BRIANA

JACKSON Briana first became interested in modeling at a young age. She recalls the times when she realized this is the path she wanted to take, “When i was younger I used to order these magazines called Delias and Alloy online. This is back when Cassie modeled for them, from then on I said to myself, I want to do what she’s doing!”

MODEL BRIANA JACKSON ALREADY HAS HER FOOT IN THE DOOR IN THE FASHION WORLD. WITH A B.A IN FASHION MERCHANDISING AND HER INVOLVEMENT IN A VARIETY OF SHOWS AND SHOOTS, THIS NEWPORT NEWS, VA HOTTIE IS BRINGING SOMETHING HOT TO THE SCENE! CATCH UP WITH BRIANA IN THE HNS Q&A…… Q-How would you describe your style of modeling? “I want to say a little between sexy and sultry.”

Q-How do you prepare for a modeling shoot?

“I like to work under pressure the day of I pick what I want to wear because I know I always change my mind, and I like what I am wearing based on what I am feeling that day. So it works for me.”

Q-What is your favourite shoot to date? “My second shoot, it was done in Vegas at the Cosmo and the scenery was just beautiful. The photographer made me feel comfortable and worked at my speed.”

Q-Which is your favourite photo that a photographer has taken of you? “I’m wearing a white one piece, something about wearing all white makes me feel sexy but innocent.”

Q-Do you ever get shy in front of the camera? “Yes but after awhile I don't even think about it, I’m focused on making my shoot look good!”

Q-Is modeling an easy job or more difficult than people realize?

“I think it’s difficult because you never know what people want or what they define as beauty at the time. Also everyone wants to do it, so if you really trying to make this your full-time career. It’s hard ‘cause you have a billion other girls trying to do the same thing you are trying to do.”

Q-Do you find modeling to be fun and rewarding? “I think it’s fun, but I think it would be more rewarding once you get to a certain place in modeling.” Q-What is the best and worst thing about modelling? “Everyone wants to do it but it can lead and open doors for other things.”

Q~ How would you describe your personal style, where do you get your inspiration from? “I think casual chic… I get my inspiration from looking at my surroundings and people.”

Q-Sometimes the modeling industry gets a bad rap with the jealousy and egos encountered between other models and agencies. Was this true for you? Have you managed to tough it out and make good friends? “Thankfully I met a lot of models that have been very inspiring and encouraging.”

@_briiiana Q-Is there anyone in the industry who inspires you? “It has to be Cassie, she’s very good at what she does and she took what she learned from her modeling and used it to her advantage with her music.”

Q-What do you feel you bring to the modeling world? “I think versatility, a new body style.”

With that being said, what do you feel you have that sets you apart from the other models? “Nowadays if you do not have big boobs or have a big butt you are not a model or don't have the ideal body type but, me I feel like I’m right in the middle. I have curves but I’m still slender.”

Q-What advice do you have for other aspiring models? “Know what you want to be known for and what you will and will not do.”

Q-Any shout outs?

“My best friend, she never judges me and she’s always there when I need her the most.”

“I NEVER SAY “NEVER” TO ANYTHING….” Throughout her career she's been successful in many areas of the entertainment industry. Living her dreams, the life that most of us aspiring entertainers would die for. With several highlights and big moments in her career including her big role as WWE Diva, starring in the movie Pumpkin Karver or dozens of other TV and movie roles. Despite it all, still she remains down to earth and good hearted. She has been on many big national and international magazine covers. She is the most powerful independent celebrity HNS has ever come across. This is not just an honor but the absolute most memorable moment for HNS Magazine history. The exclusive interview with billboard artist, actress, model, host and producer Amy Weber. As a child, did you picture yourself being in the entertainment industry?

intimate moments with such a big audience?

“I think I always knew in the back of my head that entertainment was where my heart was but it wasn't something that was fostered in me as a child. I didn't have the support so I kept it to myself.”

