Prologue This is a portfolio of 4 years that I’ve been learning in the faculty.of Architecture and planing, Thammasat university. A collection of the design work for all the time in the studio. Many of my work may not good enough but it show the development in architecture skill. I am the one that did not want to be an architecture at the first time. But with the desire of my family I have to finish it. After 4 years I growth up and learn to think like architecture. Tyr to do a good wprk even in every year I want to stop it, So this is not just a protfolio to collect the work but it is also a part of my life, a part of development. May most of work in the stuio was not finish when the time is up, in this fina; I made it all new, made it untill it finish nice. So this is a little hope that you might see some thing inside me, see somthing of my concern that I want. BEST

Description: A fundamental study of visual arts in both two and multiple dimensions are using various techniques such as composition, arrangement of voids and spaces, and combination of the colors and textures of materials to bring forth the desired effects in design and planning. Context: In such contemporary social phenomena, one is asked to investigate and identify issues of intervention. These issues derive from the careful and rigorous search for an immediate response of the mind of an observer. The work produced in a school of architecture is necessarily provocative and controversial. It is an interpretation of the vision transcribing and understanding of an architect. The first year studio focuses on exploration of the phenomenological and architectonic potential of the abstract elements that will create the “ architectonic precision,” which has its own manifold trajectories. The concept will be developing as a “system of relation” between the different elements considered, and should apply to an architectural-related scale. Duration: 2nd semester of 2009 Be in charge of: Vichai Laopanitchakul

VISUAL STUDY

Scis-sis

This project talked about an object that would be improve a humen skill. Which this object may improve a skill of human in the work process. We studied about a mechanics things or any of subjects that you might interested in it. And then started to studied in deep way. You have to know all of joints and the dynumic in it. Started with the mocl up the original model and then just improve or suggest a better choises to improve a skiill of the model movement. After we finished the first phase we started to improve our object, The subject chalenced us ti create an object that could be imphasized with human body and it would be usefull for human. I started wiht my object, an umbrella. After many of critics I desiced to make it like a garden tool. This idea comes from my mother, she always complains about a scissor when she cut a tree, it too havy and too big and can’t help her cut any bush in straight or in the same hight. After analysis a movement of the tool I fiound that my system can help her improve a cutting skill. This object will improve a cutting skill in the garden and let you fun in your garden.

02

A n u m b r e l l a An umbrella is an interesting object. It got a strong and move in step joint that can reduce its size. A joint is so small but so efficiency. It works in step, effect by one force from our one hand. Amovement step of it is quite interecting so I decied to ues them be my model.

First mock up model that I tried to copy a system of an umbrella. It made from ply wood with easy joint.

A sereis of develop model, cahnge materials and joints.

A movement diagram shows a dynamic when joints of an umbrella is moving.

A movement diagram shows a dynamic of the final joint that used in the project.

A model that shows a movement when the joint was developed.

Description: The fundamental architectural design studio emphasizes on skill of both analysis and synthesis as well as their applications to an architectural design process. Subject to be studied incorporates architectural analysis from case study of its systems and tectonics of architectural design by considering elements in architecture, space, form, programs, site-context, and aesthetic. Furthermore, this course offers the integration of architectural knowledge of technology and environmental design technology in order to enhance student’ rigorous architectural design process. Contents: This first studio design focuses on the invention of ‘architectural space’ from the relationship of body, space, and elements in architecture by considering the systems and tectonics of architectural design (Case Study) as a research (analysis and synthesis). The process is focused on the observation and investigation of human behavior, program, building system, form/space design, environmental/context, and basic principles in architectural design. Furthermore, this course offers increasing student’s abilities by doing research and integrating with the previous experiences obtained from two interrelated projects (Project 1 & 2) during the semester is subjected.

HOUSING

Askew House From super modernt house created by super influence person, Le corbousier, I tried to create a house in Thailand. At first I don’t agree to create a house shape like a modern box style. As we know Thailand is a very hot and humid country. The rainny season and summer is very long so this is why I tried to mix a triangle shape of roof into a mordern style. A double space was used in this project. Multi layer roof for hot humid climate and super triple space with pure concrete of Le corbousier show in this house. The first phase was an analysis stage. Studied in the space of case study and applied into the new space. The secoud phase was the improve idea in the real house.

Then it was auction to Mr.Shodhan till now. The main concept of this house is a parasol roof because a house located in desert that gets a lot of sun light area. Le Corbusier wanted to build the house as a sun light-shield. The structure of this house is blocky mass with brise-soleil, facade in the back of this house.

D i s c o g r a p h y Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, who chose to be known as Le Corbusier (French pronunciation; October 6, 1887 – August 27, 1965), was a Swiss-French architect, designer, urbanist, writer and also painter, who is famous for being one of the pioneers of what now is called Modern architecture or the International style. He was born in Switzerland and became a French citizen in his thirties.

Double spaces make the house more interested in the way of vision and a user felling. House plans designed by the horizontal line and vertical line cross each other. Different shape of the facade and fin designs from the environment. The faced is a solid because it reserve a warm of sun light in a day while the fin as ventilator. Circulation separate between private space and public space.

Course Description: This is the continuation of practice that introduces the integration of materials and construction technology, structure, and the relationships between tectonics, sites and programs into an architectural design. Course Objective: The continuation of practice from AR 215; exploring a practice of design in the more complex conditions that are related to various types of users in natural and/or urban context through the theme of small-scale public building. The study emphasizes on development of thinking and working process incorporated with skills of analysis and synthesis of data collected from a field work. It equally focuses on the intelligent integration of fundamental architectural knowledge that are programmatic, spatial, environmental, structural and material factors including concerns of regulation in order to enhance students’ rigorous design process.

SOIL PAVILION

Fell the Earth

A little public building project talked about a soil pavilion, a learning of soil mini ceter in Bangkok. My concept came from the experiece when I was on trip to KhonKaen, Eastern, Thailand. There, I’ve learn a lot of soil quality. The color, smell, type and texture. The most I interesting thing was a texture of soil type. When the water touch to the soil a texture was changed. Some will soften and blen itself with the water, some left stones and gravel behind and some sand. So I started to find a fact to improve my concept. The soil chart came to help my pavilion. The project start.

Description: Efficiency housing / performative housing: domesticity in a public domain

adj. efficient: doing sth. well and thoroughly with no waste of time, money, or energy. n. efficiency: the quality of doing sth. well and thoroughly with no waste of time, money, or energy. to perform: to work or function well Fact: No. 1 1-a. Usually people in a housing project do not use public space as what architect intended they will. 1-b. People in a condominium and/or housing project tend to pay for a shared facility as less as possible. 1-c. Thus, what an architect dreams for that is creating social space is hardly achieved in a real situation. No. 2 2-a. Thai lifestyles like to collect things and hardly to throw things away, thus huge storage space become fundamentally needed for the thais. 2-b. However, issue concerning storage space is neglected by most of the designer. The challenge of an architect is that could we, as an architect, start from the banal (that is the real life, real situation, real people, and real ways of life), and then construct creatively.

Grape Analysis A grape is a fruiting berry of the deciduous woody vines of the botanical genus Vitis. Grapes can be eaten raw or they can be used for making wine, jam, juice, jelly, grape seed extract, raisins, vinegar, and grape seed oil. Grapes are a non-climacteric type of fruit, generally occurring in clusters.

Many of models show the cluster shape of the grape that may be develop to the space.
