GEOMETRIC LOGIC Taking gothic windows as a model, the geometric logic behind a window is extracted through a variety of construction lines and geometries. The final design can then be reavealed through the elimination and selection of linework. By Utilizing and analyzing both the geometric logic and the stripped down product, new designs and observances can be made.

VARIATION & MUTATION Using the same techniques to derive a geometric logic, the geometries and construction lines are developed for a composite column in 2D which is then translated into 3 dimensions. by taking segments of this deveopled line work, operations through Rhino commands including “Loft”, “Boolean”, and “Sweep” recreate 2D figures into 3D variations and mutations of the original form. Digital fabrication techniques are also utilized to bring the digitally modelled creations into actuality.

3D FIELDS Using Roof and Dormer typologies, a 3D field is developed following a theme of “control to chaos. By Intersecting the original field with itself and performing various edits, the field is transformed into something more alien than the initial design. Devolping a 2D grid and applying it 3 dimensionally to the initial field’s form, a variety of interpretations are made. Zooming in further and microarticulating the 3D field allows for an additioinal set of information to reveal itself.
