大部分節目,當中許多節目更開放 予世界各地愛好藝術的觀眾 。

衷心祝賀香港藝術節今年踏入第 49 屆 。這一年一度的藝術盛事在新冠 肺炎疫情的挑戰下,仍然辦得有聲 有色,精采可期。

今年藝術節帶來一連串繽紛多彩的 網 上 及 現 場 節 目, 涵 蓋 音 樂、 歌 劇、戲劇、舞蹈、電影等多個藝術 範疇 。總體來說,藝術節會在「遠 在咫尺」的主題下,呈獻合共約三百 場節目、活動及表演。 藝術節的亮點,包括捷克布爾諾國 家歌劇院及其兩年一度「布爾諾楊 納傑克節」的多場精選數碼版歌劇 及音樂會 。同樣引人注目的,還有 兩部取材自英國劇作家尼爾 .巴奈 特改編劇作《鼠疫》的發人深省作 品,一部為英語版,另一部為粵語 版。粵語版為香港本地製作,英語 版則由身處六個地區的六名演員作 網上實時演出。來自蘇格蘭鄉村的 魔術師史葛.蕭凡亦會在網上實時 演出,他的互動作品《心靈旅程》每 場只限三十位觀眾參與 。此外,亦 有十六部慶祝香港賽馬會當代舞蹈 平台十周年的製作,包括與中國內 地及英國藝術家合力創作的作品 。 在藝術節開幕演出中,香港中樂團 會進行兩首曲目的世界首演,而廣 獲讚譽的莫斯科莫伊謝耶夫舞團, 則會為這國際藝壇盛會作閉幕演出。 我很高興市民可於登記後免費觀賞

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the Hong Kong Arts Festival on the staging of its 49th annual celebration of the arts, and doing so in splendid fashion despite the daunting challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s Festival features a cheering range of online and in-venue programmes showcasing music, opera, theatre, dance, film and more. In all, the Festival presents some 300 events, activities and performances under the theme “Separate Together”. Festival highlights include a dazzling digital selection of operas and concerts from the Czech Republic’s National Theatre Brno and its biennial Janá ek Brno Festival. Equally notable are two piercing productions of British playwright Neil Bartlett’s adaptation of The Plague, one in English, the other in Cantonese. The Cantonese version is produced in Hong Kong, while the English version is a live

online performance starring six actors in six time zones. Illusionist Scott Silven also performs online and live, from rural Scotland. His interactive production, The Journey, is limited to 30 participants per show. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series celebrates its 10th anniversary with 16 productions, including collaborations with artists from the Chinese mainland and the United Kingdom. The Festival opens with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra performing two world premieres and concludes its international slate with the acclaimed Igor Moiseyev Ballet from Moscow. I find it particularly gratifying to note that the vast majority of events are available free of charge, upon registration, with many of them open to arts lovers from all over the world. The Arts Festival’s promotion of arts education in schools continues. And PLUS programmes bring together audiences and artists through behindthe-scenes videos, artist dialogues and pre- and post-performance talks. For all that, and much more, I am grateful to the inspired diligence and dedication of the Hong Kong Arts Festival team. My thanks, too, to the sponsors and donors for their generous support of the arts and culture, particularly in these trying times. I wish you all an enjoyable and memorable Hong Kong Arts Festival.

The Hong Kong Arts Festival (HKAF) is a major international arts festival committed to enriching the cultural life of the city by presenting leading local and international artists in all genres of the performing arts in February and March each year. Since its launch in 1973, the HKAF has presented top international artists and ensembles across multiple genres—from music, opera, Chinese opera and ballet to break dance and experimental theatre. International guests have included major state operas, established theatres, top orchestras and stars of the day. We also frequently partner with renowned international artists and institutions to produce exceptional new works. We have also collaborated with Hong Kong’s own creative talent to produce work which is now part of the local canon and to showcase emerging local artists. Over the years, the HKAF has commissioned and produced over 200 local productions across genres including theatre, chamber opera, music and contemporary dance—many with successful subsequent performances in Hong Kong and overseas. As part of our enduring commitment to enriching the cultural life of the city, we organise a diverse range of Festival PLUS activities for the community before and during the Festival to enhance engagement between artists and audiences. These include film screenings, masterclasses, exhibitions,

