SCALE MOVEMENT AND CONTEXT:
Initial analysis of Newhouse 1 on Syracuse University campus helped to develop a knowledge and understanding of scale, movement, and context. Preceding this study, I took the verb explored in Exercise 1 and began to take these new aspects into account while creating my design.

LEARNING HOW TO LEARN FROM ARCHITECTURE: Through thorough research and analysis of the Saint Ange Residency in Sessions, France, I and a partner determined that the building may go through a series of formal operations due to the path of the sun and how it relates to program.

DESIGN AS SYNTHESIS: Initial research of Carrie Mae Weems and the photography/film artform developed in the design of a residence that could accomadate for the photography artform. Various factors such as concept, circulation, program, and views are carefully considered. This specific residence especially focuses on the revealing and concealing of private space to a visiting public, much like the aspects of the artwork by Carrie Mae Weems.
