Siam Design Industry (SDI) had its humble beginnings in the year 2000, when after 17 years in the furniture making industry, Siam Design Furnishing responded to the demands of its growing list of clients by expanding its operations to offer design and fitting out services. To better reflect the broader services it offered, Siam Design Furnishing changed its name to become SDI. SDI quickly established itself as a leader in providing full-service interior design with its high standards and extensive skill set. Today, SDI has an all-embracing portfolio covering hotels, resorts, serviced apartments, corporate offices, private residences and commercial spaces. Types of services that the company provides include concept and detail design of interiors and new furniture, furniture manufacture, interior fit outs and refurbishing. Creativity, technical expertise, excellence in execution and punctuality are the key attributes to SDI’s continued success. Each project is assigned a team of highly trained technicians who participate in projects from inception to
completion. This holistic approach fosters team owner ship of projects thus ensuring completion to the highest of standards. Our factory is constantly updated with the latest technology to meet our stringent standards. The well-equipped factory enables SDI to design and manufacture custom designed furniture and soft furnishings in-house. This also eliminates the need to outsource parts of the assignments thereby keeping costs down for our clients. The final touches to a project are the most crucial in determining success and creating a lasting impression. It is for this reason that our finishing department is our greatest asset. From the initial concept to the sewing of the last stitch, our technicians cover every single facet to ensure nothing but the best. Quality is paramount. For interiors of supreme quality and the finest craftsmanship, SDI is unrivalled in Thailand.
I remember when we first started our interior design business and first started construction. The first thing we did was create our logo and business cards within the same night that I decided to quit my previous job. With love, SDI was created. I started with only 1 team member, with a total workforce of around 12-15 people. From that time until now, 13 years later, SDI has gone through numerous challenges and changes that we have worked through together. Through our close ties and cooperation with each other, we faced our first job: to design a cupboard to be placed in our customer’s house. Although it was a relatively simple job, it was challenging to those without experience, and we were proud to have finished it successfully. I believe in effort and determination in our work. An obstacle is not something to fear, but a test of our determination that we can overcome. At the same time, obstacles are great teachers, giving us lessons on how to approach a problem without stumbling or running away. Obstacles have become our friends. I do not believe in taking shortcuts. There is nothing that will easily give you success. Rather, every success is built upon our determination, effort, our strong knowledge base, and our capability to do what is right. In our business, we push everyone to the limit and base our actions on reason and logic. When we want to see great results, we carefully analyze the reasons for our decisions.
Here, we support great thinkers, raising them to be leaders in their field, gradually improving our human capital.I would like to thank all of our employees and team members, both those who are currently working with us and those who have since left the business. SDI is as successful as it is today because everyone worked together to achieve great success. I would like to thank the designers and organizers of our various projects for their continued support for SDI and their role in our continual achievements. Above all, I thank those who have encouraged us whenever we faced an obstacle, taught us to maintain our determination, honesty, and effort. I reserve my greatest thanks to my two mentors, Khun Chop Chirapanidchakul and Khun Lakkhana Iamnampol who helped me get started in this company. If I were to compare our company to a shirt, I would say that we are all buttoned up already. From now on, every step SDI makes will be full of determination, strengthened by our past experiences. This is the pride we have in our work, and we will never tire of creating quality products for everyone.
Thitima Chirapanidchakul Executive Director

We would like to extend a genuine gratitude to all of our customers as you are a large part of our success.xyou to all of our customers as you are a large part of our success.
Mr. Chumpol Varasumamaythichat Project Director
In the year 1997, after I finished my education, I started my work in Siam Design, which at the time had only a small showroom selling assorted furniture around Chidlom. I garnered much technical knowledge in the workplace that I did not learn in school, but other than the technical aspects, the company also taught me much about business and living my life. The employees of Siam Design Industry have had, for the most part, similar experiences in starting their working careers. I started with no experience within the workplace at all, and received many lessons that built my expertise, skill and confidence from many people within the company, I can speak with confidence that SDI and its employees have grown together, like a family. We are a large family with an excellent leader, Khun Thitima, who has led everyone on the principles of trust and faith, who orchestrated our success with vision and intimate knowledge of the interior design industry, a leader who has sacrificed much and is always ready to tackle the job with our employees at any time. Regardless of what problems may arise, all we have to do is ask for help and we will get it. Other than our capable employees, a great leader is another factor that contributes to the strength of SDI. It is another reason why SDI continues to grow to this day. In such a competitive business environment, we understand that time is crucial to our client’s business, especially in the hospitality industry which is our key customer group. Even one day of delay may cause monetary damages in 6 figures or more, hence we place great importance in punctuality. SDI comprises of an efficient team which is able to work in sync with each other, with a system in place which allows us to deliver projects in the time agreed upon, making us the ideal choice for professional contractor work.
I started working at SDI since it was just a small, unknown furniture company. Today, I am proud to be a part of this strong team. Within ten years, Siam Design Industr y has become known for quality furniture as well as one of the key interior designers in the country. This was not achieved by chance, but through hard work and dedication from all departments of the company. On top of our emphasis on technology, we also emphasize the importance of our human capital, as our staff are the key to success. We have always placed importance in workplace happiness through benefits, training and appropriate compensation with the belief that when our employees are happy, the end product will show quality and care. In our past projects, we have been through a variety of obstacles but they are only tests for our team’s strength and tenacity. SDI takes on these challenges as opportunities to grow and expand. We have always believed that our commitment to satisfy our customer’s needs stem from the values we place in every new team member: ‘Do what is right.’ We believe that doing the right thing will be rewarded with happiness, justice and satisfaction. For this reason, we have the privilege of taking on large projects in varied locales. Our end results are testaments of the quality of service that we offer all around Thailand. You will see with your own eyes in the proceeding pages the various projects SDI has already raised a flag on. We will continue to offer reliable service and quality results to all of our customers. That is the promise from us at SDI.

