nother thanksgiving has come and gone here in Canada. For our friends in the United States, Thanksgiving is almost upon them. To be thankful… what does that mean to you? To me, it means to have appreciation and be filled with gratitude towards God for all He’s done for me; for all the blessings, all the love and forgiveness He has shown me through the years. It also means it’s a time to be close to family and loved ones. I’m thankful to have loved ones, a family and a wonderful woman that loves me. What are you thankful for? I am thankful for so much in my life right now…food on the table, roof over my head, boots and clothing to get me through the seasons; all provided by a loving God. That is such a beautiful blessing. . When you stop and take it all in, what a wonderful feeling it really is. I feel God’s hands all over me working away in my life and I’m truly thankful for that.

A Thankful Heart

It’s so easy to feel thankful and blessed when things in your life are going good, but what happens when trials and storms come into your life? Do you still have a thankful heart towards God or do you get down and pull away? Do you start to question everything God is doing? Have you lost the thankful feeling, the thankful heart that you had when things were going good for you? As difficult as it is, we must remember that we are not thankful for the trial or the bad times we are going through, but thankful that we have a God beside us, helping us, comforting us and lifting us up above all the trials.

Psalm 149 also encourages us to praise Him at all times, regardless of circumstances. In times of blessing, praise Him! In times of suffering praise Him! In times of warfare, praise Him! Give God all the glory through the good and the bad.

It’s awesome to go about your day thanking God for ‘small miracles’, because God manifests Himself and His love through the little things as well as the big things. Praising Him in good times opens our eyes to see all of His blessings that He bestows on us. When we are in sync with God, we pick up even on those small things; it puts a smile on our face and a song in our heart knowing that Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter into He’s with us every moment of His gates with thanksgiving, the day. And into His courts with praise. During the rough days, it’s so Be thankful to Him, and bless important to always look for the His name.” This verse contains good, because evil will always two commands that urge us be staring us in the face, as long to speak directly to the Lord. as the evil one is in the world. It tells us to come into His Praising God in hard times is presence with a thankful heart harder to do, but God can turn and with praise for Him. For things around. Sometimes He is our Lord God deserves all the testing us to see what we will do honor and glory, for there is no in certain situations, but when other God but Him. we praise the Lord anyhow, the The truth is, God has a way of evil one cannot step into our taking away bad, horrible stuff lives and start messing things and turning it into something up as he likes to do. good. It makes us stronger, Remember that through every it makes us love the Lord and gives us the desire to serve trial you go through, we grow Him with all our hearts, to be stronger in Him who is in us. eternally thankful and feeling God will always turn a bad situation into something much blessed.

Here are ten encouraging Psalms to ponder around Thanksgiving time. Read these Psalms as you praise God and thank Him for His grace and love…

God's Not Dead 3 “A Light in Darkness”

G

od's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness is a 2018 Christian film written and directed by Michael Mason. It is the third film of the God's Not Dead series; God’s Not Dead released in 2014 and its sequel, God's Not Dead 2 in 2016. A Light in Darkness was released in U.S. on March 30, 2018. The drama film made less than the other two films while in theatres ($7.2 million); the first two grossing $9.7 million and $7.6 million respectively. After Rev. Dave Hill is released from prison (continuation from God's Not Dead 2), controversy is raised up against Dave's St. James

Church, which happens to be on the college campus grounds. This unfortunately causes the college to begin the process of closing down the church, which disappoints Dave and his Pastor partner, Jude. When they’re both informed on the decision to close the church and to shut down their plans to replace it with a bigger building, Dave and Jude begin a process of suing the college to save the church. But things become much worse when a college student, Adam Richertson, in protest throws a brick through the church window causing a gas leak and an explosion that kills Jude and severely damages the church. Dave is forced to come to grips with the loss of these tragic events. Adam is devastated by his actions and wonders whether to confess to the crime. During the lawsuit against the church, Dave goes to his estranged brother for help, attorney Pearce Hill, who really doesn't want to get involved and explains that it’s not a case worth fighting for. Dave refuses to listen to his brother’s advice and goes ahead

with the case anyhow. When Dave receives an anonymous text about the college student Adam confessing to the church fire, it causes Dave to boil over with anger and he assaults Adam. This severely hurts his lawyer’s case; it also leads to Adam’s arrest on felony charges.

