appy New Year 2019! 2018 has come and gone and we are now beginning a brand new year. Many people start New Year resolutions to help better themselves, such as lose weight, stop smoking, stop drinking, or limit their time on their smart phones, etc. How about considering the following four resolutions for 2019? 1: Put God First. 2: Read the Bible every Day. 3: Pray Continuously. 4: Trust God no Matter what Happens. Not only make these four resolutions but keep them and we will feel the presence of God in our lives more, which will strengthen us. Also, our faith will become stronger. Let’s examine these four resolutions: 1: Put God First. By putting God first in our lives every day; by living in His will from His word, which is our daily Manna; by praying and speaking to Him all day and night; by reading our Bibles, even remembering
A New Beginning
to say Grace are all important ways of putting God first in every aspect of our daily lives. Doing these things will begin to strengthen us on the inside and they will prepare us to move forward in His word. It also makes our faith much stronger to help us step out and totally trust Him completely. We know by His word that He will fulfill us, He will always provide for us…whether it is clothes, transportation, shelter or food we need. (Matthew 6:31-33) Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 2: Read the Bible every Day. We really need to know God's word; it helps us to understand who is speaking truth to us and who is not. There are many false prophets (wolves in sheep's clothing) and we need to practice discernment so we will not be led astray. Reading the Bible every day encourages us (Joshua 1:9) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. It lifts us up; it gives us direction and it
balances out our lives. It shows us how we should be living and how to conduct our everyday lives in a way that is pleasing to God. It also teaches us not to sin. (Psalm 119:11) Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. 3: Pray Continuously. How is this possible you ask? How can I pray without ceasing? Praying without ceasing is a biblical term which is found in the Apostle Paul's first letter to Thessalonica: (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. The Greek word ‘without ceasing’ means continuous action. Therefore, ‘pray without ceasing’ means to pray continuously. This allows God to work in our lives. We open a door of communication with Him and it allows Him to come into our hearts and change us from within. All we have to do is start talking to Him; talk to Him with our minds and our hearts. We can do this all through the day or night, at work or even while we relax at home. It's a great way to keep our minds active and strong; by sharing all of our most intimate thoughts and feelings with God. He really loves it when we go to Him for any reason. We should always keep an open channel with Him; after all, God wants to hear from us and be a part of our lives always.

A New Beginning
4: Trust God no Matter what Happens. Trust God no matter what; trust Him in both good times and bad. We can't see the whole picture; we only can see a small part of it but God is looking at the whole picture and He is saying to us, ‘Just wait, trust Me and I will bring you something that is so much better than what you have been asking for.’ (Proverbs 3: 5-6) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. So if you haven't received what you wanted or what you asked for, just clear your mind. Relax and open your heart to Him; trust Him and praise Him in the hallway and wait for His perfect timing to open the door. Then watch the blessings come out; you just never know what He has waiting for you. Here are some scriptures on sacrifice, new life and fresh new beginnings...
Jesus body and His blood give us new life…newness of life and fresh beginnings. Christ is our only hope of new life! He sacrificed His very life on the Cross for us; to have that new life in Him.
2. 2 John 1:5-6 And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. This is love, that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it. Want a fresh start? Want a new beginning? Start loving. That is the new commandment that Jesus came to bring us. Walk in love.
3. Revelation 21:1-3 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming 1. Matthew 26: 27-29 Then He down out of heaven from God, took the cup, and gave thanks, prepared as a bride adorned and gave it to them, saying, for her husband. And I heard a "Drink from it, all of you. For loud voice from heaven saying, this is My blood of the new "Behold, the tabernacle of God covenant, which is shed for is with men, and He will dwell many for the remission of sins. with them, and they shall be But I say to you, I will not drink His people. God Himself will be of this fruit of the vine from now with them and be their God." on until that day when I drink Do you ever stop and think it new with you in My Father's about heaven; about the Kingdom." beautiful new heaven and earth;

about praising God forever and ever? No more tears, no more death...the victory is ours! 4. John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Unbelievers will recognize believers by their deeds of love for one another. The old command to love was new because Jesus gave it a new standard…to love as He loves us. Jesus is our example of love; let’s follow Him and walk in love. I plan to practice these four resolutions a lot more in 2019… it's a great exercise to bring us closer to God this year and every year. Will you join me?