Guests are greeted by a 200 meter exotically landscaped driveway that leads to the hotel’s iconic blue building set within a secluded oasis. the project. The lobby area is large and open and to maintain this spacious feel, low profile furniture was selected to ensure this ambience was not disrupted. A notable feature is the overhead lighting that combines the properties of light and glass to create a magnificent light installation that illuminates the entire space. Another distinctive trait of the room is the colourful rug that contrasts with the light installation. The shades of purple are a stark contrast to the white, warm light above and help provide the room with some colour. For the bathrooms, SDI chose black marble, glass and lighting to create a theme that contrasts with the lobby area. Lights were strategically placed to act as not only lighting, but also as features.

Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket Work Scope: Interior Fit-Out & Loose Furniture Location: Phuket, Thailand Instead of curtains, windows were fitted with Portuguese style wooden louvres in homage to the building’s history. Given the close proximity to the beach, SDI decided to follow a beach-theme through the use of wooden furniture and colour tones reminiscent of the beach. The pale coloured walls contrast with the dark wooden built-on cabinets and flooring. Like the vaulted ceilings that can be found in the main lobby, the guestrooms also have vaulted ceilings that also act as a prominent feature of the room. Tasked with having to renovate the bathrooms as well, SDI decided to use marble as the main material. Stainless steel fittings provided a nice complement to the grey of the walls and floors. A notable feature is the red marble vanity table.
Lush green hills and direct access to the beach are some of the highlights of the Centara Grand Beach Resort. Located in the most secluded area of Karon Beach, all of the resort’s rooms, suites and villas face the bay and provide breathtaking views of the beach and Andaman Sea. Designed in the Sino-Portuguese architectural style, the property surrounds a waterpark that contains two slides, bathing pools, lazy river and four swimming pools to ensure guests are able to fully immerse themselves in the resort’s surrounding landscape. For the Centara Grand, SDI was tasked with renovating each of the guestrooms in the resort. Emphasis was placed on the need to ensure the theme for the rooms followed in the Sino-Portuguese style of the building.

Rayavadee Premier Resort Krabi Work Scope: Interior Fit-Out & Loose Furniture Location: Krabi, Thailand Rayavadee Premier Resort is one of Thailand’s most beautiful and most unique resort hotels with a spectacular location and spellbinding ambience. The original resort was built a decade ago upon an isolated peninsula amid a coconut plantation that lies between two crescent beaches overlooked by a towering limestone outcrop with sheer cliffs which forms a mighty headland on whose far side is another beach. With further cliffs forming a backdrop on the landward side, the location is cut off from the mainland of Krabi province; it can only be reached by boat – there are no roads. This remote combination of lush greenery, superb beaches and dramatic mountains is the setting for a fantastic getaway; a resort hotel of great luxury and unique character in which guests stay in round, mushroom-like villas amid tropical gardens and coconut groves, embraced by nature yet attended by all the deluxe amenities of a five-star hotel.
tasks involved a wide variety of interior spaces. In the public areas, these ranged from the fully enclosed lobby with its high vaulted ceiling to the semi-outdoor coffee shop which gives onto a garden; from the Raitalay Terrace open-sided beachside restaurant to the Andaman Grotto bar located inside a cavern within the limestone outcrop. SDI was tasked with producing and/or providing all furniture, fittings and surface finishes for the project. These ranged all the way from the fine luxury fittings in the deluxe pavilions to the hard-wearing chairs of the beachside restaurant terrace. All accommodation at Rayavadee Premier Resort consists of detached units, mostly two-storeyed that are either classed as a pavilion or villa. In total there are eight variations including Hydro Pool Pavilions and Spa Pavilions, two-bedroom family villas and expansive three-bedroom villas with butler service. With each variation having its own style and level of luxury, the renovation task required several different approaches in the refitting of all built-in elements such as closets and panelling. Walls had to be refinished and wooden surfaces repolished. New decorative items had to be sourced to ensure they complemented the new style of each room. Rattan was widely used in order to express the tropical location of the resort. Rattan armchairs, tables and lampshades feature frequently in the rooms with the most notable feature a rattan screen that lines the ceiling of the domed lobby. SDI produced all the new fittings and furniture at its Bangkok factory before transporting to the site at Krabi by truck and boat.
SDI was commissioned to do a complete renovation of the resort’s shared hospitality areas such as the lobby lounge, restaurants, cafes and bars and a renovation of the resort’s one hundred villas involving about eighty per cent of their facilities. The project also required SDI to undertake all necessary mechanical and electrical work in the same areas. Conditions were challenging, as all materials had to be brought in by boat and no trees could be felled to assist access; the resort is proud of its environmental credentials and concerned to maintain them which SDI fully committed to respect and work within the environmental constraints.