meet-the-artist sessions and guided backstage and cultural tours. Beyond the main Festival, the HKAF also promotes inclusivity and understanding through the arts. Its “No Limits” project, co-presented with The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, strives to create an inclusive space for people with different abilities to share the joy of the arts together. To nurture the next generation of artists and audiences, the HKAF also invests heavily in yearround arts education for young people. Over the past 29 years, our “Young Friends” scheme has reached over 782,000 local secondary and tertiary school students; members can enjoy showcases, pre-performance talks, open rehearsals, Festival performances and in-school workshops led by international and local artists. Donations to the Student Ticket Scheme also make approximately 10,000 half-price student tickets available each year. The HKAF is a non-profit organisation. Its principal income sources are: recurrent funding from the government, box office revenues, and sponsorship and donations made by corporations, individuals and charitable foundations which form a significant portion of total income and also enables the HKAF to receive support from the Government’s matching scheme that matches income generated through private sector sponsorship and donations.

踏入千禧 坐看舞起時

踏入千禧年之後的香港舞壇,經歷過回歸的亢奮,之後的 十年,卻似乎平平淡淡的過去了 。

藝術可以平淡致遠,但藝術圈不能平淡,標新立異的當代 舞圈更加不能 。

創造舞蹈平台的想法,自 2010 年開始——建立一個健康的專

業舞蹈生態圈,讓本地獨立年青編舞及舞者能夠持續發表 新作品及演出,配合藝術節的推廣以至教育外展等培育年 青觀眾的活動,在沉寂的舞壇裏醞釀起一股舞蹈風暴 。

這 個 設 想, 有 幸 得 到 香 港 賽 馬 會 慈 善 信 託 基 金 的 全 力 贊 助,於 2012 年迎來了第一屆平台 。

2021 年,這個平台走過了十年光陰,舞出了一個時代 。

是時候做一個小小的總結了,不是為了懷緬,是為了溫故 知新,繼往開來 。

After the fervour surrounding the reunification, the Hong Kong dance scene went through a rather calm and uneventful decade as it entered the new millennium. Art itself can be placid and mild, but the artistic environment should not be, least of all the contemporary dance scene, which thrives on innovation and experiment. The idea of creating a contemporary dance series began in 2010, to establish a vibrant professional dance ecosystem that would allow young local independent choreographers and dancers to continually present new works and performances. The goal was to create a producing platform integrated with promotion and educational outreach activities to cultivate young audiences, so as to re-energise the local dance scene.

This ambitious vision was fortunate to receive the full funding support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charitable Trust Fund, without which CDS would not have existed for 10 years since 2012. After dancing through a decade in 2021, the series is a key player in the development of contemporary dance. It is time to take a look back at how the series has contributed to a fertile environment for dance in the city. To commemorate is not to bury the past, but to review the present so a new future might be reinvented.

Launched at the 40th Hong Kong Arts Festival in 2012, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series (CDS) is a comprehensive art project that encompasses curation, artistic creation, presentation, production, audience building and contemporary dance education. The CDS commissions young dancers to create independent choreographic works, and it discovers potential artists and provides professional art administration and technical production support, which gives choreographers an opportunity to experiment with their creativity. The dance series also helps independent artists to meet their creative needs within the limitations of the local arts environment by matching choreographers and dancers with composers and costume, set and lighting designers to broaden the creative spectrum of contemporary dance in Hong Kong.

