A wonderful group of United States Type coins assembled over a period of 10+ years by a collector Mike worked closely with and whose main objective was quality, luster, originality and eye appeal while not breaking the bank. A seasoned collector mentored by a few of the best known dealer/numismatists along with assistance from a few exceptionally knowledgeable collectors, he chose patience over purchase and the results clearly speak to this smart philosophy. Each coin in the collection boasts wonderful eye appeal along with true to grade technical merits. Having resided in the Philippines for many years on international business, and showing the true collector at heart, he has a complete 1903-1945 US-Philippines territorial set as well which he has elected to keep… for now.

The United States Mint took a four year break after 1797 and began to issue half dollars again in 1801 using Robert Scot’s obverse from 1796-1797 and a new reverse featuring a Heraldic Eagle with olive branch and arrows in hand. Crusty and wholly original with even, honest wear, it offers exceptional eye appeal. Both obverse and reverse exhibit natural toning in shades of pale gold, light blue-green and coin grey.
