About the Delta Education and Charitable Foundation The Delta Education and Charitable Foundation (DECF) was established as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization in 1992. Through this charitable branch the Foundation and its members have developed a proud history of providing needed services to the Houston community that includes the following programs and projects: literacy programs, cultural enrichment, physical and mental health programs, math and science enrichment programs for young girls, teen outreach program to educate area youth on the issues associated with teen pregnancy, AIDS awareness and prevention. As a Foundation, DECF has supported hundreds of young men and women in this community through merit- and need- based scholarships, totaling nearly $1,000,000. About the Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter The Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter (HMAC) was charted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in October of 1974. Since its inception, HMAC has been actively involved in supporting national and local service agencies, all while sponsoring and presenting community workshops, awareness forums and health fairs. HMAC members and partners have provided over $700,000 in scholarships, directly benefitting the youth of the Greater Houston area.
