Wom o or SPRING ISSUE OF HOBURNE LIFE.

Welcome back to Hoburne, and I hope like us, you are looking forward to a fantastic 2024 season. It certainly feels like it’s been a long, wet and dark winter, but change is in the air, and that glorious spring sunshine is finally here.

This is our first issue of the owner’s magazine for 2024, and there is plenty to update you on what’s been happening on the park over winter and what’s to come later this year. This winter has been extremely wet, and our grounds team has been working tremendously hard in all conditions to keep on top of the park, which hasn’t been an easy task. Despite that, longer days are coming, trees are blossoming, and Easter eggs are in the shops! This magazine is very much for our owners, and we want to hear from you. If you have something you wish to share with the magazine, then let us know. Grab a coffee and enjoy reading.

OWNER LISTENING SESSIONS

The next listening session will take place on 12th April

Sandra Mueller, Director of Operations, Derek Jones, General Manager and Courtney Higgins, Operations Manager will be available for small groups of owners to join them to talk about whatever is important to you. King prawn linguine with cherry tomatoes, broad beans and peas, finished with salsa verde and Winchester cheese.

This delicious recipe is featured on our new Spring menu. It was created by Milen, our head chef at Cotswolds and is a light pasta dish full of spring flavours.

The pasta recipe makes 2 portions. The salsa verde will make 10 portions, it freezes well, so you can keep the leftovers to use again within 2 months. It makes an excellent dip for nacho chips!

Crystal Shaw, Swimming Teacher

1. How long have you worked for Hoburne?

a. Since January 2024.

2. What has been your biggest achievement since working at Hoburne?

a. I’m the only swimming teacher on park and since I’ve started the swimming lessons have got really busy. I’ve got 14 new students already, which range in age from 2- 9 years old. Next term we are extending the swim programme to take children from as young as 4 months.

3. Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.

a. I like to play rugby. I’ve been playing for 10 years and started when I was in college. I’ve played up to county level and I currently play for Taunton Rugby Club.

4. When you’re not working, what do you like to do in your spare time?

a. If I’m not playing rugby, you’ll find me in the swimming pool with my own children aged 2, 5 and 10 years. They’re all great swimmers and love the water too.

5. What is your favourite view on the park?

a. I love to watch the sea waves crashing into the wall. The touring field is the best place to see them as it’s so quiet, so you can really hear the waves.

Hobr Bl Aor omowr

1. How long have you been a Hoburne holiday homeowner?

a. Since August 2023.

2. Why did you pick Hoburne Blue Anchor?

a. We first visited the area 2 years ago, for a picnic on the seafront that my daughter organised for my birthday. We visited the café and thought the park looked great, so we came for a couple of short breaks. I was retiring so we decided to take the plunge and buy. We like the size of the park and the access from where we live in Westonsuper-Mare.

3. What’s your favourite thing to do whilst staying at your holiday home?

a. We spend time walking the dog, there are some lovely coastal walks we’ve found, a particular favourite is to walk into Minehead and then take the stream train back. My wife likes to paint and sketch and I’m a keen golfer, I play at Minehead as much as I can.

4. What do you love most about being a holiday homeowner?

a. It great to have quality family and friends’ time. It’s not as formal as a hotel and its lovely and quiet. Everyone we’ve met on the park are sociable and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The lifestyle really suits us, and we can go as often as we like. It’s perfect for the dog too, nothing better than a lovely long walk on a Sunday morning followed by lunch in the café.

5. What top tip would you give to a new Hoburne holiday homeowner?

a. Visit as often as you can and just enjoy it.
