I would like to thank the Hong Kong SAR Government which, through the LCSD, is providing a recurrent subvention of HK$18.89 million, representing around 12% of our annual income. This support is also complemented by the Government’s matching grant, which we anticipate will provide the Festival with additional revenue. “Fundraising has always been an important income source of the Festival and the 2024 fundraising target accounts for nearly 48% of our total revenue. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our sponsors and donors, including commercial firms, charitable foundations, as well as individual and institutional donors, for their generous support. I especially want to highlight The Hong Kong Jockey Club, which has provided unwavering support to the Festival for over half a century, beginning in 1973.” Ms Flora Yu, Executive Director of the HKAF, says, “We are pleased to be able to present our 52nd Festival on a large scale after emerging from a three-year pandemic and staging the previous 51st Festival in semirecovery mode. The stellar lineup of the upcoming 52nd HKAF in 2024 includes numerous well-known classical works as well as internationally revered, multiple-award-winning masters and legends. We also make it our mission to introduce to Hong Kong audiences a fascinating line-up of daring and innovative new works which hold the promise of becoming canonical works of tomorrow.
