Two New How-to Videos Here are some new how-to videos to help you model easily, realistically and successfully! In this video, Justin demonstrates why Dry Transfer Decals are the fastest and easiest way to add graphics to buildings, signs, rolling stock and other areas of a layout to add realism.

In the second video, modelers learn just how easy it is to cut custom foam terrain and structures using the Hot Wire Foam Cutter and Foam Cutter Bow and Guide.

We have more than 100 videos that demonstrate how to use a wide variety of Woodland Scenics products. Customer Success

What's Your Success Story?

A popular area of our website is the Customer Success Section, where we have posted lots of stories and

photos about modelers' experiences using Woodland Scenics to build their projects. There are stories and photos of model railroad layouts, plastic model dioramas, slot car tracks, structures, dollhouses and many others. Some projects were made by seasoned modelers with a long history of modeling under their belt. Others by newbies, who after trying their hand at modeling, discovered a new found passion. All the stories have two things in common...the modelers are very happy with the results of their efforts and their stories serve as inspiration and encouragement to all who dream of building a model. We would like to share a couple of these stories with you and invite you to share yours with us. Joe Doyle and his thirteen-year-old grandson Michael have been working together for the past year to build the Scenic Ridge layout at Michael's home in Germany. "It is a part-time project, as Michael is busy with Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey and of course, school", says Joe. "The original waterfall was actually cut out and removed as the scale was wrong." It is so easy to make changes and you would never know that the change was made. "Thank you for your wonderful line of products, they are so easy to use. For a first time project, we are extremely happy with the results. We think of this as a work-in-progress, as Michael is always coming up with new ideas." You can see more of Michael's fine work here.

Rick Abramson is a veteran modeler. "I have always been fascinated by heavy electrics and interurbans, beginning way back in 1955 when my dad introduced me to model railroading. Upon moving to Connecticut in 1959, I took an immediate interest in the electric zone of the New Haven RR. I tried to incorporate something "New Haven" in my layouts. My first attempt at stringing catenary was in 1967 when I purchased an HO MEW brass New Haven EF-1 motor at the "outrageous" price of $52.50!" "I had my sights set on working for the Railroad I modeled. In 1968, I hired on to the New Haven and began a 44-year career, eventually becoming a locomotive engineer. I was fortunate to be able to turn an avocation into my vocation." "My current New Haven layout was begun in June 1997 and just recently completed. . .although we all know a layout is never done." "The layout comprises the electric zone with all the correct New Haven style catenary and some of the non-electrified portions of the New Haven. It also has operating signals displaying the proper indications working thru Dallee Electronics." "Every piece of scenery; trees, grass, earth, water, etc. is all Woodland Scenics. Their products and staff are excellent!!" You can see more of Rick's photos here, and while you are on the site, check out some of the other stories.

We sure would love to tell your story and feature photos of your pride and joy! If you are inclined to share, please send photos and stories to the Woodland Scenics Marketing Department.