“It was nice to know that a memory so special will forever be etched in TV history. They didn't really cover anything that our close friends and family didn't see so I don't really feel like I shared super "intimate" moments with the world. Our wedding was fun and the ceremony was purposely short and entertaining. Nothing drives me more crazy than sitting at a ceremony while people drone on and on. I wanted to get to the point and get to the party to celebrate.”

We know that this industry isn't all what it's made out to be sometimes. Being in the entertainment industry has there ever been a time when you felt something was going be different than it actually was? “All the time, there are too many times to count. Once I figured out that it wasn't something that I could "control" it made it a little easier to accept the deception and BS that sometimes comes with trying to pursue a career in the industry. I finally realized that I should just control the part that I could and that was me, being trained, prepared and ready.” Once you became so well known, how were you able to balance your personal life with your business life?

You have really made your mark in the music industry, your song "Something Kinda Ooh" was named in the top 100 songs of 2010. Have you always wanted to get into the music scene? “Music has always been in my heart. I got super busy pursuing my acting career and modeling as a way to pay for my life as an actress that I just sort of pushed it aside for many years. I think I am living proof that it is never "too late" to do something that is tugging at your heart.”

“I think I am still trying to find that balancewe all are. Some days are easier than others. There were many years that I was and felt like I had to be truly selfish and it was easier to be alone than to not give someone in your life the time that they want and deserve. Each day is a new challenge and you just do your best.” You've in starred many TV shows and films and your wedding was also filmed for We Channel's "Platinum Weddings". What’s it like to be in the spotlight and share those

PHOTOS BY BRIAN B. HAYES

Your single "Let it Rain" featured on the Billboard Breakout charts in the US at #4, describe the moment when you found out that your song made the Billboards. “It just didn't seem real. Music is so personal to me and I never in my wildest dreams thought that I could reach that type of success with it. I wasn't doing it to get the accolades or recognition. I was just putting out what was in my heart and giving back to something that kept me going in really difficult times in my life and that's music.” What are you currently working on as far as music goes? “I just released the Music Video to "Dance of Life". I have been writing and recording with some amazing guys- "The Jackie Boyz" who are Grammy winning producers and we have a ton of singles that are yet to be released. I am also releasing the Music Video for my single "Warrior" this month. I co-wrote a song called "Hero" that was released alongside a Music Video that was dedicated to all the men and women in uniform and all of the download proceeds go to…….

continued ….www.operationgratitude.com and www.houndsandheroes.com. I also got nominated for two music awards! I won the Akadamia award for "Best Dance song 2013" for “Dance of Life” and I am up for "Best Dance Song" at the HMMA awards this year too. I was also invited to open their Awards show this November so I’m excited and honored and will make sure I put on an Amazing show.” More recently you starred in the film Crossroad where you play "Rita".You're usually known for the sexy girl role in movies and TV shows. We read that you were originally offered the role of the mistress but instead you took the role of the unglamorous waitress. What motivated you to make the choice to take on a role completely opposite than one your fans recognize you for?

“I had done similar roles in the beginning of my career and then somehow people just started seeing me as the "vixen" or the "bad girl". I love playing those complex roles but this one was different and seemed like a challenge, something I have a hard time not taking on. To seem outwardly good and righteous but to have such a deep hidden secret inside was something I had never played before so I wanted to see if I could take it on. Plus, it is really nice not having to wear makeup everyday on set!” What's in the future for Amy Weber? “I never say "never" to anything but I think I am finally on a path that feels very "right." I can foresee myself performing a lot more live as for as music goes, touring. I truly have a passion for producing as well as photography, so