I Am Potential “Inspiring, powerful and heart-touching”
B
ased on the true story of Patrick Henry Hughes, I AM POTENTIAL shows the life of a boy who is blind and lives his life in a wheelchair as he starts overcoming all the odds and lets the world see all of his truly God given talents. I AM POTENTIAL does have a few sad parts in this movie but it also has an inspiring Christian message that makes this movie a wonderful viewing for the whole family. Patrick Henry Hughes was born in Louisville, Kentucky, his father and mother being very young. There were no complications with her pregnancy until the birth of their baby boy. Patrick had a very rare condition at birth in which
his eyes didn't develop properly. He also had some form of dwarfism that shortened his joints. This was a huge surprise to his young father and mother, especially for Patrick Henry’s father because he always dreamed of watching his son play football on the Louisville college team. With all of the devastating news, they take their baby boy home and start discussing the next steps to keep Patrick Henry alive. Patricia, his mother, starts taking responsibility and does everything she possibly can for her son which includes all the doctor visits, the surgeries and all of the house renovations that Patrick Henry will need. Now Patrick John, the father, decides to go deeper into his responsibilities which involve his job. He also starts filling his free time playing basketball with his friends which takes away from being at home and helping his wife take care of their son. All of the bad choices that Patrick John is making begin to ruin his family and leaves his wife filled with anger. But with all the constant prayers and the strong
faith from Patricia, things begin to change in Patrick John's heart. On the night that he is left alone with his son, while taking care of him, he comes across Patrick Henry’s love of music. The discovery totally changes the way his father looks at him and is filled with hope for his son's potential future. The piano lessons start for Patrick Henry with his father's help. He is by his side and quickly a talented star is born. As he grows older and gets better with his music, he starts to play in front of larger crowds. With Patrick Henry's growing fame, his father is facing a dilemma between taking a promotion at his job that will require more travelling and much more time away from his family, or being with his son and helping him reach his full potential and succeed with his God given talents. His decision to choose his son and family over his job and promotion starts the two on a wonderful journey that will bring them not only closer to each other, but closer to Almighty God as well, who created such an amazing young man. I AM POTENTIAL is such a beautiful movie that is about love and dedication that Patrick John and Patricia Hughes had for their son. Until next time, God bless you all, from everyone here at His Grace.

A New Beginning
We say, “Out with the old, in with the New”… Life lessons we’ve learned, experiences so true The joys, heartaches, laughter and pains Who we are is all that life brings How we cope with good things and bad… Does it consume us, make us angry or sad? Sing a New Song, oh all the earth Sing of His glory, majesty and truth We must not live by our strength alone But by every Word that proceeds from the Son His Compassions are New each and every day Fills us with hope as we tarry on our way Put on the Man who is tender and meek Let us love, forgive and His wisdom seek Let the peace of God rule in our hearts His everlasting Word dwell in our thoughts He gives us a New Heart and helps to begin A New Life through Jesus; a New Spirit within A New Creation we are; old things passed away Restored by Christ; a New Beginning today Read: 2 Corinthians 5:17