After seeking God's help about the church through prayer, Dave eventually comes to grips with everything. He realizes that his case has only made things much worse and that it's time to let the St. James Church go. He drops his lawsuit and settles out of court with the college. After talking to a repentant Adam and with Jude's family, Dave asks to have the criminal charges dropped against Adam. While they leave St. James Church behind to be torn down, Dave opens up St. Jude Church not far from the school for his future followers.

Starring: David A. R. White, John Corbett, Shane Harper, Ted McGinley, Tatum O'Neal Director: Michael Mason

Producers: David A. R. White, Michael Scott, Brittany Travis, Alysoun Wolfe. God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness is available on Blue ray and DVD now.

A Thankful Heart

I thank you, Lord, with all my heart; I sing praise to you before the gods. I face your holy Temple, bow down, and praise your name because of your constant love and faithfulness, because you have shown that your name and your commands are supreme. You answered me when I called to you; with your strength you strengthened me. All the kings in the world will praise you, Lord, because they have heard your promises. They will sing about what you have done and about your great glory. Even though you are so high above, you care for the lowly, and the proud cannot hide from you. When I am surrounded by troubles, you keep me safe. You oppose my angry enemies and save me by your power. You will do everything you have promised; Lord, your love is eternal. Complete the work that you have begun.

AMEN

Newsboys...God's Not Dead The Greatest Hits of the Newsboys... N

ewsboys, founded in 1985, is a pop/rock Christian band from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia that does worship music very well, as proven on their past signature single It Is You and their bestselling 2003 album Adoration, which won them the Dove Award in 2004 for best praise and worship album of the year. In 2010, the revised Newsboys group first studio album Born Again featuring Michael Tait debuted at #4, their highest position on Billboard 200, selling over 45,000 copies in its first week becoming a huge radio/ retail hit. God's Not Dead: The Greatest Hits of the Newboys is an enjoyable album. It has all their hits you love with Michael Tait as their lead singer. The former dc talker took over the reins from Peter Furler back in 2009 as he helped make this worship album a very inspiring group of songs.

Hands of God.

With the very sleek guitar vibes and the smooth pop sounds, this album delivers a great modern sounding worship album; a completely unmistakable sound. God's Not Dead: The Greatest Hits of Newsboys album feels so complete and is worth looking into and buying for any worship fan. This album was released in February 2016. I just purchased it and thought I would review it as I really enjoyed the album. I also love all the songs; a great CD to listen to at home or on long trips.

The Audacious Molly Bruno

Life of a Powerful Woman of Prayer

By: Marie Armenia

M

olly Bruno was a reallife Prayer Warrior who inspired ‘Miss Clara’, the character from the Kendrick movie, ‘War Room’. By reading this book, you will learn how to pray boldly from Molly with audacity, believing everyday that nothing is impossible for God to handle.

This book, The Audacious Molly Bruno was written by her daughter, Marie Armenia. It's an enjoyable, funny and loving Godly book. Molly would always tell people about God, that God loved them. It didn't matter where she was or what she was doing; In the book Marie writes, ”I Molly would just tell them that remember the prayer she prayed Jesus loved them. every morning without fail; Lord, Some people listened, some please send someone my way didn't; but it never stopped her. today that I can tell about you.” Molly was a true warrior for Jesus Everyone, and I mean everyone and such a blessing to the many who met Molly Bruno, fell in people she came in contact with. love with her. approach the throne of God with confidence so we may receive mercy and find His loving grace to help us in our time of need. Marie says her mother didn't teach her to pray any more than she taught her how to breathe.

She saw her pray REAL prayers, using REAL words addressing a REAL God. Marie learned by observing her mother's prayer life, that the last thing on earth that should be edited is a prayer. Molly had no fear of God's displeasure or that He might scold her for asking Him for the impossible things. Molly felt no need to change her heart to the one she loved. She knew God knew her heart. Knowing this between herself and God, Molly asked and asked again. By doing so, she got incredible answers time after time from God. The Audacious Molly Bruno will teach you how to pray with a beautiful hope, a deep joy and a strong faith. I truly enjoyed reading this book. Molly had a way with words and a way of telling people about Jesus and how much He loves us. This book truly inspired me to get out and spread His love. Until next time, God bless you all, from everyone here at His Grace.

