PERSONAL STATEMENT

I'm final year student in architecture major at Ho Chi Minh University of Architecture. I love everything about design, especially about architecture design. I am an active person, I like learning and research in university, as well as enjoy participating in the activities, competitions related to my expertise. 5 years in school, I have participated in more than 10 competitions and won several prizes. My most strength is the organization of work, teamwork and the ability to adapt to new environments quickly. And currently I am working parttime in an architectural design office in Vietnam, as the main assistant of the lead architect, after just 2 week from the start of work. In November last year, I had the opportunity to visit Kajima Japan office through Bim Competition. that time, I was extremely interested in the work environment at Kajima. And now, I hope to have the opportunity to return to Japan for working, for myself to have more experience and knowledge of my professional, especially about the management. I
n the context of a developing society, people are just trying to find something far away, leaving an urban which grow too fast and too lonely, strange and impersonal. The design comes from one of the metro axis passing through the city center. The stop station is choosen to be right in front of the historic sites such as the Opera House, City People’s Committee ... then grow into walking systems along 2 axes Nguyen Hue Street and Le Loi Street, thereby increasing the relative between pedestrians and between the adjacent buildings to obtain a street more slowly but more familiar, warmer, more humanity.

S
tarting from a blank space beneath the Y Bridge, a space which is closed by the steel grilles, but people living there do not accept. They demolished the net, step through the barrier. Since living in a dark corner, people are lack of the space to the living, to communicate, to live... Inspired by the idea that kitchen is the most important space to link every family members, this design is to create a community space in kitchen to form a connection. There’s where the kids have fun. There’s where the fathers are fishing. There’s a place for grandparents to plant vegetables and to walk. There’s a place for people to enjoy the delicious food at weekends cooked by mother. And there’s a place where the fire is kindled in the heart of people.

The 1st prize of the idea poster group contest - “Finding me from there� There are 2 persons in me. One is me - a person of reason, extremely principles at work, do whatever which has to come from somewhere, to be right and wrong clearly, logically and precisely like the wheel clock rang. Another is also me - a person of emotion, open eyes to see the world, unleash the creativeness, immersed to feel the world, like kids enjoy with new things. Through that pure prism suddenly realized the world around us is really close and wonderfully interesting. There are light and darkness, there is good and bad, with good-evil, right-wrong ... these are the opposites always exist in parallel and contradictory in nature and as in every human being. Reason and emotion are that way as well. They exist not only to contradict but also to harmonize, support each other, so that human can become a unified correction and integrity are created from the array of up.