irst of all, the story behind The Garden album… Kari, originally from Texas, moved to their new home in Nashville with her husband. That same year, both Kari and her sister, Kris, were very excited to be pregnant. But just seven and a half months later, tragedy struck as Kris's daughter, Ivy, was stillborn. The family was devastated and while still hurting for her sister, Kari gave birth to her son, Canyon, on February 18, 2016. God gave her the name of Canyon for her son ahead of time, which gave her lots of strength to go through her pregnancy while still grieving for her sister. Canyon means deep ravines of water that flow and are formed from storms… God giving her the name brought her so much peace at a difficult time. While the birth of Canyon was a blessing to celebrate, her sister's loss was heavy on her heart. Then a beautiful reminder of God's kindness revealed itself in an amazing way. As Kari stood in front of her kitchen window holding her son, there in the backyard she saw the signs of spring. When they bought the house, a garden had been planted at the back. The result was a breathtaking bounty of a harvest. It was a reminder of God's faithfulness and goodness in all circumstances.
Kari Jobe The Garden...
Me" is a unique song; it has quiet moments which really stand out against the electronic background sound. Album highlight "Lover of My Soul" is the most romantic worship song that I have ever heard. It has such a beautiful message; it sends a message that our relationship with God is one that will last forever. Kari Jobe's The Garden is a beautiful moving album that worships God, making this album perfect for times of personal worship and waiting on the Lord. The music and all the lyrics will encourage everyone who listens to slow down, stop and just refocus on God… something that is a must in this chaotic world we all live in.
The experience produced the title track of Kari's album, The Garden, and healing for her soul. Something in her soul and spirit started to come back to life; her soul was starting to wake up. After all the hurt and pain, everything was starting to bloom in her heart again. The album begins with a very Until next time, God bless you all, soft and almost quiet piano sound. “The Garden” is a beautiful song from everyone here at His Grace. with so much meaning. Overcomer
Unmovable Faith, Unbelievable Power...
By: Dr. David Jeremiah
W
e are now living in a time of uncertainty. Yet the Bible does promise that we are created to enjoy our lives of freedom, even in these times when this world around us just seems to be filled with darkness. We are created to be overcomers… to conquer the greatest obstacles in our lifetime. Dr. David Jeremiah's new book, Overcomer offers his insights on one of the most quoted and also least understood scriptures in the Bible…the Apostle Paul's warnings to the Ephesians to take up the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10- 18). The call to ‘be strong’ isn't new, as every Christian regardless of his or her age or maturity, has been called by God's word to be an overcomer. Letting our fears or our anxieties continue to get in our way and keeping us from the fight isn't an option. God promises to strengthen us with all of His might. Are you an overcomer? God has created us to be! So enough of living in defeat… get up and move forward! God has given us supernatural tools to be used here on earth that can both protect us from the enemy and also strengthen us to become conquerors of the greatest barriers in our lives. Spiritual attacks shouldn't leave us defeated,
discouraged or distraught in any way. Feeling powerless? What has power over you in this world that is filled with power; so much so, that most of us feel powerless? We are in the fight of our lives, but can't find the strength we truly need. Yes, God wants us to be strong and have courage. He wants to build a spirit of power in our lives. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). With his wisdom, knowledge and compassion, Dr. David Jeremiah explores the powerful importance of spiritual armor as an important weapon to use each day as we come head to head
with the specific challenges in our everyday lives. Have you had enough with living your life in defeat? Then it's time to find renewed strength and claim all the promises of God's word to overcome life's greatest threats and trials. This book is wonderful; each of the chapters shows us how to overcome difficult things in our lives with God's help (anxiety with peace, fear with faith, temptation with scripture and everything through prayer). I really enjoyed reading this book because it is so applicable to our lives. It will give us so much peace and fill us with joy. This book is such a blessing for people. It shows us how to overcome the things that stand between us and God; also God shows us His love through this book. Overcomer is a very inspiring book; one that I will read over and over again…it will help us through all of life's journeys. I recommend this book; it's a very good read that everyone will benefit from, especially Christians, to become stronger in God's word. It's so easy to understand and it's full of scriptures that will make our journey that much better. Until next time, God bless you all, from everyone here at His Grace.

Psalm 20:
The Assurance of God's Saving Work To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David
May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion; May He remember all your offerings, And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah May He grant you according to your heart's desire, And fulfill all your purpose. We will rejoice in your salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed, He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright. Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call.

Joy in the Salvation of the Lord To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David
Psalms
His Grace, January 2019
The king shall have joy in Your strength, O Lord; And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! You have given him his heart's desire, And have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah For You meet him with the blessings of goodness; You set a crown of pure gold upon his head. He asked life from You, and You gave it to him - Length of days forever and ever. His glory is great in Your salvation; Honor and majesty You have placed upon him. For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence. For the king trusts in the Lord, And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved. Your hand will find all your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You. You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The Lord shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them. Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth, And their descendants from among the sons of men. For they intended evil against You; They devised a plot which they are not able to perform. Therefore You will make them turn their back; You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces. Be exalted, O Lord, in Your own strength! We will sing and praise Your power.