J-HOOD

THE EXCLUSIVE

HNS Magazine is proud to bring you the exclusive interview on one of Yonkers hiphop legends. One of the original artists from D-Block, he had a record deal before he was even legally old enough to drive, and who happens to be one of the hottest spitters in the game to this day, J-Hood. J-Hood’s verses get the most rewinds and replays and you just gotta hear that fire one more time. Every time he spit he brings that HEAT, he’s got a reputation for it and he never lets his fans down. Today JHood is CEO of his own label O.D.G Entertainment, doing it super big and holding it down for the streets. HNS’s Permashine was very fortunate to get a little time from his busy schedule to sit down for the exclusive Interview. Wassup J-Hood, we appreciate you for allowing HNS to do the interview. Legend tells it that DMX helped your career get started. Can you tell a bit about how you met DMX and got discovered? “First of all let me start by saying thanks for reaching out and being interested in having me in your mag. I def appreciate the opportunity, but to answer your question that's actually pretty funny that you said that "Legend Tells it" (lol), I heard that same story and have been asked that quite a few times I honestly have no idea where that came from.” It was an online source(lol), I appreciate you clearing that up for us. So, of all the great points in your career, what would you say is the most memorable so far? “Well I'm still trying to reach my great points in my career truthfully but one thing I will never forget that made me feel like a full fledge star was during the “I Declare war” Jay Z mini tour, if I'm not mistaken, I got to be his and Diddy's hype man because the LOX had records with them both and Hov had brought them out to perform.

Wow, I couldn't even imagine how amazing that would be. Since you have several years of industry experience tell us something you were surprised wasn't the way you thought it was gonna be? “A lot, the people in it for the most part but hey that's life.” What can we expect to see from ODG Entertainment this year? “We are looking to drop 6 projects before the end of the year, "Book of Joshua 2 Reloaded" from me "Slik Talk 4.8" by my artist Q-Caine out of Charlotte N.C. , "Life After da Block" DVD from me, "Brothers from Another" from my fellow C.E.O Stikk Man and I, an album from me and west coast legend Yukmouth and a short film called "Choppin".”

“Thanks a lot, I also directed the vid , I just wanted to transfer my actual feelings onto a beat and hope people would feel my pain or even relate to some of the things I was saying and see that my life is no different than theirs, heart ache and loss effects any and everyone.” You definitely achieved that. Also the HNS Radios # 1song "You Can Do It" available on ITunes, big stacks on the track we got PROJECT PAT, LIL FLIP, RON BROWNZ & TORCH. Our listeners are loving it, it’s getting a lot of requests. Can you tell us a bit about how everyone came together to make this Banger? “Sure, the track was originally supposed to have Waka Flocka, Project Pat and Rich-Boy on it but Waka was busy touring so I reached out to Ron to get a catchy club hook then Torch and they sent their vocals back, I just wanted to do a song featuring a few people they wouldn't normally expect to hear together.” We appreciate you taking the time to talk to us. Before we wrap it up do you have anyone you wanna shout out? “Shout out to everyone in my company, my supporters and family, follow me on twitter @ODG_DON follow my film company @STR8_SHOT_FILMZ and follow the movement @ODGTHEMOVEMENT.”

HOTTEST 4 BARS Let's Talk about THE SACRIFICE Mixtape, everyone's hype about the release. How do you feel about this project? When can we expect the release? “We decided to push this particular project back until Jan but it’s basically just a collection of songs reflected on my views of life, things I’ve learned, pain I endured mentally from trials and tribulations and also look for inspirational tunes because it will be filled with them.” I gotta give you props on the FEEL MY PAIN VIDEO. One of my all-time favorites, that joint definitely gives us a side of J-Hood that some of us haven't seen. Describe for us the motivations and mindset you were in when you wrote that track.

"U might catch me in a 4 door 4 plus 4, 4 years b4 it hit the show room floor, and I clock more broads then the coach of a track team, what u kno about a cromb 5th with a black beam"

“You definitely learn a lot about yourself…..” “HNS BRINGS YOU KATIE DANZER, WHO JUST HAPPENS TO ALSO BE MISS NEW MEXICO 2013!”

