UPCOMING HARD HAT PARTY TO KICK OFF HISTORIC MACON DECORATORS’ SHOWHOUSE MACON, Ga. — Historic Macon Foundation will soon kick off its 19th biennial Decorators’ Showhouse, which showcases a beautiful historic home and the talents of area decorators. The 2013 Showhouse is located in the heart of the InTown neighborhood at 1120 Georgia Ave., the home of David and Brooke Merrill. The event will feature more than 15 expert decorators, some of whom have been involved with the Showhouse since its inception. The Hard Hat Party is the first event and will be held on Feb. 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Showhouse. This event gives attendees the chance to see the home before construction and decorating take place. A light meal, wine and beer will be served. The Top Hat Gala will take place on April 17 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and gives guests the first opportunity to view the professionally decorated home. The gala will take place at the Woodruff House, 988 Bond St., while the Showhouse is open for viewing. A NewTown trolley will run between the two locations throughout the evening. A catered dinner and open bar are included. The Showhouse will be open for daily tours April 18–28. Tour times are as follows: Mondays– Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Fridays–Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sundays, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Admission to the Hard Hat Party is $25 per person in advance and $30 at the door. Admission to the Top Hat Gala is $75 per person; advance reservations are preferred. Daily tour tickets are $20 per person. A special $15 advance rate is open to Historic Macon members until April 15. Individual and business sponsorships are available. According to level, sponsors receive tickets to all events and recognition in event materials.