Psalm 7: Prayer and Praise for Deliverance from Enemies A Meditation of David, which he sang to the Lord concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.

O Lord my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me, Lest they tear me like a lion, Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver O Lord my God, if I have done this: If there is iniquity in my hands, If I have repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, Or have plundered my enemy without cause, Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me; Yes, let him trample my life to the earth, And lay my honor in the dust Selah Arise, O Lord, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded! So the congregation of the peoples shall surround You; For their sakes, therefore, return on high. The Lord shall judge the peoples; Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me. Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, But establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds. My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart.

Psalms

God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day, If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready. He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; Yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. He made a pit and dug it out, And has fallen into the ditch which he made. His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown. I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

Psalm 8:

The Glory of the Lord in Creation To the Chief Musician. On the instrument of Gath. A Psalm of David.

O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You

have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen - Even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!

Thanksgiving Prayer

Lord, thank You for walking with us through the seasons of our lives For the winter when we are held safe in Your arms through the darkness For the hope of spring as we are filled with new promise and life For summer time full of warmth and color And for autumn days as leaves fall to seed new growth You are with us always Amen.

Your Journey to God

Celia Deegan's Story "Help me." These two words burst out of the desperate heart of a four year old child and became the most powerful prayer I ever prayed. A fog has claimed most of the details surrounding the event itself, but certain things have remained perfectly clear involving my first real encounter with the presence of God. I imagined nothing. The presence I felt that night is the same now and as real to me today at age 51 as it was 47 years ago. Mine was a bad childhood from the very start. I was unplanned and unwanted pregnancy and my mother's opinion of me didn't change the day I was born. What I recall most about the first four years of my life is mostly just a complete absence of love and the acute awareness that my mother hated me. I was afraid of her. I was afraid to talk to her and I was most certainly afraid of the way she talked to me. I spent most of my time wishing that it was bedtime. At least there alone in the darkness and under my blankets, I felt safe. And sometimes, bedtime came earlier than usual and without supper. I never complained. A four year old heart can carry the heavy weight of pain without complaining as a learned coping mechanism, but there were times when I couldn't hold back the tears nor deny the desperation of living

in a cold climate of hostility. I am sure that we are born with the ability to survive anything and I am also sure that the awareness of being hated is absolutely heartbreaking for any child. I'm not sure that it was an actual panic attack but I am sure of one particular night when the ache inside my chest left me gasping for breath. I felt like I was going in and out of consciousness. The little I knew about life at that point left me with the impression that it was nothing I wanted to pursue. This may have been the closest I ever really came to giving up completely before the panic struck. Somewhere in there, as I struggled to breathe, I coughed out two simple words: "Help me..." I choked and I trembled and my little fists were tightly clenched around my blankets. Suddenly, in that moment, an incomprehensible presence of peace and love began to surround me. I began to breathe. The tears stopped. My heart rate slowed as a sweet sense of relaxation came over me. I began to smile, which is something I don't ever remember doing a lot of before that moment. I felt a profound sense of comfort and warmth wash over me and it was then that I felt His presence right there in that room with me. An incredible sense of joy filled my heart. I couldn't see Him, but I knew He was there. And I was in a total state of awe. I didn't know

who He was but I knew He was real. I knew He loved me and I knew that I loved Him. This was my first real taste of true love, in its purest form. And in that moment, I knew that I would always be okay because something in that Divine Presence made me feel certain that I would never lose contact with what I encountered that night. And I never have, not even once, in all these years. In the days, weeks, months and years that followed, despite the storms that would come, I became a joyful child who rarely lost her smile. I'm not sure how it is even possible that a four year old could know in her innermost being that she had come to know and experience her Heavenly Father God, but I just knew. His ways are not our ways and the God I serve is able to open the eyes and the heart of a child to His presence. Of course He can, He's God! It no longer mattered who hated me because I had been touched with a love so incredibly Divine that no human love could ever compare to that. He became my purpose for living as I slowly came into the awareness of God, the Bible, the Church, other believers, etc. The night I met Him left me with an insatiable hunger to know more, to pursue Him for the rest of my life and to seek out the hurting and the broken with the message of God's love.