KATIE DANZER

Miss New Mexico 2013

Congratulations again on winning Miss New Mexico 2013. Wow, what a huge moment in your life, can you tell us about that experience? “You definitely learn a lot about yourself, and how much you can handle. Miss USA is 4 weeks long, with 50 other girls, and 50 other personality types; on top of rehearsing all day everyday with no sleep, and a rough diet. Aside from nationals, I have had an amazing experience meeting new people, helping different charities and functions locally, and really making a difference in my community, it's been long rough and full of constant hard work!” Have you always competed in Pageants? “No! I'm actually the exact opposite from a pageant girl, I was kind of thrown in, and had to hire coaches to help me figured out what to do and what to expect!” How did it feel to compete in the Miss USA Pageant? “The Miss USA pageant is huge, I always watched it as a little girl, but never imaged what it would be like to be there! It was a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.” Tell us a bit about Katie, where did you grow up? What school did you attend? What are your hobbies? “Originally from Scottsdale, Arizona but grew up and went to high school in Rio Rancho, New Mexico; where I played volleyball, and did a lot of outdoor activities like camping, fishing and snowboarding!” When did you first become interested in modeling? “I started modeling around the age of 15 but got more serious about it at around 19.”

How do you prepare for a modeling shoot? “Some of the basics include spray tans, getting hair and makeup ready and picking out a song playlist that matches the style of shoot. I also prepare by working out and dieting.” What is your favourite shoot to date? I did a football shoot last week, in some sexy 49ers wear. It was definitely the funnest shoot, and very different from what I'm use to! And I love supporting my favorite team! Which is your favourite photo that a photographer has taken of you? “Peter Gonzales Photography took a fantastic photo of me on a vintage couch!” Do you ever get shy in front of the camera? “Never, it's part of the job, I love being in front of the camera.”

How would you describe your personal style, where do you get your inspiration from? “My personal style is definitely a mix of urban and high fashion. I like to use my imagination and come up with ideas, or I look through magazines and try to alter images with my own styles and fixes.” Do you get to travel a lot for your work? If so what's your favorite city that you have visited? “Yes I am fortunate enough to travel, I like going everywhere, but I'm a fan of warm weather!” You seem to have a very full plate when it comes to your career. How do you balance your personal life with your professional life? “I think that organization is a big key in my life, you've got to keep track of a lot and you really need to know how multi task and juggle different things.” If you weren't modeling, what would you see yourself doing? “I am actually also a full time student, studying Medicine.” We had read that you actually studied biology and pre-med as you hoped on becoming an anesthesiologist. Is this still a path that you are travelling on? “Absolutely, I am still in school to be a doctor.”

PeterGonzalesPhotography.com

continued… Sometimes the modeling industry gets a bad rap with the jealousy and egos encountered between other models and agencies. Was this true for you? Have you managed to tough it out and make good friends? “I'm a very friendly and social person, so I have never really had a horrible experience with anyone I have met or worked with.” Is there anyone in the industry who inspires you? “Since I was in my teens, I have always looked up to Marisa Miller.” What do you feel you bring to the modelling world? “I have a very versatile look, and can easily adapt for any type of look that is needed.” With that being said, what do you feel you have that sets you apart from the other models? “My personality, I also like to have a good time and developed relationships and make a lasting impression on everyone that I work with.”

ISABELLE

LAKE

@IsabelleALake

ISABELLE How would you describe your personal style, where do you get your inspiration from? “I’m the type that is classy and ‘Pin Up’ style. I love showing off my body and its curves but always in a classy and elegant way. I don’t really follow fashion. If I see a piece of clothing that looks good on me I will take it and wear it. Don’t care if it’s in style or not. I wear what I want to wear.” Do you get to travel a lot for your work? If so what's your favorite city that you have visited? “Yeah I do, mostly in the south of France. I’ve been to Montpellier, Aix, Marseille, St Tropez, Toulon already, never been to Paris yet. That’s my next big step. Got to work here to go over there. I’ve been all over in the States as well since I grew up over there too. But professionally speaking I’ve only emerged in the South of France. I haven’t touched Paris yet. I hope to one day.” If you weren't modeling what would you see yourself doing? “Becoming a famous novel writer. I do write. That’s my second career main focus. I’m actually finishing off my first novel. I might get published. Cross your fingers for me, a way to make them last.”