育於香港 面向國際 From Local to Global 平台鼓勵獨立編舞及舞者與國際藝術家互相切磋與交

流,刺激創作思維與製作模式,過去曾合作單位包括 意大利編舞沙朗尼、北京青年舞蹈家平台的謝欣、李 超、楊暢、張翼翔、常肖妮及鞏中輝、比利時聲音藝

術家彼得 .萊納、英國編舞迪克森 .姆比、約斯 . 貝克及創作指導田戈兵等 。十周年系列演出中,部分

與海外藝術家聯手創作的作品將再次登上藝術節的舞 台,在經歷演化後展現更成熟的面貌 。

另一方面,曾於平台發表的作品亦屢次走出香港,進 行海外巡演或獲邀參與國際舞蹈節,將孕育於香港的

創意及視野放於國際舞台上 。過往曾參與的重點國際 舞蹈節包括:蘇格蘭愛丁堡藝穗節、美國三藩市國際 藝術節及芬蘭滿月舞蹈節等 。

The CDS encourages collaboration between local and overseas artists to stimulate creative thinking and new production models. Past collaborators include Italian choreographer Alessandro Sciarroni; mainland choreographers from Young Artists Platform of Dance (Beijing), including Xie Xin, Li Chao, Yang Chang, Zhang Yixiang, Gong Zhonghui and Chang Xiaoni and dramaturg Tian Gebing; as well as British dancers Dickson Mbi and Jos Baker, and Belgian sound artist Peter Lenaerts. The tenth anniversary programmes feature some returning works that involve collaborative efforts with overseas artists, which have evolved into more mature pieces since their initial productions. There are also works premiered in the series that have had the opportunity to tour overseas or appear at international dance festivals; these creative visions nurtured in Hong Kong have shone on the international stage. Major international dance festivals that have been graced by CDS alumni include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Scotland), the San Francisco Festival (USA) and the Full Moon Festival (Finland), among others.

積極推廣當代舞 Promotion of Contemporary Dance 在劇場演出之外,藝術節的外展團隊每年精心策劃教 育計劃,讓本地中學生以輕鬆互動的方式認識及體驗

當代舞,令學生於劇場觀賞演出時,更能保持開放態 度,並在演後座談與編舞討論以及分享感受 。例如

平台十周年的巡迴表演便以戲劇串連三位舞者自身的

故事,配合精采的當代舞演出,讓同學可以由舞者的 角度了解當代舞對他們的意義,並將重點內容以展覽

形式展出 。過往教育計劃的活動還包括:當代舞工作 坊、公開彩排、演前導賞講座、演出及藝人談等 。

In addition to theatre performances, the HKAF team curates a CDS educational outreach programme every year. Led by professional dance teachers and delivered in a relaxed interactive environment, the programme gives students in Hong Kong secondary schools the chance to immerse themselves in the power of contemporary dance. This prepares students to approach performances with open minds, after which they will also have a chance to chat to the choreographers and reflect on their experiences at post-performance talks. For instance, the tenth anniversary programmes feature a performance tour which infuses dance, drama and personal stories of three contemporary dancers to explore the meaning of contemporary dance with participants. Key points of the tours are summarised for students on educational display panels. Previous events have included school exhibitions, guided talks, workshops, open rehearsals and official performances, as well as preand post-performance guided appreciation sessions.

《 It’s Not My Body 》來到第三部,在這個「不想跳舞」、很容 易會吞噬了自己的階段,我的領會是:其實跳舞就是無時 無刻都需要修飾,要靚,這是跳舞最精采的地方,但某程 度上亦是令人覺得不真實、作狀、感到煩厭的地方 。 所以很努力地不叫自己作 Dancer。

也希望觀眾看完這東西,不會感到跳舞在這個艱難混亂動 盪的年代,會好像自己所想的那樣,是一些沒甚麼用處, 沒甚麼意義的東西,那就已足夠了 。

Starting the third chapter of It’s Not My Body, I have become anti-dancing and prone to self-absorption. This stage has taught me one thing: dancing actually needs to be embellished and beautiful all the way—its most fascinating, yet somehow artificial, pretentious and annoying, attribute. For this reason, I try hard not to call myself a dancer. Hopefully, this show will not make the audience share my feeling, that dancing is useless and meaningless in this difficult, chaotic era. This would be good enough for me.

很多經歷和感受都難以言述,只會累積在身體裡頭 。尤其 這兩年間大家所經歷的 。身體是一個很豐富的載體,我們 一直在找出口,至少,身體可以是自己的出口嗎 ?

作為編舞及創作人,想跟過往合作過的同行者們再連繫 。 在這當下,無論舞蹈界或者生活上也困難重重,應如何安 放自己,如何以身體找一個出口 ?

Imagine my body is an exit. Many experiences and emotions—especially those we have been through these past two years—are unspeakable and thus will end up accumulating in the body. As a vibrant vehicle, can the body become our long sought-after exit? Being a choreographer and creator, I want to reconnect with my previous collaborators. Still, given that both life and the dance sector are stuck nowadays, how can I find my feet and make a way out with my body?

