Prayer!
bad; we continued to pray for her healing. Yet a year later, Mom passed away. I know what some are thinking right now, that you prayed and God didn't heal her. But I know she was healed; God will heal for this side or the other, in heaven. Now, of course, we always want our loved ones with us. But sometimes, it doesn't work out that way. At least I know Mom is healed and is with Jesus in heaven. Revelations 21:4 says, "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." There are so many things for us believers to look forward to. Prayer is so powerful. Yet sometimes, we don't receive an answer for a long time, because it is always given to us in God's perfect timing. We can receive it in a day, week, month, year or even years down the road. For instance, I prayed for a loving Christian wife; I prayed every day and night for 15 years. Yes that's right, for 15 years. Now it wasn't easy; if I thought for a moment it would take that long, I would have collapsed. After Donna and I met, we then waited two additional years before we could marry. But in the end, it was so worth the wait. When we pray in God's will, we will receive, but then patience plays into it.
Page 5
If we start praying for a million dollars, that may not work out the way we would like it to, because we rely on God to take care of us. He does, every time, because He knows our needs before we know what we need, and He will provide them us, as long as we pray in His will. Matthew 7:7 says, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." Also, Philippians 4:19 says, "And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." So remember, go to God now and pray in His will, and watch Him work for you!

he Grammy nominated Platinum selling group, Newsboys, has been one of the strongest bands in Christian music for many years. They have had a few band member changes on their journey. The former band members, Peter Furler and Phil Joel, are with the current band members Michael Tait, Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein and Jody Davis, in a group of great musicians. The album, United, has ten songs that has been produced by Peter Furler and Geoff Duncan and also features four select songs co-written by Peter Furler. Newsboys decided to have different co-writers along with their songwriters, Peter Furler and Steve Taylor. You will really enjoy this album with both lead singers Peter Furler and Michael Tait. Some examples of the songs would be three of their songs previously released: "Greatness Of Our God", "Symphony" and "This I Know." Each of these songs are both unforgettable and inspiring worship songs. The song, "Greatness Of Our God" starts this album off on a good note with Peter on the lead vocals and Michael singing the second half of the song. The song has a classic Christian contemporary music feel to it. The lyrics in the song are very powerful and speak truth about

Jesus rising from the grave. The sound gives you a wallop and is a good worship song that will keep you singing and dancing long after the song is over; a song that gives a joyful shout for all of God's power and glory. This is followed by "Symphony". This time, Michael begins the song on vocals and then Peter finishes with his style. Producing a good hit song, "Beautiful Story" is led by Michael. His voice on this song is amazing. A good pitch, his voice is distinctive with Newsboys. The album has ten songs on it that are all very good, just like the first song. "Fearless" is a little slower; it has a beat that continually builds up through the song. This song has both lead singers, Michael and Peter, doing the vocals. The lyrics of this song will speak to your heart and it speaks of all the uncertain roads we will travel in our lives.
The final song on this album is "Set Me Ablaze." It has a different sound than the other songs. Peter Furler starts off on vocals; his passion for Jesus can be heard in his voice. There is a soft quiet beat to this song, so you can have a direct focus on the lyrics; it's a beautiful sound. This is a dream for every Newsboys' fan; it's a love that speaks at all levels. This album will inspire you; it will let you feel the light of Jesus and you will feel blessed by Him in your worship to Him through this album. It will make you want to shout praises to Him, jump for joy and lift up your hands towards the heavens to our Lord Jesus. This is a good album that you will really enjoy.