What do you feel you have that sets you apart from the other models? “I’m real and I don’t consider myself to be a sexual object that men lust after. I have a loud and rude mouth. That’s what sets me aside from the other models. If I have something to say I will say it. I don’t care to who and how I say it. Many people have come to me saying “Isabelle, your mouth is too big, you have to shut up and be fake, that’s how you’re going to make it”, that makes me laugh because those people that encouraged me to be fakes are sitting down doing nothing in their lives and I’m answering this interview. Why, because I’ve been faithful to myself. Some models are shy and scared of showing who they really are because they are afraid that an agency or show won’t take them. I’m who I am. Fuck the rest. I don’t care if you’re the president’s half daughter or the first minister’s lover, If you’re full of bullshit, I will let you know that. I rather keep my values intact than a fake persona. You either love me or you don’t. I’m not the type of model to change in order to sign a contract.”

Is there anyone in the industry who inspires you? “Dita Von Teese. I just love everything that she represents.” What do you feel you bring to the modeling world? “I feel that I bring trueness to it. It has lost lots of its human values over this past few years and I’m just trying to bring it all back.”

LAKE What advice do you have for other aspiring models? “Just to be true to themselves and they will go far. Don’t take no bullshit from nowhere and accept who you are. Love yourself and take care of yourself. Keep those legs closed. Sex won’t get you far. Working hard will.” What person have you worked with in the industry that is most memorable to you? “Luc Besson. I remember being small and looking at his film. Next thing you know, I’m on one of his movie sets. That was awesome.” What is your idea of an ideal career for you? “International Top Model, having all the lingerie brands in the world wanting me to pose for them. Being on the cover of many magazines and making my novels a best seller.”

@IsabelleALake

continued… What are your thoughts on the modeling industry? Is it a difficult industry to be in? “It’s really hard because you have to stay faithful to yourself but also give people what they want to look at. It’s hard because there is a lot of competition. A lot of bitches trying to take your place and doing nasty things to get through. Sometimes people put you in the dark because you don’t or won’t accept to do certain things. That’s hard because my parents raised me well. I’ve missed a lot of big contracts because they couldn’t handle my values or wanted me to change. You have people constantly hating or judging you. It’s real hard. You have to work hard to keep your spot and stay true to who you are. It’s a job where everybody tries to change you. People think you just have to look pretty and that’s it. Well it’s not. If your body changes shape they fire you. If your face changes shape, they fire you. If you don’t talk or walk the right way they put you aside. So stressful. I’m used to it

now. I love what I do so it doesn’t bother me that much. I do what I have to do.” When did you first become interested in modeling? “Since I was little, I think I was born with the camera beside me in my mother’s tummy. I just fell in love with it. I loved the way the camera would capture me and give me the feeling that I could live forever.” How would you describe your style of modeling? “My style is the Glamour type of modeling. I love my body and the way I portray it on my pictures. The ones you could spend days looking at it because It’s classy and dreamy.” The type of picture where you could express yourself through simple posture. No need to talk. Just strike a pose and you understand everything. I love being inaccessible. You could look at me but you definitely cannot touch me!”

Is there a part of the world you would like to do a shoot? “I don’t know, maybe in the middle of New York. That would be cool.” Are there any current or future projects you would like to share? “Well, I’m actually founding a luxurious event planning company with my makeup artist, Sam Makeup. We’re planning on conquering Europe. I’m also working on a publicity to prevent suicide. That should be out soon.” Give me 5 facts that people may not know about you. “When I was small, I used to cut myself. I love everything that scary and mysterious like myths, superstitions and magic. I have a half-sister from my father’s side. I’ve had only one boyfriend. I’ve nearly been to jail. I was on a 3 years term probation after burning down my hotel room and been on antidepressants over since.”

CYNDIE FRANCHI All the way from the South of France HNS brings you Cyndie Franchi. Cyndie started modeling at the age of 16 and since then has really made her mark in the modeling world. This warm hearted brunette beauty knows exactly what she wants out of life when it comes to this industry. She knows herself more than most models we have come across. Listening to her positivity is rather inspiring and we couldn’t be happier that she graced the pages of our magazine! Being a people person we asked Cyndie what turns her off or away from people, “People with no goals or motivation in life, people who are too predictable, people who "settle". We see Cyndie as a real go-getter, and we were curious to ask her a few more questions……..