參加了香港藝術節的香港賽馬會當代舞蹈平台兩次,適逢今年十週 年,又再榮幸受邀參與,非常感謝 。 過去兩次的創作,都提供了空間讓我集中思考及創作,令我能夠在忙 碌的日子梳理及沉思,找到自己的創作神經。我相信一切自有安排, 這次的創作亦不例外 。

今次邀請了過去曾參與平台的伍仲偉及丘頌偉,另外加入 TS Crew 的 杜志星及鄭子焬,每位都身懷絕技,各有所長。編舞將舞台反轉成 擂台,在台上面對真實的暴力,最後是勢均力敵,還是汰弱留強, 變成圍毆弱者 ? 無論如何,一定很暴力;可能和你屋企或者辦公室 差不多。

I am honoured and grateful to be invited by the Hong Kong Arts Festival to join the Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series for the third time, on its 10th anniversary. In my previous two collaborations, I was afforded space to think and create without distractions. That allowed me to find my creative antennae by organising thoughts and contemplating amid the hustle and bustle. I believe everything is destined and my creation in this edition is no exception. This time I have invited Steve Ng and Yau Chung-wai, both past participants in this dance event, as well as To Chi-sing and Cheng Tszyeung from TS Crew. Each of them is gifted and possesses distinct strengths. As choreography turns the stage into a ring, the performers come face-to-face with real violence. In the end, will the outcome be a dead heat or a siege and elimination of the weak? Turning 30, an age at which to establish oneself, we move from youth to maturity. Our experiences might have grown, and so might our limitations; and our characters might have grown, but so might our compromises with society. We start to possess things, but worry too much about losing them. We dread that our relentlessness might ruin past achievements, but paradoxically, we want to break rules. Progressing in spite of dilemmas, we endeavour to maintain this delicate balance. 今次一反我的創作習慣,想以對話開展,誠邀了曾參與 2007 年香 港藝術節《我的舞蹈生涯——進化論」其中六位舞蹈前輩訪談, 以語言穿梭回憶、現在與未來,分享著舞蹈生涯的點滴 。攜帶着 當年的印象和對談感受,進入排練階段,思考着這個時代的我們 是如何看舞的呢 ? 我們是因為甚麼而舞呢 ? 未來跳舞的人會是怎 樣的呢 ?

Exceptionally, this time I prefer to start my creation with dialogue. I invited six senior dance practitioners, who joined the HKAF’s My Life as a Dancer—the Evolution in 2007, to my interview. Our words led us on a journey through the past, present and future, as the stories of our dance careers unfolded. Accompanied by our memories and feelings aroused in the dialogues, we started rehearsing. We rethought our views of dance in this era, the reasons to dance and what dancers might be like in the future. I would like to thank Abby Chan, Mui Cheuk-yin, Yuri Ng, Ong Yonglock, Yeung Wai-mei and Jacky Yu, who have given me feedback and support. When I was still a dance school student, they propelled me into a dance career. I would also like to express my gratitude to Liesel Zink, for her dramaturgy and support for my creation. 茫茫人海中,你看見了我在浮沉,在地球上的某處掙扎着 。 浸淫在藍色多瑙河*中,除了吃雪糕,不要忘記獨立思考 。 * 註: 《藍色多瑙河》全曲長度剛好為十分鐘,在香港高級程度會考英語運用科的聆聽考試 中,這首曲是最終答案整理時間的背景音樂 。

Feet on the floor, my mind goes blank. Feet off the ground, hustle and bustle goes on in the city. Among a giant crowd of strangers, you saw me sink and emerge, and struggle somewhere in the world. Immerse yourself in the enchanting Blue Danube*, and make sure to get a taste of critical thinking along with your ice cream.** * The Blue Danube is exactly 10 minutes long. The piece will be familiar to anyone who took the now-defunct Use of English Listening Test at the old Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination, as it was played towards the end of the exam to give candidates time to finalise their answers. ** The Blue Danube is also familiar to generations of Hongkongers from its use by Mister Softee ice cream vans throughout the city.

