Did you know? USN is spread over eight campuses: Drammen, Vestfold, Kongsberg, Ringerike, Bø, Notodden, Porsgrunn and Rauland.

University of South-Eastern Norway (USN): USN is Norway’s newest public university with 1,600 staff members and 19,000 students. The University received full-fledged accreditation in 2018 following the successful merger of Buskerud and Vestfold University College and Telemark University College. Today, the USN is a multi-campus institution with regional roots in its study locations in Buskerud, Vestfold, and Telemark. USN is recognized for its industry and business involvement and close collaboration with local communities. USN International Summer School, Campus Ringerike: Each year about 60 students from North America, Europe, Asia and Norway gather at the USN International Summer School for a challenging and life-enhancing experience. International students work closely with students from USN to gain new perspectives and cultural insights, often with a Scandinavian twist. The USN International Summer School is a product of longstanding partnership b etween the USN School of Business and the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University (TTU) in Lubbock, Texas, USA. TTU is an accredited and well-recognized institution offering 150 undergraduate, 100 graduate degrees, and 50 doctoral degrees to 37,000 students. Professors from USN and TTU have taught courses and managed the program for the past twenty years. The program takes place at USN Campus Ringerike in Hønefoss where approximately 1,450 students attend classes during the regular academic year. Campus Ringerike is known for its friendly and stimulating learning environment with faculty and staff who work closely with students. Hønefoss is a peaceful and safe city (pop. 14,000) located in the midst of spectacular scenery. Most shopping and recreational activities are within walking distance of the Campus Ringerike and Oslo is only a 60-minute drive from USN. Hønefoss is a great base for adventurous students who want to explore beautiful Norwegian mountains and fjords as well as travelers who want to visit other parts of Scandinavia and the Baltics.

Courses: The program offers courses in International Management (IMA3000) and International Marketing (MAR327) with learning activities that include lectures, discussions, and group work. In addition to in-class learning activities, company visits and guest lecturers are carefully chosen to complement the academic learning in the classrooms. Students can enroll in either one or both classes.

Social activities include a welcome barbeque, traditional Norwegian dinner and dance, campus pub events, local sports events, hiking, and a farewell dinner. Students have the opportunity to visit some of Norway’s most famous cultural attractions such as the Viking Ship Museum and the Norwegian Opera. Weekend trips: Weekend trips to Copenhagen (Denmark) and Bergen (Norway) are two of the program highlights.