I love sharing nice moments with them.” If you weren't modeling what would you see yourself doing? “When I was young, I wanted to be a professional dancer, or a steward!” What advice do you have for other aspiring models? “Simply live! Never go back, even if everybody knows that Life is rude, everybody has ups and downs, that's life, but always continue to go straight! That's my rule #1 You have to keep yourself focused as much as possible to success, keep natural, be a hard worker, and accept that the private and social life will be for later. It takes perseverance, control, having an open mind, and above all, faith... You have to have faith in yourself to know that you are beautiful and you can pull it off!” Do you have a website or fan page, where your fans can give you feedback and possibly get a response from you? “Sure! I have a fan page on facebook. I won’t miss to respond to them ! I post messages, photos and events every day ! Feel free to write me!” Any shout outs? “Stay yourself! Too many people in this world try to be somebody else, that's so sad. You are who you are, and what your family tried to educate you on, you have to respect this! Being natural is the best thing I appreciate in people! Simply live! Never go back, even if everybody knows that life is rude, everybody has ups and downs, that's life, but always continue to go straight!”

RELL CASH The first time HNS heard Rell Cash GinLife on 103.7 HNS Radio we knew it was gonna be a #1 song. Not only did GinLife reach #1 on the Top 10 Countdown, It also locked in the top spot for requests, making GinLife HNS Magazines official Hiphop Song of the year. HNS recommends you open your iTunes and search Ginlife, and copt the single. This is the track you blast with the windows down. HNS’s Permashine met up with Rell Cash for the exclusive Interview. P-We appreciate you giving up some time for the interview. Hows things? R-Everything is all good I appreciate u all for having me P-For sure, What inspired you to name yourself Rell Cash? R-My birth name is "Lorell" n I've been called "Rell" my whole life by family n friends so it stuck but "Cash" was added to it cuz I'm all about that money lol P-I feel ya. For all who don’t know, where is your hometown? R-Milwaukee, WI born n raised P-Alright, shouts Milwaukee!! Let's talk about the song GinLife. What was going through your head when you first heard that instrumental?

R-MANN!! When I first heard it I just zoned out the track is crazy! I just started flowin I was in the crib pacing back n forth rhyming for like 10 minutes and I had the whole song done in my head! No pen, No pad! P-Whattttt!!! No pen and no pad that’s skillzzz. Many artists would struggle with a beat like that, but you went in and made it look easy. So I gotta ask what that moment was like after you heard the finished version of GinLife? R-I was so in time with the beat when I heard it I just felt it, I think every artist can hear something that triggers ‘em and they just go from there and that's exactly what I did. Once the track was finished I was like "Yea, Yo this the one.” P-I agree with ya, I was listening to submissions that day for hours, falling asleep and then GinLife came on, The energy had me instantly LIVE so congrats on the hit. If you weren’t in the Music industry, what do you think you would be doing right now? R-Thank you. Man that's hard to say you know, I played college basketball and I had hoop dreams, so hopefully I would be somewhere making the most of those talents if I wasn't doin’ music. If not, only God knows. It's crazy where I'm from. P-I feel ya. It’s one thing to make hits, but you also got a strong fan base, so you must be grindin’. Something tells me this ain’t your first win. So I gotta

ask, up to this point whats’ a real memorable moment in your career? R-Man I certainly appreciate my fan base to the utmost! Although I'm on the rise they stand behind me n they are loyal, but I believe that the fans will be loyal to you if you are loyal to them, and as an artist I'm loyal to them by making good music. P-That’s real talk, well said R-With that being said I have a winner’s attitude I WILL NOT LOSE. EVER! And I will continue to make good music P-Alright you def proved that since we on the topic about keeping your fans happy. Many listeners do not appreciate the level of talent you must have acquired to be able to produce consecutive hot songs. Did you have to work hard to master this, or does it come naturally for you? R-To be good at something you have to work at it PERIOD. That goes from tying shoes, to designing buildings. Rapping is easy anyone can rap! Painting a picture verbally takes hard work and skill and I certainly work hard on that. P-Is there anyone you wanna shout out? R-Mos def. I wanna shout out the fans, my followers on twitter, their followers on twitter first because they spoke n they were heard! BEAT MAKING TIPS FROM THE PROS