Psalm 22:
The Suffering, Praise, and Posterity of the Messiah To the Chief Musician. Set to "The Deer of the Dawn." A Psalm of David
My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear; And in the night season, and am not silent. But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. Our fathers trusted in You; They trusted, and You delivered them. They cried to You, and were delivered; They trusted in You, and were not ashamed. But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people. All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!" But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother's breasts. I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother's womb You have been My God. Be not far from Me, For trouble is near; For there is none to help. Many bulls have surrounded Me; strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me. They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion.

I am poured out like water, And all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; It has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a potsherd, And My tongue clings to My jaws; You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots. But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me; O My Strength, hasten to help Me! Deliver Me from the sword, My precious life from the power of the dog. Save Me from the lion's mouth And from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me. I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You. You who fear the Lord, praise Him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him, And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel! For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor has He hidden His face from Him; But when He cried to Him, He heard. My praise shall be of You in the great assembly; I will pay My vows before those who fear Him. The poor shall eat and be satisfied; Those who seek Him will praise the Lord. Let your heart

live forever! All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the Lord, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the Lord's, And He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth Shall eat and worship; All those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep himself alive. A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation, They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, That He has done this.
Psalm 23:
The Lord the Shepherd of His People A Psalm of David
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Psalm 24:
The King of Glory and His Kingdom A Psalm of David
The earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face. Selah Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

Your Journey to God
Celia Deegan's Story "Help me." These two words burst out of the desperate heart of a four year old child and became the most powerful prayer I ever prayed. A fog has claimed most of the details surrounding the event itself, but certain things have remained perfectly clear involving my first real encounter with the presence of God. I imagined nothing. The presence I felt that night is the same now and as real to me today at age 51 as it was 47 years ago. Mine was a bad childhood from the very start. I was unplanned and unwanted pregnancy and my mother's opinion of me didn't change the day I was born. What I recall most about the first four years of my life is mostly just a complete absence of love and the acute awareness that my mother hated me. I was afraid of her. I was afraid to talk to her and I was most certainly afraid of the way she talked to me. I spent most of my time wishing that it was bedtime. At least there alone in the darkness and under my blankets, I felt safe. And sometimes, bedtime came earlier than usual and without supper. I never complained. A four year old heart can carry the heavy weight of pain without complaining as a learned coping mechanism, but there were times when I couldn't hold back the tears nor deny the desperation of living
in a cold climate of hostility. I am sure that we are born with the ability to survive anything and I am also sure that the awareness of being hated is absolutely heartbreaking for any child. I'm not sure that it was an actual panic attack but I am sure of one particular night when the ache inside my chest left me gasping for breath. I felt like I was going in and out of consciousness. The little I knew about life at that point left me with the impression that it was nothing I wanted to pursue. This may have been the closest I ever really came to giving up completely before the panic struck. Somewhere in there, as I struggled to breathe, I coughed out two simple words: "Help me..." I choked and I trembled and my little fists were tightly clenched around my blankets. Suddenly, in that moment, an incomprehensible presence of peace and love began to surround me. I began to breathe. The tears stopped. My heart rate slowed as a sweet sense of relaxation came over me. I began to smile, which is something I don't ever remember doing a lot of before that moment. I felt a profound sense of comfort and warmth wash over me and it was then that I felt His presence right there in that room with me. An incredible sense of joy filled my heart. I couldn't see Him, but I knew He was there. And I was in a total state of awe. I didn't know

who He was but I knew He was real. I knew He loved me and I knew that I loved Him. This was my first real taste of true love, in its purest form. And in that moment, I knew that I would always be okay because something in that Divine Presence made me feel certain that I would never lose contact with what I encountered that night. And I never have, not even once, in all these years. In the days, weeks, months and years that followed, despite the storms that would come, I became a joyful child who rarely lost her smile. I'm not sure how it is even possible that a four year old could know in her innermost being that she had come to know and experience her Heavenly Father God, but I just knew. His ways are not our ways and the God I serve is able to open the eyes and the heart of a child to His presence. Of course He can, He's God! It no longer mattered who hated me because I had been touched with a love so incredibly Divine that no human love could ever compare to that. He became my purpose for living as I slowly came into the awareness of God, the Bible, the Church, other believers, etc. The night I met Him left me with an insatiable hunger to know more, to pursue Him for the rest of my life and to seek out the hurting and the broken with the message of God's love.
