Haydn, in the 18th century, established the Classical forms. Two centuries later, Stravinsky brought forth new musical styles (including neo-classicism) that influence generations of composers and musicians. With a background in Chinese, western, jazz and pop music, Hong Kong's very own multi-talented Ng Cheuk-yin composes unique works that fuse different styles and musical elements. His new double sheng concerto, with Loo Sze-wang and himself on sheng, will surely bring fresh air to the concert hall. Germany’s quickest-rising star cellist Valentin Radutiu joins Hong Kong Sinfonietta in this special concert celebrating the old and the new.

全能作曲家伍卓賢破天荒為兩支笙及樂團創作協奏曲，並聯同著名笙演奏家盧思泓共同 演繹，是繼他為香港小交響樂團而寫的《飛》(2007香港藝術節) 及《白》(2004法國聖里 奇音樂節及漢斯夏季音樂節) 之後，令人密切期待的管弦樂作品。此外，歐洲極速冒起的 大提琴新星賴杜堤奧亦會作香港首演，加上兩首史達拉汶斯基「新古典主義」作品， 香港小交響樂團又一融合東西、經典與人氣組合的音樂會。
