Jalen Hurts

Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts, says 'I lean on Him'; it all points to a faithful God

The football star quarterback from the Philadelphia Eagles, Jalen Hurts, is off to an amazing start this year as he and his team are 6-0. He is being praised in the way he is playing and leading his team with the NFL's top offense, and he says all his success this year is pointing fans right to God.

Jalen says, "Be who God called you to be." That's the way that Jalen is living his life, being strong and bold about his faith as a Christian and his calling from God to be that light, on and off the field.

Jalen led the Eagles to a big win during a Monday night football game, as he had two rushing touchdowns, then he topped that off with a 53 yard touchdown pass.

Regardless of his individual and team success this year, the 24 year old is giving God all the glory. Jalen says, "I've just matured and realized that God is everything. He is worthy of praise. You have to put Him at the center of everything that you do. That's what I believe." He also said, "All my spiritual wisdom, all of my wisdom as a whole, comes from Him, in some way, shape, or form, whether that be passed down from my father, my mother, my grandmother. I just think, in all the things that we experience in life, good, bad or indifferent, you have to keep Him in the center."

Jalen continually shows that he keeps God at the center of the game, as he takes a knee on the field and prays.

Jalen's faith is plainly part of his social media, as he tweeted a picture of himself praying on the field and saying, "He is an on time God!"

Jelan also tweets Bible verses. Back during Easter, he tweeted about Jesus' resurrection in Luke 24.

Jalen also said that his faith has brought him through some rough seasons, which included being benched following his freshman year at the University of Alabama. Jalen, said, "I understand that God put those obstacles and challenges in my life for a reason. He wanted me to feel the pain I felt for a reason. He wanted me to understand the importance of never losing faith, and of always staying true to myself. He had NOT brought me this far just to leave me there." He also said, "Whatever it is you're going through, never lose your trust in God and never lose your faith in God. Keep your head down, be graceful, keep on controlling what you can. Give it to the Lord and do your best. Regardless of the situation, you may not know now, but later you'll understand."

"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
