Student-Focused Dining We aim to exceed expectations by tailoring programs, services and dining venues to meet the ever-changing needs of students and the entire Hofstra community. Through customer satisfaction surveys, focus groups, comment boards, and an open door policy, we encourage communication and feedback to help us better understand how to match our programs and services with the needs of the Hofstra community. Our programs and services reflect the diversity and spirit of Hofstra University. Each location has its own identity, with a large variety of items available whenever your schedule allows. We offer 20 on-campus dining locations and a selection of dining plan options that vary in points and are tailored to any student’s schedule.

We offer flexible dining plans that fit your busy schedule and stay within your budget. With a variety of locations and convenient hours, you can connect, refuel, and save time and money with one of our dining plan options. New dining plan options allow students to choose the plan that best fits their eating habits. The newly renovated Netherlands Complex offers SubwayŽ, late-night dining options, Seattle’s Best Coffee , and much more, and gives students the convenience of walking just a few steps and enjoying a great meal. All dining plans are sales tax-free and can be used at any of the 20 on-campus dining locations! Mandatory First-Year Resident Student Dining Plan Options: All incoming ďŹ rst-year residents are required to purchase either Level A, B or C.
Other Dining Plan Options: Other resident, transfer and commuting students can take advantage of levels A-F. Level G is available only to commuting students.
Level A: This plan provides you with 1,865 points. Cost per semester $1,865 Suggested weekly usage $116 Average per day $16.57
Level B: This plan provides you with 1,760 points. Cost per semester $1,760 Suggested weekly usage $110 Average per day $15.71
Level C: This plan provides you with 1,630 points. Cost per semester $1,630 Suggested weekly usage $102 Average per day $14.57

Level D: This plan provides you with 1,445 points. Cost per semester $1,445 Suggested weekly usage $90 Average per day $12.85
Level E: This plan provides you with 1,325 points. Cost per semester $1,325 Suggested weekly usage $83 Average per day $11.85
Level F: This plan provides you with 720 points. Cost per semester $720 Suggested weekly usage $45 Average per day $6.43
*Level G: This plan provides you with 375 points. Cost per semester $375

How All Declining Balance Dining Plans Work: After you select and purchase one of the dining plans, the points are activated on your HofstraCard. All declining balance plans come with a predetermined number of points. Points are deducted from the proper account each time a purchase is made, and are nonrefundable. You have a choice of 20 on-campus dining locations that accept payment with the HofstraCard. You may begin making dining plan purchases on the Thursday prior to the ďŹ rst day of undergraduate classes. Fall semester unused points may be carried over to the spring semester provided you purchase the same plan as the fall semester or one of higher value. All unused points are forfeited the day following spring commencement. All dining plans are sales tax-free.

GOING GREEN at Hofstra University Sustainability is a way of life ‌ Acting today to ensure tomorrow Lackmann Culinary Services, food service provider to Hofstra University, takes an aggressive approach toward maintaining an environmentally sound dining program and is constantly seeking new and improved ways to further develop our environmental conservation plan. Current “going greenâ€? initiatives include: Maintaining 100-percent Styrofoam-free dining locations. All containers are biodegradable. Availability of china and stainless steel utensils at key dining locations. Supplying eco-friendly, unbleached napkins. Using local produce from local vendors. Reusable mug and sports bottle program offers a discount on all fountain drink and coffee beverage purchases when students use their reusable mugs and sports bottles. Annual Going Green Event educates students on what Hofstra is doing to protect the environment, and how to get involved. Farmers Market to promote local produce. Partnering with students to educate the community on the environment.
