Dear Friend, Happy Holidays. I hope this letter finds you well and that you have a joyous and peaceful holiday season. I am writing to ask you to consider an end-of-the-year donation to the YMCA. 2009 has been a difficult year and we urgently need funds in order to continue to provide the essential services and programs offered in the Hoboken-North Hudson community. Never before has your donation meant so much! Membership and program fees cover only 75 percent of the funds needed to operate the YMCA. Your generosity covers the difference and also makes it possible to provide subsidies and scholarships for those who cannot otherwise afford to take advantage of our programs and services. Founded in 1927, the Hoboken-North Hudson YMCA continually meets the changing needs of the people we serve. During the past year alone many men, women and children have participated in and benefited from the programs and services provided in our five core service areas: Preschool and youth programs, Aquatics, Fitness and health, Community enrichment and Adult housing for low-income males. Additionally, the YMCA has an ambitious plan to renovate and rehabilitate the recreational and community space of our aging facility in order to expand our programs to handicapped, seniors and families - making it a “Family Friendly YMCA.” Thank you in advance!