The Handwriting on the Wall
Secrets from the Prophecies of Daniel...
Book by: Dr. David Jeremiah Written by: Lynne Wood
T
he Handwriting on the Wall is the latest book written by Dr. David Jeremiah. I couldn't wait to read this book and it certainly did not disappoint. This book is all about the prophecies of Daniel; it is very fascinating that, what was written thousands of years ago pertains to things happening now, and what is still to come. This book takes you through Daniel's life and his absolute unwavering love for God. Whatever Daniel's circumstances in life were, he had a strong faith, trust and love for God that it didn't matter to him. Oh sure, he missed Jerusalem and his way of life very much, but he did whatever God asked of him and never questioned it. Daniel and his three friends were just teenagers when they were taken into captivity from their home in Jerusalem to Babylon, where they would serve for seventy years. When they arrived in Babylon, their names were changed in an attempt to erase their Hebrew
heritage. The name, Daniel, means 'God is my judge'; it was changed to Belteshazzar; Hananiah means 'Jehovah is gracious'; Mishael means 'Who is like God'; Azariah means 'Jehovah is my helper.' Their names were changed to Shadrach, Meshach and AbedNego. Their new names refer to false gods worshipped by the Babylonians. They went through a very intense program for three years
to re-educate them to learn their language and culture. They made every effort to make them forget their God and embrace the pagan culture of the Babylonians. As everybody knows with the story of Daniel in the Bible, Daniel was given a great gift from God to be able to interpret dreams. Daniel interpreted many dreams for kings while in Babylon; however, Daniel was greatly afraid of the dreams he saw of the future for Israel. I know most people know about Daniel from the Bible, but this book takes you on Daniel's journey and beyond. Dr. David Jeremiah does a wonderful job of explaining how Daniel's dreams pertain to the present day and what they mean. "Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding." Daniel 2:20-21
"How great are His signs, And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And His dominion is from generation to generation." Daniel 4:3

The Need for Prayer
Our heavenly Father is loving and wise; He urges us to ask in faith. He’s never too busy to hear our prayers And to act on our behalf. God hears the supplications of all of those who put their trust in Him. Seek His face through meditation and prayer; Gain spiritual insight and wisdom. Our Father’s love is much too great to leave us on our own. He is our rock, our refuge, our strength; We never need to walk alone. Submit and surrender to His will; Watch His hand at work. Trust that He knows what is best; Learn the ways of His heart. Through prayer we get to know our Master, The Creator of the universe; He whispers truth, His protection is real; Come to Him with confidence! (1 John 5:14)
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

Bill Butters Bill came to Christ at Camp
n 1974, Bill Butters signed a contract to pay for the WHA's Minnesota Fighting Saints. Bill appeared in just 24 games; he scored two goals and had two assists for four points that season. In the 19751976 season, he played 59 games with the Fighting Saints. Then Bill was given the news that he had been traded to the Houston Aeros, where he played the last 14 games of that season. Bill in the 1976-1977 season returned to his home state of Minnesota as he signed again with the Fighting Saints as a free agent. But he was then traded to the Edmonton Oilers. Bill didn't have time to get used to his teammates or the Oilers team, as only after seven games into the season, Bill was traded to the New England Whalers. Halfway through the 1977-1978 season, Bill left the WHA to play in the NHL as he signed with the Minnesota North Stars. He played 23 games for the North Stars. Bill played for a second season in 1978-1979 and he played 49 games with the North Stars. Bill played a total of 72 games with the Minnesota North Stars where he scored one goal, had four assists for five points. Bill would play one more year of pro hockey in 1979-1980 with the Oklahoma City Stars of the CHL. He ended his hockey career where
he started it seven years before. Bill's unique pleasure was being associated with two hockey movie stars when he was twice in WHA trades with Jack and Steve Carlson. They played two of the three Hanson Brothers in the 1977 hockey movie, Slap Shot. Bill's life changed forever when he attended a Christian hockey camp in 1980. At the time, he did not want to attend. He said, "In one of the large group meetings, the song leader looked at me, assuming that all of the pro instructors at the camp were Christians, and sang, "Oh Billy, do you love Jesus?" I was supposed to respond, "Oh yes, I love Jesus." My face started getting red and my eyes welled up with tears. I was embarrassed, not so much because I didn't know the song, but because I didn't know who the song was about. During the meeting, Chico Resch, a pro goalie, got up and told how Jesus had changed his life. I had never heard anyone talk about a personal relationship with Christ before that time. I went back to my room, got down on my knees and asked Christ into my life. I admitted that I was a sinner and that I needed Him to help me turn away from the sinful life I was living. When I came home from camp, I knew Christ had changed me. I told my wife that at camp, I had asked God for forgiveness." Bill would later lead Jack Carlson, one of the three Hanson Brothers that the movie was based on, to Christ.

