HISTORIC MACON TO HOST DISCOVERY DAYS Macon’s own version of Antiques Roadshow! MACON, Ga. — Maconites will soon have the opportunity to discover how much their precious heirlooms and antiques are actually worth. Historic Macon Foundation’s annual Discovery Days will take place Friday and Saturday, May 18–19. Roderick A. Hardy, president of Atlanta-based firm Hardy/Halpern, Inc., will be on-site at 1105 Bond St. (new location this year only) to give expert verbal appraisals of antiques on Friday, May 18 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Advance reservations are required. There is a $25 reservation fee; each item appraised will be $15. Participants will receive 10 minutes for their first item and five minutes for each subsequent item. All proceeds support Historic Macon’s mission. About Historic Macon Foundation Historic Macon Foundation is a nonprofit organization that advocates for Macon’s historic and architectural heritage, facilitates preservation and revitalization efforts in the community and educates and inspires appreciation for Macon, GA. The Middle Georgia Historical Society and the Macon Heritage Foundation merged in 2003 to create Historic Macon Foundation.