“THERE’S AN ART TO MAKING CONSECUTIVE HOT BEATS…” Producers & Beat-makers, there's a lot of money to be made from selling and leasing beats. With a worldwide customer base at your fingertips the possibilities are endless. If you have the talent to make a beat so hot that everyone wants to get on it, you may have a shot. The hard part is doing it over and over. Sometimes playing around with drum pads, mpc's and programs everything comes together and we produce the hottest beat ever. But then find ourselves unable to do it again and make another hit beat. You’re not alone, many can make a beat but there's an art to making consecutive hot beats. If you’re a producer trying hard to lock down that art, I put this article together in efforts to steer you in the right direction. I selected beat makers and producers from all around the world that make hot beats consecutively, and make a living off beats and production. These professionals were kind enough to pass down a valuable tip to help you become successful in a beat making career. “My tip is Make each beat unique. You don't have to copy someone else's style to be successful. Create a new sound, master that sound, and become the leader of your original new school work.”

MAL808KEYS @malkeys808

RONNIE ROCKETS @MrRocketsBeats

“If I had to give a quick tip I'd tell up and coming producers to always strive to be better to stay ahead of the competition by studying their favorite producers to create a style that is unique and original. Also always keep their sound banks up to date because music is always evolving. A producer is only as good as his sound bank.”

“One tip I can give is that any up and coming producers just stay down with the grind and invest in yourself.”

XAVIER

@XavierOfficial

“As a sample based producer I would say, when looking at samples always listen to the whole track! Don't just skip after the intro because you could miss a dope sample. Also do not limit yourself to one type of genre experiment with different sounds.”

“The biggest tip I can give is to KEEP GRINDING. It may seem that you’re the only one that believes in yourself, but you have to or else no one will. Perseverance is key.”

CEDDY CROCKER @cedricj7

LATE NIGHT PRODUCTION TEAM @latenightmusic1

“For all producers, when it’s time to use a sample, even if you think that you could use a long and easy loop for your beat, don't be scared to cut the groove into small pieces. You really need to create your own melodies and add your own flavor to your creation to be different. Still, you are best placed to know what to do with the sample in your hands, the best guide is always your ears and your instincts!”

LOSTARR LOSTARR’S HIT SONG “RAGS TO RICHES” FEATURING MEEK MILLS AND YO GOTTI, HIT #1 IN SEPTEMBER ON 103.7 HNS RADIO. ONE OF HNS RADIO’S MOST REQUESTED #1 SONG’S OF ALL TIMES. We couldn’t wait to see what was up with Meridian, Mississippi’s own hit making hiphop artist/producer Lostarr. Lostarr began his music career producing beats and hooks at the early age of 16. Throughout his music career he has worked with several local and national artists, some of which are on top of the game right now. We spoke about influences and who we thought inspired or motivated us most in the industry, Lostarr told us "I would like to work with Birdman because he's a genius, as well as a true business man. I respect him and I’m motivated by him.” His #1 HNS Radio song "Rags to Riches" ft. Meek Mills and Yo Gotti, put him on the HNS Magazine radar. And when we asked him about his most memorable career moment, we were surprised to discover that the Rags to Riches hit was so far just another highlight to add with his song collaborations. Lostarr has collaborated with artists such as Big Krit, Rocko, Youngscooter, Boo (CTE), Slim Thugg, Lil Boosie, Bohagon, and more. His proudest achievement he said was the success of his World Star video release OG Cush Feat. Supa Mane, Moe D, Korleon, Bohagon. It hit over 2 million hits on World Star in just one day. HNS agrees that’s amazing and almost unheard of for an independent artist. We just had to meet up with Lostarr for a few questions…. Ain't tripping/cause God got me/ Real nigga/ no carbon-copy

I write or freestyle my own material, I engineer my own music, I do my own graphics, I can even make beats when i have enough time to do so.” Who's someone you would like to work with in the industry, and why? “I would love to work with Wale. I say Wale because to me, he is the coolest poet alive. I admire his work and ability to speak truth making it so heart felt. I would love to recite poetry over music the way he does one day. He inspires me.”