Walking With
May 2020
22 One Thousand Years before Jesus birth... T he Walking with Jesus journey continues every month as we learn more about Him. Although Psalm 22 speaks of David’s own distress and the Lord’s deliverance of him, it also prophetically describes Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. It was written under the supervision of the Holy Spirit who saw to it that it could apply to David’s immediate circumstances of facing these enemies who were causing him to despair – and at the same time, it could apply to Jesus Christ down to the very detail. In this psalm, we get surprising glimpses of our Lord Jesus Christ. We get to consider both his death and his resurrection. In verses 1 and 2, we learn that David was in agony. He asked God for help. He desperately prayed night and day that the Lord would deliver him. His prayer was passionate and persistent. Yet God did not answer. David felt abandoned by God, and in his mind, a big part of the proof of this abandonment was unanswered prayer. The Hebrew of Psalm 22:1 reads, “Eli eli lamah azabthani.” These very words would be uttered about 1,000 years later by the Son of David, Jesus Christ, when he was hanging on the cross. Matthew 27:46 recorded, “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Mark 15:34 records
as well: "At the ninth hour, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is translated, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?" David recalled that God had, in the past, delivered his people. But then he noted that God was not delivering him. In fact, his enemies were basically mocking him because it appeared, even to them, that the Lord had indeed abandoned David. Matthew 27:41-43 spoke of how the leaders of the priests mocked Jesus also. It says: “Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, said, “He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him. He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” David considered his extreme weakness in Psalm 22:14: "I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me." He pictured the enemies as piercing his hands and feet. In comparison, John 19:34 spoke of one of the soldiers pushing a spear into Jesus’ side: “But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.” Next month, we will continue with the study of Psalm 22, which is not only about David, but its also about Jesus.

The book of Luke Christ as the Son of God... W
e will now check out more of the Gospel of Luke. In April, we learned how Jesus had the power on earth to forgive sins, as we saw when the paralyzed man who was brought to Jesus by lowering him through the roof, was healed. This month, we will learn that Jesus has the power to bless people, such as when He stood in front of a multitude of people who came to hear Him speak and to be healed of their diseases. Luke 6:20-22 says, "Then He lifted up His eyes towards His disciples, and said: "Blessed are you poor, For yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, For you shall be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, For you shall laugh. Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man's sake." Jesus also had the authority to give people eternal life in heaven. When Jesus was being crucified on the cross between the robbers, one of them defended Jesus and he received the promise of paradise, as Luke 23:43 says: "And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." Luke's narrative contains much that is unique. His portrayal of Jesus reveals a man come to minister and show compassion to all people, no matter their status in life. The Gospel of Luke also gives details of Jesus' infancy found in no other Gospel. It includes the beautiful
birth story of the baby Jesus and the miracle conception by God. Among the notable parables found only in Luke's Gospel are those of the good Samaritan and the prodigal son. Jesus gives His followers instructions on how to help other through discipleship as Luke 10:1-9 says, "After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then he said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your way; behold I send you out as lambs among wolves. Carry neither money bag, knapsack, nor sandals; and greet no one along the road. But whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace to this house.' And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house. Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. And heal the sick there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.'" Luke places great emphasis on prayer, which is considered to be an important element of discipleship. Luke shows that prayer is the means by which God has guided His people throughout history.

Racing with Christ...
May 2020
Brad Coleman God opened doors for Brad... B
rad Coleman was born on February 26, 1988 in Houston, Texas. Brad set a world record as the youngest team to finish the Rolex 24 at the age of 16, he had the highest average finish of the 2006 Arca drivers at age 18, and Brad also had the highest finish of the 2007 NASCAR Busch non cup drivers at the age of 19. After a successful rookie season in 2007 with Joe Gibbs Racing, Brad then had two tough years in 2008 and 2009. Joe Gibbs Racing didn't have the sponsorship for Brad to continue racing for them in 2008, as he needed the time behind the wheel. Brad had to leave the team of strong Christian people who he truly liked to find another team to get some more time behind a wheel of a race car to chase his dream of a racing career. Brad struggled trying to figure out why God was pushing him away from Joe Gibbs Racing Team. He worked well with them and he cared for this Christian team deeply. After having to leave his team, Brad began to search for another race team. As time went on, he found life was becoming challenging for him to concentrate on what he needed to do. Things started happening all around
him that he wasn't expecting and hadn't experienced before this; it was very difficult for him. Then the economy in 2008 took a turn for the worst; this also added to Brad's frustrations for everything he was facing at that time. Brad did have a plan, but it wasn't working the way he had imagined it would work. Brad started questioning everything around him, other people, and he even started questioning God, which was worse than any of his other doubts. Brad was wanting to know why God took him out of a great opportunity and put him in such a stressful and difficult situation. The racing seasons of 2008 and 2009 had basically tested Brad beyond what any car race on the track had ever done. Yet when Brad faced difficult times as he had been facing, he always turned back to God and prayer. God kept Brad close to Him as he always had done in the past and encouraged him by letting him know that He had a better plan for him. God let Brad know that He will open doors that no one can open, and close other doors that no one can close, and His plan will be the answers to Brad's prayers, no matter how long it will take, it's in His perfect timing. God reminded him of the importants of forgiveness, salvation and of his family and friends. God also taught Brad virtue of patience and preserverance, and God also strengthened his faith.