他 與 李 思 颺 合 創 的《 Galatea and Pygmalion 》及《 Galatea X 》 分 別 於 2011 年 及 2014 年 獲 得 香港舞蹈年獎最值得表揚獨立 舞蹈製作獎及最值得表揚編舞 獎 。他於 2012 年 IDO 踢躂舞世 界錦標賽中獲得男子獨舞第三 名;2015 年獲香港藝術發展獎 藝術新秀獎 。

Wong Tan-ki is a freelance dancer, teacher, choreographer and multimedia designer. He is the co-founder of Neo Dance HK and was a guest performer at the Ballett Bremerhaven (Germany) in 2019. His works Galatea & Pygmalion and Galatea X, co-choreographed with Justyne Li, earned him the Hong Kong Dance Award for Outstanding Achievement in Independent Production (2011) and Outstanding Choreography (2014). He was also the third winner among the solo males in the 2012 IDO World Tap Dance Championships and the recipient of the Hong Kong Arts Development Award for Young Artist in 2015. His recent choreographies include Galatea X, CCDC’s The 3.5 th Dimension, Hong Kong Dance Festival’s Galatea & Pygmalion, the HKAF’s Journey of Sound, and Soul Casting and It’s Not My Body (co-choreographed with Justyne Li), among others. His filmmaking and multimedia design works include Come Rain or Sunshine at Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival 2019, Xing Liang’s Six Degrees at CCDC, Breeze Across Us’s Farewell, and Hong Kong Dance Federation’s As Time Goes By, among others.

Justyne Li graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts’ (HKAPA) School of Dance, studying ballet and contemporary dance. She is a former member of the Hong Kong Ballet and Tanz Graz in Austria, and was a soloist with Ballett Bremerhaven in Germany.

Choreographer Profiles

She is a co-founder of Neo Dance HK and currently works as an independent dancer and choreographer. Li’s recent choreographies/ projects include Dancing in the Moment’s Division in 2017, It’s Not My Body, Hong Kong Sinfonietta’s Transfigured Night, West Kowloon Cultural District’s residency programme Creative Meeting Point: Hong Kong x Finland, the Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival’s Come Rain or Shine (2019) and Hong Kong Dance Exchange’s The Shift (2020), among others. She won second prize at the 4th Hong Kong International Choreography for her performance in The Shift. Her work Galatea X earned her the 2014 Hong Kong Dance Award for Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Performance by a Female Dancer. Li’s performance in Galatea & Pygmalion earned the 2011 Hong Kong Dance Award for Outstanding Achievement in Independent Dance and a nomination for Outstanding Performance. She was awarded the Best Performance Award at the 2020 Portugal InShadow Festival for Come Rain or Shine, and first prize at the 7th Jerusalem International Choreography Competition for Division.

Victor Fung is an award-winning choreographer based in London and Hong Kong. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of Victor Fung Dance. He has been praised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) as “a choreographer with real talent”. Fung is currently Associate Artist at Swindon Dance and recipient of the DanceXchange Choreography Award. He received the Award for Young Artist at the 2013 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards for his international achievements in dance. Fung’s choreographic works have been presented internationally across four continents. His work From the Top has been presented in Hong Kong, South Korea, New Zealand, Germany, the UK and the USA. He was selected as one of the six choreographers for SPAZIO, a European network for dance creation. His full-evening performance Not Enough (Beyond Reason) was shortlisted for Outstanding Independent Dance at the 2012 Hong Kong

Dance Awards. Victor Fung has been funded and commissioned internationally by organisations such as Arts Council England, HKAF, CCDC, HKADC, HKAPA and Junior Dance Company (Italy), among others. In 2017, he was supported by the British Council as part of the UK BAME artist delegation at IETM Brussels. Aside from choreographing, Fung is highly involved in the dance and cultural sector in his various roles. He is currently conducting doctoral research in dance with a studentship award from Middlesex University and Dance4. He was a Clore Fellow 16/17 of the Clore Leadership Fellowship Programme under the mentorship of Wayne McGregor and a Shadow Trustee of Hofesh Shechter Company.

Chloe Wong holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in contemporary dance from the HKAPA and an MA in Dance from Hollins University, Virginia. She is currently the Subject Coordinator of Performing Arts (MMPA) at the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity.