If you follow me on twitter @missbrionline you will be one of the first to know when it drops.” Is there anything else you would like to discuss? “Yes, outside of my music career I would also like to get into modeling and acting. Acting has always been a dream of mine.” Is there anyone you would like to shout out? “I would first like to say THANK GOD for getting me this far and allowing me to stay focused. I want to thank my support team back home (Champaing IL) and anyone else who has believed in me. Please to continue to show support it is very much appreciated.”

CANDICE SAND

@candicesand

"I hit and held my last note and when I let go, the theater erupted in applause. It felt amazing." Candice Sand tells HNS in the interview. From Saskatchewan now living in the Toronto area, this Pop/R&B Singer Songwriter is quickly establishing herself in the music business. She's currently teamed up with Grammy/Juno nominated production and writing team Kuya Productions Inc. With her foot inside the door to the industry, it was only right to feature Candice Sand in our Special Indie Celeb Issue.

What quality do you feel you have that sets you aside from others in your profession? “Positivity... it's in the words I write & sing, the way I do business, and the way I live my life. Some people mistake positivity for being naive or refusing to face "reality". I don't agree with that at all. I think it makes you brighter, stronger, and more resilient... and I think that more and more people in the world want to be a part of that way of thinking.” Up to this point what would you say is your most memorable moment in your career? “I would have to say performing at the Miss Universe Canada pageant. I only performed two songs: my new single "I Got This" and an acoustic cover of the Beatles tune "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" (the 'Across the Universe' arrangement). "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" was my last song I sang and I invited the audience to sing along with me. Well... they did and it was amazing! A full theater

of people singing out those beautiful words along with me! As the song ended, I hit and held my last note and when I let go, the theater erupted in applause. It felt amazing.” Is there any upcoming projects you would like to discuss? Yes! I just finished recording my debut EP set for release in 2014! Kuya Productions Inc (known best for their work with multiplatinum R&B artist JRDN) produced it and together we co-wrote all of the songs for the EP. Also, there’s a couple great artists that are featured on a couple tracks... so stay tuned!

STRAIGHT JACKET LEGENDS Meet the Straight Jacket Legends. Coming to us from the UK, the band formed in 2011 with Daniel Morgan and brothers Caine, Tommy and Jake Jones-Williams. HNS featured this pop-punk band in our Spring 2012 Issue. SJL is the hottest punk band to cross our path and we were curious where a year has brought these legends. When we caught up with them we weren’t surprised that what we had predicted for these up and coming stars, had just been the path that they were travelling on. They have recently signed a deal with International Independent label Self Made Records and are set to record their yet- titled debut full length

album this year. SMR will be releasing the album worldwide through Sony RED and cementing tour plans for California & New York in the new year. Straight Jacket Legends have asked musician, friend and Hollywood actor Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie, Rookie of the Year) to perform on the album. Other guests confirmed for the album include Brendan B. Brown (Teenage Dirtbag writer, and Wheatus frontman) and Nerdcore Hip-Hop artist MC Lars. The band released their single ‘She’s Out of Line’ (feat. MC Lars) in July 2013 to excellent reviews. Kerrang! Radio deemed it a ‘PopPunk Classic’. To celebrate the

place

Album recording will take place at Ferlas Studios and will be produced by Richard Roberts.

signing, the band are set to rerelease their debut EP ‘Lemon Party’ with added tracks, bonus material, and more in time for Christmas this year. Previously, the EP had performed well on the iTunes charts, peaking at No.5 on the ‘What’s Hot?’ chart.
