Are you interested in becoming a paid Steering Committee Leader for the Rabinowitz Honors College Service Leader Program?
This program is designed to connect first-year students with local communities and instill a lasting commitment to service. Under the guidance of the Rabinowitz Honors College (RHC) staff and current student leaders, each team will work with nonprofit and community organizations, providing research, outreach, and direct service. As a Steering Committee Leader, you will be paired with a group of incoming freshmen and lead them through one of these impactful service projects. This role provides an opportunity for you to mentor new students, develop leadership skills, and make a meaningful contribution to the community.
We are looking for steering committee members who are:
• Student leaders committed to volunteering and capable of sustaining RHC’s and Hofstra’s overall commitment to civic engagement.
• Current RHC juniors, sophomores, or freshmen, who are available from August 23-27, 2025, and can live in provided housing with their group members.
What are the costs and perks?
• Steering committee members will receive a stipend.
• All meals and transportation during the program are included.
• All activities and trips will be paid for by RHC.
• Free on-campus housing is provided.
