“Hosting such an art show is a tremendous opportunity for WIU and the entire Quad Cities communities to come together in a festive and meaningful recognition of the cultural contributions from the centurylong experience of Latinos and immigrants in our country,” said School of Education Professor Carla Paciotto. “We are grateful to Miriam for validating the life stories and histories of new and historic Mexican and wider Latino immigrant communities in the midwest, reminding us of the important roles they’ve played in our shared history and beyond.”
