Chicago, IL - SUEÑOS MUSIC FESTIVAL is the perfect Midwest destination event this summer in Chicago. With Lake Michigan on one side and the iconic Chicago skyscrapers all around, inside the famous and city center grounds—Grant Park—is where over 80,000 people will gather from May 27 to May 28, 2023 for the Sueños Music Festival, the one and only Latino festival in the Midwest featuring the youngest and freshest talent.

This will be the second year for Sueños in Chicago where, in the span of two days, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., revelers will get to immerse themselves in the total musical and entertainment experience that is the Sueños Fest. The big draw to this event is the variety of Latino music, the unique artistic, instagrammable photo ops, authentic local cuisine and of course, the overabundance of hydration stations.

It’s easy to see that Sueños is a top-notch event because it is put together by C3, the same company that organizes the Austin City Limits Music Festival and Lollapalooza every year. Every element of the festival has been carefully thought out to provide the best experience to its attendees. From the sponsors to vendors, everything is geared around making this a truly Latino, reggeateon, hip-hop, Mexican experience, by bringing today’s hottest artists together. There is also a ferris wheel, plenty of activations from sponsors and vendors. In short, it’s a whole vibe.

The lineup paints the picture. Both headliners, Wisin y Yandel, will be getting the crowds to shake it to their reggaeton, and Grupo Firme, with their regional Mexican stylings, is sure to have the crowd singing along to “Ya superame.” And in the mix, there will be more opportunities for perreo with Chencho Correoleon, Ivy Queen, the urban, rap and hip hop sounds of Becky G and Gera MX, to name just a few, and even some local Chicago talent will grace the stage and will make their mark at this ultimate Latino music fest.

It’s cool to see that one of the most exciting and intriguing guests this year is Sorry Papi (https://sorrypapi.com/), which is an all-girl reggaeton party event on tour. Their mission during the tour is to “break down social and cultural barriers to create a space where women can feel safe, transcend self-love and empower each other.” During their many events around the country throughout the year, from Miami, New York, New Mexico, Detroit and many other cities, the all-girl run Sorry Papi Tour promotes and holds events exclusively for women, creating spaces where women can feel safe, dance freely and be themselves. The all-woman DJ lineup includes DJ Miriam, King Inesse, Salina the DJ, DJ Manuela and DJ Marj.

This year, luckily, on Friday, May 26, 2023 (the day before Sueños begins), Sorry Papi will be holding one of their famous confidence-building dance classes (hosted by Visceral Dance Center in Chicago). You can find more information at the link and get your moves right just in time for Sueños (https://sorrypapi.com/dance/).

All in all, Sueños will feature more than 20 Reggaeton and Latino artists on a mega-huge stage. There will be plenty to do and see throughout the day, from munching on some of the cities’ best local cuisine, enjoying a drink at one of the many bars, interactive activities, and more.

If you plan on traveling to Chicago for the festival, make sure to check out their website for travel suggestions for airports and hotels. While in the city, make sure to take advantage of the CTA, Metra and Divvy bikes to get to the festival and avoid traffic. If you are driving, it’s a good idea to map out your route and find the best parking spot so that you can easily get to your vehicle after the festival. Also, stay with your friends, walk in pairs and be accountable for each other. There will be places to charge your phone throughout the day during the festival, so make sure to keep your battery full so you are ready for the perfect photo and in case you need to call a ride.
