Hoburne
life Autumn issue
Welcome to our
AUTUMN / WINTER ISSUE OF HOBURNE LIFE. This weekend, the clocks go back an hour, and the darker evenings will officially be here. We have plenty of content in this issue to keep you warm and inspired as the nights draw in. Although it’s sad to say goodbye to the summer sunshine for another year, we get to watch as the myriad trees turn to gold. It’s a time for wonderful walks through crunching leaves, warm drinks out in the cold and preparing ourselves for winter. Wrap yourself in a blanket, grab a cuppa and snuggle into your holiday home with our Hoburne Life magazine.

A message from
HOBURNE’S NEW DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS Dear owner, I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the changing seasons. My name is Sandra Mueller, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of Operations for Hoburne. Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, I bring a wealth of experience and a passion for delivering exceptional service. I am truly excited about the prospect of enhancing our operations to ensure that your experience as holiday homeowner is nothing short of outstanding. I have been in my new role for a few months, and I have been using that time effectively to visit our parks, spend time with our teams and to really understand the operational procedures we have in place. My primary focus over the autumn/winter period will be to enhance the owner experience, streamline processes and optimise efficiency, and I am committed to working closely with our dedicated park teams to address your needs and exceed your expectations. The summer season was challenging, struggling with team resource and the rising number of last-minute holiday bookings, but I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for every one of our team members who continued to deliver exceptional care and service. Working alongside Hoburne’s CEO, Jim Forward, I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of Hoburne. Together, I believe we can create a place that not only meets, but exceeds your expectations, making your time in your holiday homes truly memorable. Best regards, Sandra

OWNERS SURVEY We would like to extend our thanks to each of you for taking the time to complete the recent owners survey. Your valuable input is instrumental in helping us understand your perspectives and expectations for the business. We received a substantial number of responses, and the feedback we’ve gathered is invaluable to us. It provides us with crucial insights into areas where we’re excelling and areas where we can improve to better meet your needs and expectations as holiday homeowners.
PRIVATE LETTING 2024 For those holiday homeowners that privately let their holiday homes, the letting agreement for 2024 is currently being reviewed and any updates to the agreement will be communicated in December. Please remember that if you plan on privately letting your holiday home, we must have the correct documentation, without that you are in breach of your licence agreement.

CHANGES TO OUR MANAGED LETTING SCHEME Starting from the New Year, our managed letting period will change. Instead of running from December to November, it will now run from January to December. This adjustment aligns our letting scheme with the calendar year, making it more convenient for both owners and guests. To accommodate this change, we will introduce a one-month letting period in December. If you wish to have your caravan let during the one-month period in December, please complete the Managed Letting Form for December, which you can collect from reception.
PLANNED CLOSURE For those owners on a new licence, please remember that the close period runs from the 6th January to the 7th February, but during this time, you will only be able to use your holiday home on a weekend basis, arriving after 5pm on a Friday and leaving the park no later than 9am on a Monday. Therefore, we politely ask owners to please vacate the park from Monday 8th January. This excludes those owners on leases and old licences. For those owners on leases and old licences, please refer to your licence agreement.

Poem from one of our owners, Arlene, aged 87.
The Lone Tree There is a tree on the clifftop. It’s a lovely but lonely sight It has stood there for many a year and viewed many a starry night
It sits very close to the edge of the cliff and I fear one day will be gone Over the edge and into the sea His life on Earth will be done.
The winds have battered and the rain has lashed with fury and with spite but the stoic tree still stands there sodden but still upright
With many the walks we have passed it by and always admired it’s grace when it is gone and left this land there is nothing that can take it’s place Everything on earth has a timespan be it man or beast or tree We must accept the loss and bow to the fact that one day all will be set free I will forever remember this tree its dignity is etched in my heart Like many before me I’ll recall it’s beauty and be sad when we have to part.
The bark’s been flayed by many a storm and leaves by birds stripped bare the branches bowing to the winds soughing But will be whole again with Nature’s loving care Many a traveller has sat under it’s leaves and shared their tales of life How we’d love to know what secrets have been told of love and passion and strife