Wong’s recent works include Maybe Tomorrow, a touring performance in Hong Kong supported by Jockey Club New Arts Power; her site-specific creation Light Flight the Night, nominated for Outstanding Sitespecific Performance at the Hong Kong Dance Awards; Heaven Behind the Door II, selected for the City Contemporary Dance Festival in Hong Kong, Prague Quadrennial – PQ Studio Festival, Busan International Dance Market in South Korea and the Internationale Tanzmesse in Dusseldorf, Germany. Wong’s creations investigate human relationships, the sensation of the physical body and the locales of each work. Wayson Poon is a contemporary dance artist from Hong Kong. He lived in Beijing from 2010 to 2014, during which time he established his dance company The Body Acts. In 2014, he worked as an independent artist in the fields of creation, performance, research and development and education across various locations in Europe and Asia. His works observe contemporary society from the perspective of Asian philosophy, and aim at inspiring viewers through dance and crossmedia art. Guided by “Qi” from Taoist scriptures and the concepts of Liquid Body and Five Rhythms, Poon’s movement and creations have combined oriental spirit and western methodology, deciphering the essence of body from different aspects. His notable works include Fleeing by Night; in,visible(cities); and Vortex, among others. His works have been staged in international arts festivals, such as the Beijing Dance Festival, HKAF, the Supercell Festival of Contemporary Dance in Brisbane, and the Full Moon Dance Festival in Finland. Poon won the Hong Kong Arts Development Award for Young Artist (Dance) in 2016 and was nominated for the Tom Brown Emerging Choreographer Award at the Hong Kong Dance Awards 2018. He is a recipient of the Asian Cultural Association 2019 Fellowship.

Hugh Cho graduated from the HKAPA, majoring in Contemporary Dance. He is the co-founder of TS Studio, and also the artistic director of TS Crew Dance Company. With his unique training background in street dance, capoeira and Cantonese opera martial arts, he creates his own style of choreography.

at Indonesia’s International Performing Arts & Movie Awards in 2018. His solo work Along, premiered at the HKAF, was inspired by Bruce Lee’s martial art philosophy. Cho later developed the piece into an ensemble dance at Hong Kong Dance Exchange 2018, which he was invited to perform in Singapore, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Beijing, London, Poland, Edinburgh and elsewhere. He was given the Emerging Choreographer Award at the Hong Kong Dance Awards in 2018 and the HKADC’s Award for Young Artist (Dance) in 2020.

From 2008 to 2010, Cho performed for New Zealand dance company Raewyn and Dancers. Upon his return to Hong Kong in 2010, he joined Unlock Dancing Plaza as artist in residence, where he remained until 2014. His first full-length work, Made in Hong Kong toured to numerous Asian cities in 2014; he was also part of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council tour to perform at the Internationale Tanzmesse in Germany in 2016. Cho choreographed and performed in the short film Oh! Million Fist! The film was later screened in France, New York, Chile, China, Slovakia, and was given a Special Mention Award 51

黃 翠 絲 生 於 澳 門,2013 年 以 一級榮譽學士畢業於香港演藝 學 院, 主 修 現 代 舞 表 演 和 編 舞,在校獲得最傑出女舞蹈演 員獎、舞蹈學院院長獎及多項 獎學金 。

她近年主要與編舞及舞者毛維 合 作, 兩 人 成 立 MW 舞 蹈 劇 場 。作品《賞味期限》於 2014 首演,並於亞洲各地重演及巡 演 。2016 年獲邀赴比利時與當 地 裝 置 藝 術 家 共 同 創 作《 Les Curieuses Franges 》, 2017 年 於香港重演,並於次年發展成 長篇作品《洞穴爆發 .奇異毛 球》。 除 了 創 作, 兩 人 亦 經 常 被邀請於舞團和舞蹈節授課 。

Tracy Wong was born in Macau and graduated from the HKAPA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (First-class Honours) in 2013, majoring in Contemporary Dance and Choreography. During her studies, she was the recipient of The Margaret Zee Outstanding Performer Award, Dean of Dance Prize and more. In recent years, she has predominantly collaborated with Mao Wei, a choreographer and dancer, with whom she cofounded MW Dance Theatre. Their full-length production Shelf Life premiered in 2014, touring across Asian countries. In 2014, Wong was invited to create Les Curieuses Franges with a local installation artist in Belgium. The work was rerun in Hong Kong in 2017 and developed into a fulllength piece Les Curious Fringes, Blast of the Cave the following year. Wong and Mao also give lessons at dance groups and festivals. She has been invited to present her commissions and performances for the HKAF four times, including for her solo work Sous Vide, and two collaborations with Mao. She has also been invited to tour at Hong Kong Dance Exchange, Seoul NDA International Dance Festival and Fukuoka Fringe Festival.