Racing with Christ...
In 2009, Brad, by the grace of God, was back racing for Joe Gibbs Racing. He was blessed for the lessons he learned during the trial that he faced in his racing career. Brad then flew home to Houston, Texas, for the holidays to visit with his family and friends, a great time for him to relax and reflect. Brad also visited the Safeway Driving Center. He his father, Brandon, and the school's founder, Gene Walker, talked about the business, Brad's passion for racing and a retirement plan came together that day. The Coleman's acquired a Safeway Driving Center in early 2010. Brad now had a plan in business. After the holidays were over, he headed back to Charlotte, N.C., and back to racing. Brad had a couple of opportunities, and they both were to do with cars. Joe Gibbs Racing that year were led

by Kyle Busch and Brad as they helped to drive Joe Gibbs Racing to a 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Team Championship. Brad received his NASCAR Championship Ring and with all the money and recognition he could have received, Brad knew there was more to do than just racing. Brad said, "I knew God had other plans for my life." He also said, "I enjoyed racing and felt I really had a talent for racing, but I was never genuinely happy living in the world of motorsports. Sure, I had a lot of great friends in

racing and enjoyed the travel and the perks, but it just never really felt right for me." Following the 2010 NASCAR Championship Banquet, Brad had a new sponsor for his car, but they cancelled days before their press conference. He was feeling God was telling him that it was time to move on from racing. Brad later resigned from Joe Gibbs Racing and moved back to Houston in the summer of 2012. His goal is to help people be better drivers and save lives, by providing the best training for them.

Jeremy Camp Singer/songwriter and Ordained Minister... J eremy Thomas Camp was born January 12, 1978 in Lafayette, Indiana. Jeremy is an American contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter. His dad, Tom Camp, is the pastor at Harvest Chapel which is associated with Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California. Tom taught Jeremy how to play the guitar. Once he finished high school, Jeremy started classes for two years at the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California, where he graduated with an Associate of Theology degree and is now an ordained minister. When Jeremy was playing in the school, one of his worship leaders heard him. He then asked him to be a part of the worship team there. After awhile, Jeremy led the worship and started playing his music all over Southern California. Jeremy was married on October 12, 2000 to Melissa Lynn HenningCamp. Melissa was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and she passed away on February 5, 2001 at the age of 21. Jeremy's songs during this period of his life reflected the pain and emotional time he went through with the sickness. The first song he wrote after her death was "I Still believe" and the song, "Walk By Faith" was written
during their honeymoon. A movie that is now on DVD called, "I still Believe" is on Jeremy's romance with Melissa. On December 15, 2003, Jeremy was remarried to former lead singer of The Benjamin Gate Band, Adrienne Liesching. They have three children together, two daughters and one son. Ephesians 6:18
Prayer connects us to God...
rayer is an important and essential part of spiritual battle. Believers are to pray "in the Spirit", which means that, to some degree, your prayers will be based on the word of God. If you pray Colossians 1 for your family, you are praying for them according to God’s will. If you pray Romans 12 for Christians, you are praying according to God’s will. How can we pray in the Spirit or according to God’s will, for those things that are not in God’s word? As you spend time in his Word, you begin to develop a relationship with God, you learn what God's will is on issues that the Bible doesn’t touch on. Part of this as well, is the illumination of the Spirit helping you to understand God and use Biblical principles in circumstances that life throws your way. 1 John 5:14-15 says, “Now this is the confidence that we h a v e in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” We should pray as often as we can, especially in times of darkness, desertion, and temptation, with the heart, soul, and spirit engaged in it. While we may not be literally praying every waking second, there is never a good time to set prayer aside.
Praying always reminds us of what Paul said in 1 Thess 5:17; that we should be praying without ceasing; that we should always be maintaining an attitude of prayer. Have you ever tried to do this? It’s difficult, but try to develop the habit of being in a state of conscious communication with God while you go about your day. When you go for a walk, thank God for nature that surrounds you. As you work, pray for clarity of thought and wise use of your time. As you spend time with your family, be with
family, be thankful for them. Is there more power in praying for something a dozen times rather than only praying for it once? No, so why are we supposed to keep praying? Daniel 10 teaches us that there is warfare happening in the spiritual realm all the time, and this may significantly affect how, when and even whether or not God can answer any given prayer. Persevering in prayer is required for some prayers to get through. We should also pray with all prayer and supplication. The first

