The purpose of this project is to build a house for homeless teenager as a mean of shelters in order for them to survive. Furthermore, the house is designed by considering the common activities and necessities of the teenagers. It could also allow the homeless teenagers to enjoy a better living surroundings.
This house will be located inside the car park on 95 Nappier St, FITZROY VIC 3065, Australia. The car 1 of 1 of 78 metres of length and 31, 2 metres of width. Furthermore, the car 19/03/2008 park has a huge space park10:13 AM is made up of three floors and the ‘house of HOPE’ would be allocated on the uppermost floor which is an open space area.

At first, after i brainstormed ideas for the project, I drew bubble diagrams which is shown in image 1. Next, once a rough idea has been agreed on the bubble diagram, i started to draw some plans of the building design as shown in image 2, 3, and 4.

At one point of my design development, I was unable to proceed as i failed to come up with the best idea. Fortunately, this was solved by making an overlapping intersection of rectangles as shown above. This allows me to find more better ideas for the project development.

These are the pictures of the library in my design. This library would probably be mainly use for the teenagers to study. Although the library looks small, it is well equipped with the necessity learning resources available at hand for the teenagers. Therefore, this will not deprive the homeless teenagers from their education.
The images above show the interior design of the bedrooms. The room is designed with a number of windows, sustainably providing sufficient mean of ventilation. Therefore, it could be considered as ergonomically efficient as sunlights and fresh air have a way through the room.
The open-air garden shown on the left is located right in the middle of the House of HOPE, whereby the bedrooms are enclosing it like a circle. It consists of multiple greeneries such as grasses and trees, and also benches. This could allow great air circulation in and out of the bedrooms. It also could act as an area for the teenagers to do common activities such as sports and games.
The area shown in the pictures is the common room. It consists of the living room, dining room and kitchen. This common room is emphasized with a lot of ventilations. The common room is interconnected to the open-air courtyard and in between these places. In addition, there are a number of transparent glass panel which could allow sunlight to enter during daytime. The height level of the ceilings is also made higher in order for the occupants to feel more spaceous.
This building has 90 degrees pointed edges of all the corners. This building is also designed with an open-air courtyard which allow the teenagers to obtain fresh air and sunlight. The ceiling at certain function room (such as the library, common room,) has a higher level of ceiling. than the bedroom. These rooms are often occupied with more people. Thus, the building of a higher level of ceiling in order to create a more spaceous area would be justified.
The images above show a multi-purpose table design. This table has two levels where the upper section could slide smoothly from one end to the other. The table is mainly made of timber while the black upper deck is made of glass, giving a sense of luxury. In addition, there is a cupboard located just below the lower table. which could act as a mini storage.