Mao Wei is the holder of a full scholarship from the HKAPA. He has predominantly collaborated with choreographer and dancer Tracy Wong, with whom he cofounded MW Dance Theatre and of which he is artistic director. In recent years, he has focused on exploring creation and the human body to construct a unique style. His recent works, including Pardon, Mapping, Shelf Life, and more, have played at arts festival around the world. His international collaborations include Les Curious Fringes, Blast of the Cave and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Contemporary Dance Series’ Will you still love me tomorrow? (Hong Kong Remix) and Put out the Flame. He has also been invited to join the West Kowloon Cultural District’s three-year cultural exchange programme in Spain.

Ivy Tsui received an Award for Young Artist (Dance) at the 2015 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards. Her choreographic works include the Hong Kong Arts Festival and Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department commissions Water Lilies, Morning Glory, Dehydrated Flower, Frangipani, a floral series about the energy of life. In 2018, Tsui’s biographical piece QuanQuan (2012), which she has performed in Estonia, Sweden and Canada, was recognised as Pick of the Fringe at the Stockholm Fringe Awards. In the same year, her durational happening Used to Mud (2017) was presented at the Southbank Centre, London as part of the China Changing Festival. In addition to taking part in Creative Meeting Point on the invitation of the West Kowloon Cultural District, Tsui has also taken part in a number of exchange programmes and research laboratories. Ivy Tsui believes that everyone has an innate ability to dance. By embracing the beauty of diversity and sharing stories in everyday settings, she aspires to use movement and dance to explore life and connect with the community.

她 2019 年 於 香 港 藝 術 節 編 創《實 驗 性 關 係》, 其 後 於 2020 年 橫 濱 舞 蹈 節 演 出, 同年於橫濱表演藝術交流 會( TPAM )及 京 都 藝 術 空 間 UrBANGUILD 巡演 。

Blue Ka-wing, an independent dance artist in Hong Kong, started her dance training at the age of 16. In 2010, she graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Contemporary Dance and Choreography. Her works include The Neighbour, The Left Hander, My Daddy, My Flying Car and Time Lag. Nominated for Outstanding Choreography at the Hong Kong Dance Awards in 2017, Time Lag was premiered at the 44th HKAF and was later invited to tour in Japan and South Korea. She choreographed Experimental Relationships at the HKAF in 2019, which later toured to the Yokohama Dance Collection 2020, Performing Arts Meeting in Yokohama and UrBANGUILD Kyoto. Besides performing arts, Blue Ka-wing also makes dance films, including God Limps and 9. These works have won her several awards and she was invited to screen her films in Berlin, Brussels, Madrid, Parma, Nicosia, Amsterdam and Hong Kong. In 2020, she was commissioned by Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival to produce a dance film Mountains, Seas, Panorama.

Alice Ma graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the HKAPA (Honours), majoring in contemporary dance and choreography. She was awarded several scholarships during her studies. In 2007, she was selected to work on Forsythe’s Project, which was conducted by the world-renowned William Forsythe Dance Company. In 2012, she received a scholarship from the American Dance Festival for artistic exchange in Henan, and premiered her work Base-Line II. Organisations and artists she has collaborated with include the Hong Kong Arts Festival, Hong Kong Dance Company, ReNew Vision, the West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, Hong Kong Dance Alliance, Musica Viva and Music Lab. She has also performed at arts festivals in the United States, the Netherlands, Italy, Taiwan and South Korea. Her recent choreography credits include Wu, Over-master, Soulless, WuDaoQingNian 2015 and Upstairs Downstairs, Town Musicians and more. In 2019, Wu was selected as part of the Seoul NDA International Festival’s programme. In 2020,

Vincent Ip

葉雲生自 2009 年起擔任攝影總 監,作品涵蓋短片、紀錄片、 音樂錄像、藝術影片和廣告 。 他的短片《燈火》在 2018 年獲 第 12 屆鮮浪潮最佳攝影獎 。