term, prayer refers to general requests; supplication refers to specific requests. We have a general prayer for those who are involved in witnessing and evangelism efforts. But then, as we hear of specific needs or specific people who need prayer, we need to pray for them by name. At the end of verse 18, Paul tells us to pray for all the saints. Sometimes, it seems that we spend much of our time praying for unbelievers that they might become Christians. If you want a person to become a Christian, witness to them. Pray for them as well, but make sure you are part of the answer to your prayers. Prayer is a powerful weapon that the enemy does not have and that the enemy cannot stop. Satan has no defense for this type of weapon. And it is often helpful to band together with other Christians in this. It is our pipe-line to the power of God! There truly is power in prayer. It is what God has given to us to make use of His power in this battle we are in. Next time you are facing a dire situation, call out to God for help, and He will send it. Ephesians 6:18: "And pray in the Spirit on all occassions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people."

Full Count “Have faith in your Courage
he movie, Full Count, start with Milton, a high school senior. He grew up learning how to play baseball with his dad on the farm. Now we jump forward to high school. Milton, his family and the town are going through a terrible drought. This causes the farm to go into bankruptcy. Because of the drought, Milton's dad wants Milton to quit his dream of baseball and work with him on the farm, although Milton's mom still wants Milton to chase his dream and play baseball. Fast forward again to present time in a hospital. Milton is in a coma with a severe hand injury. The police are there, as everything points to Milton as being in
serious trouble, but as of yet we don't know what happened. Now we jump back to Milton playing in a high school baseball game. Milton throws the wining pitch, which puts his team in the State Championship game. He now is spending his days getting ready for his big game that's coming up. Milton's mom inspires him and tells him that she's going to do everything possible to get his dad to go to his big game. The State Championship game picks up in the ninth inning, when both Milton's mom and dad show up. When Milton sees them in the stands, it inspires him and he strikes out the batter to end the game and win the championship. After the game, Milton is approached by a university baseball scout. His dad tells the scout he isn't interested, as Milton will be working on the farm. After a couple of days passed, Milton's dad came to him and told him that he was sorry about his behaviour. He then gave Milton a family heirloom and gives him his blessing to go ahead and play baseball. Milton arrives at Mountainview University. He meets his

teammate, who is also his roommate. He also meets another teammate who feels threatened by Milton, because he could lose his starting pitcher spot to Milton. Before they play their first game, the manager tells Milton that he is the team's starting pitcher. This angers the other pitcher. He talks with his dad about it on the phone who becomes angry at him for losing the pitcher's spot. He then commits suicide with pills. We then shift over to Milton's dad working on the farm with his tractor. At that moment, he has a heart attack and passes away. We are now told the reason why Milton is in hospital. Milton was in a serious accident, but he can't remember it. Milton could end up in prison as a result of the accident. This is how Milton suffered his career-ending hand injury. When it appears that all is now lost with Milton and the family farm, a drifter named David told Milton's mom he will work for free, for one meal a day. Milton's mom accepts his offer and help. Miracles then start to happen after David arrives. This could be good news for the struggling family in hard times. I found the movie to be very encouraging, because despite everything that happened to Milton and his family, when you keep the faith, God will always come through for you and bless you in many ways.
