FINAL DESIGN PROJECT TRANSPARENCY IN DESIGNING BARCELONA PAVILION VISITING CENTER ARCH 216: DIGITAL CONSTRUCTION - INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECTURE STUDIO DESIGN AMHERST COLLEGE, SPRING 2015
This final project of the semester is about the design of a new building from the ground up, which will establish a formal, programmatic and spatial relationship with the existing historic building and site. The goal is to formulate a design approach, concept and aesthetic throughout the design of this project. Primarily, the new build will have to address the architecture of the Barcelona Pavilion connecting to or reflecting upon the style, space, structure, experience, theory or form of the architecture. This addition will function as a small study center, a small library and viewing space. *Rhinoceros 3D modeling + V-ray rendering

CONCEPT Recreate architectural experience of transparency by layering view and space
The concept of this new project took inspiration from the interlocking spaces diagram in the previous analysis of the Barcelona Pavilion. The idea is to integrate the architectural experience of transparency by creating multiple layers of simultaneous view while exploring the interlocking and overlaping of space. The design approach also expressed an interest in the dynamic of movements of architecture elements not only horizontally but also vertically