他畢業於香港城市大學創意媒 體 學 院, 其 後 開 始 在 香 港 及 海外從事電影及廣告創作;同 時創作自己的短片系列和拍攝 劇 照 。 他 對 攝 影、 錄 像 藝 術 和 裝 置 藝 術 深 感 興 趣, 他 現 居香港 。

Vincent Ip works as Director of photography for variety of moving images since 2009, short films, documentaries, music video, art videos and commercials. Vincent won “The Best Cinematography of 12th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival in 2018 for his work Goodbye. Since he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media of the City University of Hong Kong, he starts working in film industry and commercial in Hong Kong as well as oversea; while he is working on his own short film series and stills. He is interested in photography, as well as both video and installation art. He is currently based in Hong Kong.

黃漢樑畢業於香港中文大學, 2011 年 與 友 人 成 立 青 年 實 驗 藝 術 團 體「她 說 創 作 單 位」, 並擔任創作總監一職 。團體至 今製作超過二十部作品,並於 世界各地表演及交流,包括蘇 格 蘭、 澳 門、 京 都、 福 岡 及 北京 。 他同時亦以獨立創作人的身分 參與不同類型創作,包括城市 當代舞蹈團《香港舞蹈口述歷 史》(擔任影像導演)及《小王 子》(京 都 舞 蹈 及 舞 蹈 錄 像 交 流計劃)。

此外,他亦涉足錄像多媒體創 作,銳意研究互動多媒體與劇 場結合的美學 。作品包括香港 舞 蹈 團《塵 埃 落 定》、《境》; 前 進 進 戲 劇 工 作 坊《 21 世 紀 愛 人 網 絡》、《後 殖 民 食 物 與 愛 情》 及 一 條 褲 製 作《十 一 騷動》。

He has involved in different works as an independent creator, including CCDC’s An Oral History of Hong Kong Dance (as video director) and Kyoto x Hong Kong Exchange Programme’s Little Prince. Wong has also been involved in multimedia video creation and is devoted to exploring the aesthetics of interactive multimedia-theatre works. His works include Hong Kong Dance Company’s Red Poppies and Jing; On & On Theatre Workshop’s Love and Information, Postcolonial affairs of food and the heart; Pants Theatre Production’s Sketches of 1967 B. His dance videos God Limps and 9 were selected and awarded by several international film festivals. He was commissioned to direct Mountains, Seas, Panorama for Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival in 2020.

近年,他憑兩個舞蹈短片作品 《 God Limps 》和《 9 》獲多個 國際舞蹈電影節邀請,成為入 選電影,並在當中獲得數個獎 項 。他於 2020 年獲「跳格國際 舞蹈影像節」委約執導舞蹈電 影《山海流》。

Wilfred Wong graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He formed an experimental art group HerStory Polygon with friends in 2011 and he was the creative director. Since then, he has produced more than 20 works and these works have been performed and 59

Martin Lai is a graduate of the HKAPA, majoring in Sound Design and Music Recording. He was the recipient of a Jackie Chan scholarship during his studies. Lai worked for RTHK as a sound engineer after graduating. He was awarded Best Sound Design by the 25th Hong Kong Federation of Drama Society for The Revenge of Local Heroes. He also won Best Editing (Craft and Technique) at New York Festivals TV & Film Awards for the RTHK sound radio drama The Curse. His composer and sound designer credits include Chung Ying Theatre Company’s Go Go Ghost, Hong Kong Repertory Theatre’s Journey with Mr Aw and Wedraman’s Iron. Other sound designs include 7A Class Drama Group’s The Chalk Circle in China, Theatre Noir’s Miss Rose–Romantic Musical, W Theatre’s Little Hong Kong and Alice Theatre Laboratory’s Offending the Audience. Lai is the music director of Loft Stage’s 5 Is Such a Lonely Number. He was also involved in the scoring of the Hong Kong film Distinction in 2018.

Lai founded the Marsical Label in 2005. He is currently a parttime lecturer at the HKAPA and a member of the Composer and Authors Society of Hong Kong. 劉細優

Jason Ma is a freelance theatre practitioner. He took part in the City Contemporary Dance Company’s WuDaoQingNian scheme numerous times from 2003 to 2008, which involved cultural exchange performances in Thailand and Guangzhou.
